"Lets Just Be Friends"

Through the three years I took Psychology, I have learned one huge thing with men in relationships (even though I am a man. =P):
If a woman asks us to "just be friends", this is practically a sword through our hearts. Heh. It's ironic, isn't it?
The real reason that friendships after relationships don't work out is because of the awkward feeling that men conduct when they are in this situation. You feel like you're just there, with this woman, who you used to care for but no longer do because of the loss of a relationship. There is no more friendship, either. At least not sincere friendship, because no matter what, the guy will always think about it as a relationship, and it will be far more unbearable in this sense.
Interesting observation, ne?
