Stoopid things you say in real life

Like a catchphrase or exclamation or whatever that you tend to say and people may or may not make fun of you for it.

For example, whenever something really funny happens, one of my friends says "Eyyyy lmao", like he actually pronounces "lmao".

I tend to say "Oh snap." I never realized for the longest time that you're "supposed" to say it only in positive moments. I just say it regardless of what's going on as long as I'm surprised.

I also say "My dick is x". For example, if you were to tell me "Go to bed, Scotty," I'd just scornfully retort with "My dick should go to bed." This is from a long-winded inside joke with my friends irl, but I generally say it as a sign of rebellion, even when it makes no sense; the point is that the utter absurdity of it is a better suggestion than what you just told me. Sometimes I vary with "Your dick is x."

Then there's "You know what else is x?" Similar to That's What She Said. If you were to say something like "Man, this test is hard," I'd say "You know what else is hard?" The punchline goes without saying.

I pronounce ASAP as "ay-sap". I know a lot of people say it that way, but I know it's dumb and I hate myself for it.

I'm a little redundant.

Like, I'll say, 'it might could be'. Or 'it should ought to be'. It isn't proper English, I guess. Bad idea, trying to express ideas whilst talking like an imbecile.

I say a lot of silly things like totes for totally or adorbs for adorable. I'm sure Val could name a bunch more that I say.

I try too hard to be funny sometimes.

But a lot of the time, it's not me saying something, it's me not hearing someone else. So I have to ask for them to repeat it and it makes me look insensitive. It's not my intention, I promise.

I say stupid/silly things all the time so it's a bit difficult to think of a few off the top of my head, but one that immediately comes to mind is "cool beans". I'm not even really sure where I got it from initially, but I've only heard a few other people use it semi-regularly and some tease me for using it. *shrug*

I am pretty careful not to say stupid things. Well, blatantly stupid anyway. My general tone does that well enough for me though, it seems, so it balances out, I guess

A friend did an impression of me the other day, using the words 'awesome' and 'totally' a lot. Guess that's fair. I'm kind of dumb, and I'm not much on actually using my rad vocabulary. (What more could one expect from someone who amasses a giant movie library and then just watches 'Hudson Hawk' and 'Kung Pow' and 'Disney's Robin Hood' over and over again.)

Oh wait I say awesomesauce a lot.

Then my 66-year old boss said it like I did and tried to give me a high five and I left him hanging because I was like

Image

That was an awkward moment.

But I clearly saw the error of my ways when he started using it.

Or maybe he just ruined it for me.

Forever.

"Get your **** in a pile." Meaning, organise your affairs, or simply to get ready. It's common to hear, "Ah, yeah, I'll get my **** in a pile so we can get a wiggle on," from me.

Or, you know, quoting the Personality Spheres from Portal 2 in conversation, or shouting Lemongrab lines. MMMHHHHH PUT YOU IN MY OVEN. NYAH, IT'S GROOOSSS.

Meh, I read it that way.

That's actually very common in southern U.S. English. I've always hated it, personally.

Also, I say stupid crap all the time so I mean...it's hard to just pick one!
