I've tried exercising, and that helped. I was so tired last night that I dozed off twice before my bedtime.

I took a pill because I was worried my sleep schedule would be messed up.

At least I didn't stay up most of the night.

Exercising more is pretty much a good call no matter what the situation is.

Unless, of course, your problem is that you're exercising too much...but that's beside the point.

So, I should keep exercising?

Of course you should keep exercising, but I'm not diagnosing whether or not you have a sleeping problem. For that, you would see a doctor.

I don't think I have a sleeping problem anymore.

How did you overcome it?

I don't know.

If I was able to sleep before going to bed, I guess that means the exercise works.

What do you mean "quick"?

^I mean, you overcame this problem in five days. You should be as thrilled as I am!

So, five days is a pretty short time for a problem like this?

Uh...yes, because I think what you define as a "problem" doesn't usually end in only five days.

I went to sleep shortly after I took the pill.

I may be reading too much into it, but I think it means that I'm fine.

This is why only a medical professional can diagnose you with any condition. It's possible to go through a rough patch which resolves itself.

I think I got two hours of sleep without melatonin last night.

I went to bed at 10:00, and the last time I checked my alarm clock, it said 12:00.

I had to take a pill at about 1:00, though.

Exercise, but not before bed.

Try going to a sleep clinic.

Yeah I'm just getting over some major sleep problems and exercise in the morning/early afternoon definitely helps out A LOT.

Just try to be as active as you can. The days I have a hard time sleeping are the days where I'm pretty much doing nothing but sitting down on my laptop or watching TV. When I work, or have errands to do, or have a lot of chores I generally have a much easier time falling asleep.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

I've heard melatonin before bed is supposed to help as well - and while it does seem plausible, keep in mind that this apparently was heard from Dr. Oz. (And this is the same guy who suggested you use baking soda and lemon juice to whiten your teeth.)

^It does, but not for everyone. I found it didn't help me, but that herbs do.

Also I read that as "meditation" and was like "well I'm sure that would help!"

Another tip, DON'T look at your clock when you wake up in the middle of the night. It doesn't really matter whether it's 12 AM or 3 AM. Just try to sleep, and when you can't... well, too bad.
