Swift Trigger RPG
Note: My first RPG in VGF...hope it will drag on a bit before it "dies" like some others...
Other Note: This is a more modern and down to earth kind of fantasy RPG, so don't make too much of a fancy name for your character
Yet Another Note: I decided to make this one a bit innovative, the rules might be a bit long but if you really want to play just bear with me.
You have the choice to be three main types of people, the rebels, the citizen, or a soldier of the United Alliegence (a.k.a. The Bad Guys)
Rebels can have special magic powers that most are born with, the citizens don't, and instead have to earn them throughout the story. The soldiers have no magic whatsoever, just hardcore weaponry and brawn fighting skill.
You can make up whatever occupations with whatever powers you like but I'd like to introduce some I made up.
There are the "Blindfolded Ninjas", which are basically a secret organization of ninjas that are blindfolded or put heavy sunglasses on and fight relying only on their sense of hearing, smell, and their spiritual "sixth sense". Only a Rebel can start out being one if you wish, a citizen has to learn to be one, and soldiers cannot be one.
Another is the Scourge, a mysterious and deranged cult that is believed to have existed throughout history even before civilization was made. They hold deep dark magic, have no sympathy whatsoever and kill without mercy. They worship a demon only known as "Kar Zuhn", some say they wish to ressurrect him. They are also the "bady guys". Soldiers cannot be them.
If you choose to be a soldier, then your main task in the RPG is to eliminate, capture, or sabotage any Rebel or Citizen who is basically helping out the main character (which is me)...that is..if you wish to. You can convert to a Rebel or a Citizen if you wish, this is true for the others to convert within each other. Rebel to Citizen, and vice versa. Though, you have to sacrifice all your hardcore weaponry and armor.
Finally, the story revolves around the main character Jonathan Russell..which is me. Yet that doesn't mean I control the story, I only have created the beginning and the ending of the story for my guy, the rest is up to you, even the bad guys may win. However the final enemy I have already created and everyone has to face off against, regardless if you're already "bad". There are some bosses and enemies that I have also created that might pop up randomyl and I will temporarily control. There is somewhat of a main storyline, but it will kick in after we improvise with side stories and such.
To Join-
Name:
Gender:
Age:
Group :( Rebel, Citizen, or Soldier)
Occupation: (such as chef, salesman, hitman, grenadier, commander, or something completley random)
Background: (Hispanic, Chinese, American, etc,)
Religion:
Conscience :( Good, Bad, Neutral, Chaotic Good, Lawful Bad, whatever..etc..)
Accessory :( main object you always keep, can be something magical, random, or meaningful, whatever)
Main Weapon :( weapon you use most, can use fighting skills too)
Hit Points: (don't go overboard, this is the beginning. Average is 100 for the beginning. You'll notice that there are no magic points, magic is different in this game, your health decides how much magic you can use and how powerful it is)
Secret Power :( only for Rebel, if soldier, then type in a "secret weapon" you have, citizens type in a "special trait")
Bio: Short story about yourself
(Regarding Hit points: There's no real big confusing hit point system, just a number to estimate the overall strength of your character. But be realistic about this, there is a lot of realism to this despite the magical aspects, such as a whimpy knife cannot have a one hit kill towards a giant armored soldier or an omniscent being that can kill everyone in one shot, that'll just ruin everything)
Pictures are allowed to illustrate your character, an action you just did, the background, etc.
You can skip the background story if you'd like, just know that it is the future, everyone's at war, the United Alliegence pretty much owns everyone, and everything basically sucks right now.
And now, we begin..------------------------------------------------------
Background Story: The world...is in turmoil. The future of Earth had proven to be a dark and gritty environment.
The year is 2060, the world has grown much drastic change. The island of Hawaii has been eroded, there exists no rainforests whatsoever, the word "glacier" is rapidly becoming a forgotten word, and war is the main idea.
The United Alliegence, which is made up of the former United States that conquered Canada and parts of Central America, is the main supreme government in the Western Hemisphere, the rest of the world either at war with them, eachother, or fallen to a depression and is neutral.
The United Alliegence is both highly strict and demanding, yet let the people whatever they want. Education has dropped, society has been diseased, materialsitic, and intensly nationalistic. But the Alliegence will madly execute and chase any Rebel to farthest end of the Earth that slanders, robs, or murders any government property, officials, or ideals.
Around the world, the Chinese had dominated the entire technological advances of the century, as well as conquering Hong Kong, Japan, and the Philipeans, they hold a deep grudge for the United Alliegence.
Russia has done nothing at the moment, England and every other European nation have formed the Royal Alliegence, Africa is still in disarray, South America has been stripped of forests, and instead lies a humongous cityscape known only as "Gunbarrel City" where it is infested with eroticism and the immoral, and finally the Middle East has been completely ahnnihalated, save for select groups.
Technology has in fact not changed even the slightest, the only technology goes to weapons of war. People still use cars, lights, and televisions.
But even in the midst of the futuristic chaos, something is astir. Old landmarks and mysterious places, such as the Stonehedge, the Berumda Triangle, and Easter Island are secretly flowing with energy. Energy that some people, mostly the Rebels, have found , aquired, and passed it on to their offpring. Strange and weird powers that none knew where they came from, but they gladly use it in their day to day routines without ever knowing why it exists.
Such one Rebel, drifts through the old American open road, alone and weary, driving in an old yet ,still working, black Mustang. His real name is not known, but only those that were closest to him, knew him as....
Jonathan Russell
Gender: Male
Group: Rebel
Occupation: Drifter
Conscience: Neutral, though somewhat good
Accessory: Briefcase
Power: Does not know he holds the key to an age old secret in the Earth, but he can do remarkable and inhuman physical feats, as well as levitate for a few minutes.
Hit Points: 110
Weapon: A rusty revolver
Background: American
Religion: Christian
Bio: After running away from college, Russell has been the most wanted man in all of the United Alliegence. Not for murder, but for "constant civil disobedience", governemnt theft, and identity theft
Not much is known about this man, all records of his existance had been erased when the United Alliegence took power, he basically does not "exist" and is considered to be a "man without a country".
His personal life is shrouded, always uncomfortable with the subject of love, he speaks in an intelligenct and impeccible manner and is short, sweet, and to the point in speech. With blond hair in an uncombed manner, and tall slim size, he is a dashing person.
The Story------------------------
There was a man, whose life was as mysterious as a ghost, and mind as perplexing as a Rubix's Cube. He now strode down a street in New York City, which was the ONLY technologically advanced city in all of America.
He held hefty briefcase by his side, with the aged and scarred company name "Samsonite" still visible on the top side.
Everything about him seemed calm and collected as he strode by the high walkway over the maze of hovercars and suspending bullet trains.
Of course, any other man in his position would be scared incredibly, or at least running down the walkways.
Because Russell had just killed five officers and stolen ten million dollars that he swept into his briefcase. The officers however, were corrupt, involved with the local gangs and their leader...the enigmatic Shuriken.
Shuriken could not care less about the dead officers, yet he was furious about the money, and now Russell not only has the Alliegence after him again, but the gangs.
And yet, he strode down the walkway taking his sweet little time.
The sound of army helicopters cut the air, the crowd of people that he approached saw this in the sky, and began going indoors not wanting to be involved. The helicopters hovered above the small shop area, fluttering away any papers and garbage, two ropes were thrown down, and the army soldiers came....
The citizens watched intrigued from their windows....
(Um...why are there frowny faces on my post that just appeared outta nowhere?)

Yeah... anyway, welcome to the forum. It looks interesting, plus we haven't had many freeplay RPGs in a while. Only problem I see is that you're trying to include stats, but you don't have any set limits or anything like that on stats.
For example, you say there is going to be health, but there isn't really much of a limit on what it can be, just a reccomended amount. Plus it isn't clear how much damage a spell or attack would cause. In a lot of the RPGs here we generally give a certain amount of points to make stats with, so that each player can choose their strengths, and weaknesses and such.
Or another way it could be done is to basically just forget the stats all together and kind of go through the story with fighting kind of like how the people in the Battlefield Forum do; where its up to the players to make their characters of a reasonable strength.
Hope you don't mind my lecture. Anyway... Could I make a small unit up of soldiers, or would you rather I just make one character?

Yea I know I was kinda doing this at like 2 in the morning outta boredom so I was pressed for time cus I was half asleep. At one moment I felt like ditching the whole thing together but I had already written the whole thing.
The thing was that I've played other RPGs that seemed waaaaay too complicated on statistics so I felt I wanted to avoid that and yeah, kinda go in the direction the Battlefield Forum does.
I didn't seem to bother with damage control either, I assumed people would be reasonable with that like the Battlefield Forums. Though I hope people won't act to be "invincilbe" after saying they're not dead or wounded from a huge rail gun attack or something. However, if you have a realistic or reasonable explanation for it, then maybe it will go along.
If you're a soldier you CAN command a small unit or something like that, but your occupation has to say "Commander" or "General" or something like that, not a simple Infantryman.
