The new wisdom is pretty much just "don't ignore thirst". Drink when you're thirsty, until you're not anymore. You'll probably get enough.

Like X-3, I don't keep track, but I've noticed that I drink more when I work restaurant (and this is true basically whenever I'm on the clock at any restaurant job).

I've also been terribly sick for roughly two weeks now, thanous, but water hasn't helped me at all.

Although today apparently antihistamines did...?
