It was a really great movie. It was on the level of like Ben Hur. Only problem is I'll be having nightmares for week over the profuse gore and blood of this movie. Not for the weak of stomach people.

I might try to watch it, but the premise isn't very good, and the reviews certainly don't leave me enthralled. Just tell me this, is most of the movie just Jesus getting tortured repeatedly and screaming?

Jesus doesn't really scream. He moans out of desperate pain.
I thought it was an amazing movie. Definately a must see.

Haha, silly white people.
Anyways, back on topic: This was a great movie (keep in mind I'm agnostic, but I still loved it). Yeah, Jesus is white. Hoo boy. And he's tortured a lot.
The subtitles aren't that bad, since unneccessary things aren't subbed. Yeah, it was horribly bloody.
Humorous note:
The man who played Jesus was struck by lightning during the filming of the scene with the thunderstorm after he was crucified.
Anyone else slightly weirded out by the way Herod looked? oO;

I might see it tomorrow. Then again, with all this talk of blood and gore, I might not.

I don't see why people are making a big deal over the violence. I mean, for once a movie has violence with a purpose, and not just there for entertainment. I have to say, this is possibly the most amazing thing I've ever seen. The way Mel Gibson incorporated so many different themes and parts of the celebrated Passion story was flawless. Everything was done perfectly. The performances were moving, the imagery was deep, and the violence was necessary.
