Alex sat in his car, waiting for him to get home. He wished he wouldn't of gone on that stupid vacation. Now he was going to have to spend all night driving, and he hadn't seen any gas stations yet. Alex sighed, and decided to turn on the radio. He pressed 'POWER', and searched for a good station.

As Alex turned to dial, he began to realize that on every radio station he changed it to, all he could hear from the speakers was deep breathing and strange noises. "What the He..huh?" Alex looked up to see several signs with the words 'TURN BACK' written in red.

BANG! Alex jumped in his seat as something shot through the back of his car and flying through his windshield. Alex looked behind him to see a car following his. BANG! Another bullet! Whoever was in that car was trying to kill him.

'What do I do?!' Alex thought to himself as sweat covered his face. He looked to his right, to see a large mansion. 'I'll have to see if whoever owns it will let stay there for night,' he thought to himself. It was the only thing he could think of to get away from his pursuer.

Creeeek was the sound the doors made as Alex opened them. Strange, because the doors weren't locked.

There in front of Alex sat a tall man, a teenage boy, and some sort of creature with a white mask. Yellow eyes stared through the mask as if the creature wanted to kill him.

"Do you three own this place?" Alex asked as they stared at him.

"We all have no idea why we're here," the tall man said. "And my name's Blake."

"DarkZero," the creature said in a bored tone.

"Just call me Speed," the teenage boy said. "It was a nick-name at school."

Suddenly, the entrance doors shut. Instantly everyone leapt to their feet and tried to open them.

"We're trapped," DarkZero announced.

The plot's been introduced, and now escaping is in your hands. How are you going to get out? Why did you wind up here? And why did those doors shut by themselves, locked?

You all find your selves in a fairly-large dusty and dark room. There is a cabinet in it, and a door to the west, the east, and the north. There is also a set of stairs to the north.

I open the cabinet, looking for something that may aid in our survival.

Curious if the cabinet can be a trap, I attempt to approach it from the side just in case a monster of some sort would pop out. However, by the time I get there it appears DZ has already opened the cabinet.

DarkZero opened the cabinet, to find a cobweb in it, a book, and a photo.

I figure in the haunted stories no harm ever came from looking at a photo (unlike reading a book) and I take the photo out and examine it.

I bitch because Blake has the photo but eventually take the book.

Blake took the photo and examined it. The photo was black-and-white, and of a couple. The man was dressed up in a suit, having short combed brown hair and a moustache, and of a lady with pinned up hair in a dress. Blake realized that far behind the couple was a dark silouhouette, that appeared to be staring at them from behind an alley. "Strange..." Blake said. "Maybe they owned this house?"

"I was gonna look at the photo," Speed muttered. He took the book and examined the cover. There was no title, and it appeared to be old. Speed flipped through the book, not realizing that as he was flipping through it some sort of an animation was being created of a skull. Suddenly, the book shut by itself.

"I would suggest putting the book back in the cabinet and just looking in one of the other rooms since it appears to be cursed in some way."

Because the photo appears to do no harm I'll put it in my pocket.

I stuff the book in my back pack figuring I'll sell it for some cash on ebay when I get out of here.

I then head for the door on the east side of the room.

[strike]"Let's split up, it will increase our chances of survival."[/strike]

I follow Speed and get on one of the sides of the door assuming he may go on the other side of the door in case there is an enemy waiting behind the door to ambush us. I nod to let him know I am ready when he is ready to open the door.

I nod back at Blake and kick the door open.

I'll look around the first room for anything else that might be of interest. Besides, I figure we shouldn't be going off all by ourselves anyway unless we have to.

Alex looked around the room for anything of interest, and spotted a stick on the ground.

Speed kicked the east door open, Blake following him through.

East Room

There is a portrait in the room, a bookshelf, and another door.

I turn back to the group and somewhat raise my voice and say:

"I don't mean to split up, but sitting in the lobby too long may not do us much good. When you guys are ready make sure you come in this room."

I then walk over to the portrait and take a look at it. I pull the photo I took out of my pocket to compare the pictures, if there should be anything to compare.

"Do you want to try taking this portrait down Speed? Maybe there's a button that will move the bookshelf over there or something if we can't manually push it."

"Hang on a second, I wanna take a look at that book shelf first"

I walk over to the book shelf and start randomly taking books off the shelf.

"Oh yeah, you do have that book after all. Wonder if there's a place for it in the shelf or something."

Blake observed the portrait, comparing it to the photo he took. The portrait was of a lady in a dress, appearing very rich. He took a look at the photo, and then at the portrait. The lady from the photo was the same lady on the portrait! The man or the silouhette was nowhere to be seen, though.

Speed began scrambling through the books in the bookshelf, most of them appearing to be works of gothic and fantasy literature. Some of the book titles he saw were 'Frankenstein,' 'King Arthur,' and 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.'

(Dark Zero, you don't have the book. Speed does.)

If you took the book it would. :p

I'll attempt to take the painting down by myself unless/until Speed helps if it's necessary to check if anything is on the back of the actual portrait or if there is something the wall that the portrait was hanging over.
