What does "romantic" mean to you?

Watching the Fab Five last night and they made over this guy who was such a romantic. The way he was expressing his feelings and the things he does, etc LOL sooooo ca-ute!!! Anyways... I was just wondering two things...

I have to go with Silv, effort is a big thing. But there's also the big thing for me:
Pleasant surprises. I would much rather agree with my girlfriend to forego the "Hallmark holidays" of Valentine's Day, Sweetest's Day, and the others and thus on a random day, say March 30, completely shock them by doing something special out of the blue. That has a whole lot more meaning than, "Yeah, here's a card and some candy because some people believe in this Cupid person."
