A complex weekend

#1

Post by The Missing Link » Mon Jul 21, 2014 1:01 am

I had my 15-year high school reunion this weekend. Had fun, talked to people I hadn't seen in a while.

Today I found out that someone that I had seen alive and well at the party about 12 hours earlier is dead.

I'm finding feelings so difficult to process because the guy picked on me in school a long time ago, but he asked how I and my parents were at the reunion. I didn't know him well, but now I wanted to have known him better. I'm numb from the ordeal but almost being brought silently to tears moments later. The transition of life to death with such a sudden twist seems paradoxical and surreal.

All I am left with is one takeaway: Every moment you have matters. every moment is a time for you to use for good.

Find someone you care about that you haven't spoken to in a while and tell them that you care for them and love them.

Other than that, I got nothing.

HOLY...SHIP! That must have come on as a shocker, but a very excellent moral, though.

I will pray for this person and his family.

I'm so sorry to hear this, TML. It's so surreal how we can lose people so quickly, but thank you for being able to share your feelings, even if they are conflicted. You are a kind person, and I'm sorry for the grief you are experiencing.

Now that I've slept and can think coherently.

TML's right. Life IS incredibly short. I just want all of you to know that I love you. So much. If you ever need to talk, shoot me a PM. <3

This has happened enough that such news does not surprise me anymore. I don't even feel like reacting.
