Do you have any piercings?

I used to have various piercings, but I took them all out due to pure laziness (someone complained at my work after I had been there for about a year, and they told me to not have them in when I came to work, and since most of them required a set of pliers to get open and I was working 60 hours a week during the summer, they eventually closed).
If done right, piercings won't hurt (except anything that's going through cart, that hurts). Getting a shot at the Dr's is worse. If you think piercings are painful, NEVER get a tattoo or you're going to be in a world of pain. Piercing is just one stroke of a needle, Tattooing is thousands of needlehits.
Stapler-looking guns are horribly unsanitary and run the risk of screwing anything up beyond a lobe. Think about it. It punches a generally dull stud through flesh (causing particles to go everywhere). I'd use those on lobes, but nothing else. Sure, a pro is more expensive and generally not in malls, but they'll make it less painless (especially with cart).
Depends on what kind of rings you have in. More specifically, it depends on the size of the rings. Once you go past the standard gun size, they aren't studs or clasps anymore. They're generally barbells (screw on tips) or captive bead rings (Rings with a dinky plastic ball that closes it, thus the need for the pliers) or something fastened by black silicon O-rings (plugs or talons). Thus, its extremely easy to get something yanked out (as I'm sure AI can attest to...eyebrow getting yanked = OUCH). And BTW, I had my standard hoops with the clasp thingies and a stud torn out when I was 16. They don't simply break off...they tear down, and if someone's pulling, they're coming through.
Eating with a new tongue piercing is rough. You're basically stuck drinking your lunch/dinner. Nothing spiced, nothing too hot or too cold either. Basically, you're going to want to drink things like Smoothies or Slimfast type drinks (Ensures or whatever are good too). You'll be doing that for about a week at the most. Then you can start getting back on solids. NOTHING SPICY. You also have to pretty much keep the area clean (mouthwash, but generally dilluted and no alcohol). its sort of like getting your Wisdom teeth pulled.

I have a cartilage piercing in both ears that I got way back in August 2000 - I didn't do it to be stylish...I did it because I WANTED them. Almost four years later, I still have them and don't intend on taking them out. I still have the same post earrings that I used when I got them pierced -- they're the kind that clicks in place when you place the post on the earring, so it's not as easy to take them out.Originally posted by Kage Boushi Benitora:
No. Why suffer unnecessary pain just to try to look better/more stylish? Illogical.
I plan to get a tattoo done eventually - I've been thinking about it for three years now, and I decided a long time ago what kind of tattoo I wanted, and I STILL want the tattoo I plan on getting. The thing with tattoo's is, you can't just instantly decide what tattoo you want and then get it. The NUMBER ONE factor in getting a tattoo is, you have to remember that once you get it, it's permanent. Laser removal for tattoo's is VERY VERY expensive. You have to think about the tattoo you want to get for at least 2 to 3 years...so you know it's something you REALLY want and you're willing to accept the fact that it's permanent and you'll have it when you become old and wrinkled.
I REALLY want to get a second set of cartilage piercings in both ears - I actually had a second set done in July 2001, but well...Let's just say Lurch is right. You shouldn't ever go to a place with amateur piercers. Mine did it in the wrong spot, and it made my ears swell up for a week. After I realized that the swelling wasn't ever going to go away, I had them taken out. Never again.

yaaaay someone who understands!!! im a combination of "gothic punk rocker". Tiz a wonderful label that society has given me and the people i hang out with. They don't understand the different ways of living, and for some reason will never grasp the concept. Just because someone "dresses" gothic doesn't mean they truly are gothic (insert random clique group in the gothic slot and BAM you have it for anything). But yea, its a sense of living, so the preppiest person you see at your school, could be the biggest goth you will ever meet... ya never know... piercings & tattoos don't = gothic LOL or punk for that matter...

Urbandictionary.com defines goth as....
1. A person who has sincerely immersed themselves in a stoic and depressingly good literature, is rather solemn and is gothic because of a state of mind not the clothes, black nails, or music.
2. Some jerkoff who wants to be definition number one but is just a retarded teenager confuzed by puberty and taking it out on the world, catagorizing themselves, and shopping at the all-mighty evil, Hot Topic... because they think its all about how they dress and what they listen to.
1. a style of architecture used in the middle ages, consisting of pointed towers, massive structures and heavy use of stone carving and gargoyles
2. a style of literature considered both dark and romantic and heavy on the drama (see "wuthering heights") NOTE: not generally horror or supernatural stories.
3. a style of music that grew away from Punk in the late 1970's. it was propulgated by bands such as Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees, and was known for its guitar melodies, darker themes and danceable beats. along with the music came a certain fashion sence (generally attributed to be begun by Siouxsie Sioux) consisting of very dramatic eye makeup (taken from the ancient egyptians), teased hair and tattered clothing made of lace and velvet.
4. devotees of any of the above.

^^^^I don't know...I have a lot of trouble trusting a dictionary that spells the word "confused" with a "z", doesn't capitalize the first words of sentences, eliminates both commas and apostrophes, is a grotesque abomination to the English language, doesn't explain itself and generally seems to have been written by a ten-year-old. Until somebody can come forth with a solid, coherent definition of "goth" that goes beyond "a certain state of mind," don't get touchy when people are left with no choice but to sterotype you.
