lets discuss animal psychology here a little bit, and owning dogs in general. There seems to be this weird conception that each individual dogs aggression is inherently personality based. Dogs learn not to bite at a *very* young age, they are taught that biting is wrong etc, it is the owners responsibility to teach puppies that biting is very wrong, and also to not instil any fear of unknown people or animals to the dog, you do this by socialising the dog from a young age, removing any sort of negative mental stimulus from being put into a situation involving unknown people and the like. Dogs who bite don't bite because they are dicks, they are reacting out of pure instinct, they perceive a threat, and react as they would to any threat, dogs are very intelligent animals, but they are still animals, no amount of domestication over god knows how many years can change that.

Simply put a dogs aggression could be made non-existent with the correct training and love from a young age. All three of the dogs in my life have been Staffordshire Bull Terriers, a breed pretty well known to be a very dangerous breed, but also a really caring and tolerant one if brought up correctly.

There are seriously no bad dogs, only bad owners. Dogs are not people, they can only react to a threat by doing what comes natural to them. Its the owners responsibility to ensure that people and other animals are not threats.

^ I agree mostly. I think if brought up correctly there's few dogs who would be very aggressive.

but to be honest

I've met more pit bulls that are just big babies that just want some attention than people believe actually exist when smaller dogs, especially **** poodles, are the ones more prone to bite

Smaller breeds are usually not seen as threatening, ergo, their behaviour is not as readily corrected. How many people think it's "cute" when their little ratter is yipping and charging? Poor form from ignorant dog owners.
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.
