What Nintendo needs

#1

Post by Lord_Zack » Wed Jun 29, 2005 5:03 pm

-Lots of powerups in games!(similar to Rachet and Clank)
-More Minigames in their games instead of spinoffs. Also more variety, like vehicle sequences, ect.
-NPCs!
-Bigger worlds!
-No portrait portals,ect.
More coming as I think of them. Additions, comments requested.

At this point in time, I think the biggest thing Nintendo needs to do is make real games, rather than crap like Donkey Konga.

Amen, A.I.

Mario being their mascot and their biggest series (C'mon, for a long time SMB3 was the best selling game of all time but now I think it's FF7), I find it sad that the last Mario game that really played like one was Super Mario Sunshine.

I mean, they release some mediocre crap and then they leave us with no new Mario for a long time. I mean, Paper Mario: TTYD was all kinds of awesome and Double Dash was kinda nice (They made GP more difficult, but it still could have used all kinds of things they never put in and instead they gave us crap like Boo Pipes) but still, no real platformer Mario.

Mario64DS, while awesome as well, still consisted almost entirely of content taken from the original SM64. Still no platformer Mario.

All we can do now is pray that Twilight Princess won't suck. If the Zelda series craps out like Mario's is starting too, we're all doomed.

I mean it, guys. Nintendo's idea of "innovation" may spawn twisted crap far more often than not, but it's better than 5,242 nearly identical shooting and sports games.

Down with the spinoff of the month I say and up with minigames! They need to release platformers regularly. That's what they do best.

I've only played the demo of PM:TTYD and I think it's good. Mario Kart :D D!! was a good game, just needed more characters, and DO NOT diss Super Mario Sunshine. That nibbling sensation at the bottom of your toes? That's the power of annoyance.

Hey. Paper Mario: TTYD had a pretty sucky demo (It's a lot more fun in-game, though) and Super Mario Sunshine was probably the worst regular Mario platformer to date.

But there's so many Mario spinoffs I really doubt it's the worst Mario game ever.

TTYD was awesome. It just had a crappy demo. Of all places to pick out, they picked the uninteresting stretch by the plains, and the paper plane flight is better when you know that Mario didn't just spontaneously turn into a plane; he was cursed... or something.

And Goombella's text was missing. That blows.

It is a bad idea to make those things that come out of the box curse Mario.Of course,if I got 'cursed' like that,I might just vaporize myself.

What did you say?
To Hot Curry4you,I think he said that Super Mario Sunshine is one the worst Mario games ever.Let us get back on topic,as the previous posts seem to have been about TTYD.Nintendo needs to try to appeal to today's market. We are past the day when Mario was considered the coolest charecter ever.Nintendo needs to shave Mario, make him lose weight, and give him some interesting weapons. The F.L.U.D.D. is only the start, hopefully.

Shave Mario? Man you're sick! he's had that carefully groomed stach since Donkey Kong, The Stach is part of how he is recignized. As for loosing wiegh, well if it added intresting eliments to the gameplay without takeing away from the overall chariter itself it would be OK at best. as for weapons that depends it'd have to be something that seems pluasible for him ass based off other games, Like the Lazy shell, or perhaos a hammer of one kind or another. Nut giving mario a sword, or gun ( Save for the super scope) just wouldn't work because it doen't fit him. as for the return of F.L.U.D.D. that could be intresting and it wouldn't take away from Mario as we know he's used it before. but no matter what a mainstream gammer thinks, changing Mario to a Ratche like chariter won't work be cause mario has a following that won't see him as anyway other then he is now, and making a Mario 2.0 if you will would upset the larger part of the nintendo fanbase and probibly do more harm then good.

Lazy shell,I like that idea.It would be interesting to watch Bowser be knocked 30ft. into the air.
