This movie was a HUGE disappointment.
For one, they cut out the Scouring. A part I loved.
Another, nobody cares if Sam gets married and they spend the last few minutes of the movie running and jumping and hugging. That's two minutes that I could have spent leaving the theater and heading for the car.
They could have stuck with the book and have Gollum fall clumsily into Mount Doom instead of having Frodo wrestle him, then nearly fall off, then use TEAMWORK OMFG to get back up.
I also think they overdid the Palantir scene. I mean, Pippin looked like he was having a seizure.
Cutting out the Scouring cut out the most important parts. Sauruman was locked in his tower so everyone wonders what happens instead of him getting shot in the back with arrows from Hobbits. Not to mention Wormtongue wasn't killed by... however he was killed.
The Two Towers was MUCH better than this movie. And the Animated Return of the King was better as well, because it stuck to the storyline.
Return of the King (possible spoilers)

^^Don't be ridiculous. The animated RotK sucked royally. It was stupid and had bad music. And what was wrong with Sam getting married and having kids? I loved that they included that! I actually consider that to be important! Its brings a bit of closure to the story. Now the journey's over, and The Hobbits can go back to living their life without fear. They can start families and stuff. Of course, in the book, there was the whole scouring thing, but I can see why they didn't do that. After all the action and killing and stuff, it was nice to relax and see Sam calm down and get married.
