DDR Arcade vs At Home

Which do you think is better? Playing DDR in the arcade or at your own home? My sis has it for PS2. (Even though me and my friends are the only ones who play...)

The arcade is cool and all, especially with other people, but as far as song choice goes, it's the home versions.
And I don't just mean the PS2/Xbox versions... I'm talking about Stepmania as well. *Loves his own ~50 songs*

Last time I checked the Arcade place doesn't allow me to DDR in my boxers while drinking.
Also the whole thing with waiting in lines and paying money. How much is a song anyways? I'd've played my 50 bucks worth pretty quickly if the arcade was close enough.

There's nothing like the experience of playing in the arcade, getting up there with everyone watching you, and flicking your two quarters in and then stepping away with the stomp stomp of metal under you. ^^
How can you say the song selection at home is better than the arcade's? 60 songs vs 200+?

Quality, not quantity.
Although with Stepmania, the songlists is only limited by the number of songs ever made.

Seeing that I suck at DDR, I would have to go with the home version, as I would make a fool of myself trying to dance in public.

Not if you buy a USB->PS2 adapter...

The arcade version is probably 36521 times more better than my 8-Bit pad. I should of gotten a Dreamcast. Oh well...

God, I'm bored, someone talk about DDR in this forum.
Arcade is better, home is for nUbs, the perfect window is bigger. Also (at least on Max and Max2) you have to go into the options menu to put it on solo, instead of L,D,R three times. Sheesh. That's like 5-10 secs.

HAY GUYS BEING AN ELITIST MAKES ME KOOL
I'd like to see you pass Max 300 Super-Max-Me Mix.

Nah, I don't have the right combination of skill-level/snobiness to be called elitist. My PA sucks.
I could do the beginning of that, heh. (never played nor heard, just looking at the stepchart) And I know it's easy to say, but as far as 10s go that looks like one of the easier ones. And if I could pass it, it'd be with an A. (cause, y'know, the perfect window).
Make some more simfiles. And none of that Michael W. Smith guy.

I said that because you said home was for noobs just because of the perfect window size. That's a common reason for most elitists to say the home versions stinks.
And I have more simfiles coming (and I'm ignoring that last part, since there's no way I'm going to do it because he is the best musician alive), but I've been lacking in motivation recently, both in making them and in updating the website. Maybe I'll just throw together another week on SoTDs in the meantime...

Arcade is cheaper.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^ And for a better product.
50 or 75 cents (around here anyway) for more songs, responsive pads (most places) that don't slide everywhere and legit scores, ala a perfect window that doesn't rival Pump's.

Arcade is still my choice because of DDR Extreme alone. I'm always picking arcade over home version until I import the Japanese DDR Extreme. (The -only- thing better about the US DDREX is the fact that is has Absolute.)
Ahn..I also like the arcade more because my dance pad sucks. Without a nonstick pad, I can't do A, let alone A (Reverse Flat Sudden). XD
