Saw it opening night.

Best battles I've seen in a movie. But yes, the ending was too long.

Ending was too SHORT.

Excellent movie, waiting on the special edition.

Oh wait, that's what I was thinking about the trailer for The Mask 2. RotK was great. Definately the best movie this year, and maybe even the best movie I've ever seen.

I totally forgot about that preview! I was too stoked about the Spidey 2 preview!
Amyway, those New Zealanders have made something special. Everything in this movie is done with passion. The battle scenes, the acting, etc. all blew me away. I couldn't have been happier about the ending.

Very, very, VERY good movie.

Favorite scenes: That part just before the Battle of Pellenor Fields (I suck at rembering names) where the Steward whose name I forget has lost hope in winning, and is despairing completely as his towers are destroyed by incoming forces, and the music matches the occasion so perfectly, and he acts crazier, and crazier, and crazier, and the Gandalf hits him with a stick.

One of the things I DIDN'T like in the book is how long Tolkien drew out the ending (Although in that case, it led up to The Scouring of the Shire, which ruled.) I could've used a shorter ending in the movie. I also would've like to see the bits where Gandalf faces Saruman and the Mouth of Sauron. Gandalf reallly kicked ass in those scenes. Finally, the part where Sam rescued Frodo wasn't as good as it could've been. In the book, it was just plain my favorite part, going right up there with the climax to The Call of Cthulhu in my favorite moments in litereture.

Despite the problems mentioned above, LotR3 is a fantastic movie. The third in the trilogy always seems to go down for some reason (Star Wars (the original series), The Matrix, The Blair Witch Project didn't even GET a third part. The Evil Dead trilogy was an exception, though.), but not this one. The first two movies had me getting tired towardes the end, but not this one (except for the long part after the climax, but that's acceptable). This movie was well paced all the way through.

And to those who say they left out too much: It's a three and a half hour movie. What do you want?

-A Genius (A Cthulhu movie would kick so much ass. Oh, and I saw a poster for the new Troy movie. If it's based on Homer's tales and not history (Historical movies are cool and all, especially, oddly enough, the ones featuring horses (Seabiscuit, the one that's coming out), but Homer kicks ass.).)

Well, they're definetly going for an unrealistic epic in Troy, but I don't think any of the gods will be involved.
