You go into the market and check around. You find an affable young man and hail him.

Man: Hello.
You: Do you know someone by the name of Yldor Four-Finger?
Man: Aye, he's a guard for the baron who lives in yon house.
You: Where's he hang out usually?
Man: Eh, when he's off duty, he spends some time in that dockside inn-- if you can call it that-- the Broken Oar. Occasionally he'll visit a nicer place, or a brothel, or he'll hang out here. Anything else?

No thanks

I'll slip away and go check out the house, try to locate any guard with a messed up hand. And unless it's impossible, I'll just try to stake out the place until dark when he leaves.
Yeah.

Still don\'t care.

You go to the house unchallenged. However, at the door, a guard (with both hands apparently intact) stops you and asks what you want at the Baron's.

I just say "nothing" or grunt or something and walk away. Then I'll wait until it gets a little dark to see if he leaves the estate
Yeah.

You wander off and wait. As the sun begins to set, another guard takes his place, and he ambles toward the town. Do what?

Er... the guard going into town? His hands were intact, he just wouldn't let you into the baron's manor.

Well if I can get XP and it looks like I could take him, I'll still trail/kill him.

But fiiiiine, I'll use Drift to try to jump across any blockades and stealthily enter the manor
Yeah.

Bah, making me draw out maps

Okay, you could try jumping onto the roof. You'd been hiding to the east of the building and don't see any guards. The main door is on the western side of the building. So... jump to the roof, or look around, or what?

Heh, sure, jump to the roof and move about as silently as possible to the western edge.
Yeah.

You do so. No one seems to have noticed, as there's nobody on the roof. You found two trap doors, one towards the southeastern part of the roof and one almost at the northwestern edge. The southeastern one was locked. Looking over the west edge of the roof, you spy one guardsman outside what seems to be the main door, the one that you had approached before. Do what?

I'll try out the southeastern trap door, and open it a crack to see where it leads. If nothing of immediate danger is present, I'll enter the manor that a-ways
Yeah.

You peek in and see a room full of sleeping men. They seem to be tough and fit, so they might be guards.

First I test to see how creaky the trap door hinge is. If it's not so bad, I'll try to slip in as quietly as possible.

If it's incredibly noisy, I'll check the other trap door
Yeah.

Still don\'t care.

Oh-- actually, this one was locked... I'll just assume you got it open. D'oh.

Anyway, you test it and find that it's incredibly creaky. You wish for some oil to put on the hinges, but nothing is handy. (That's a good idea, actually, I'll put it in the next rank's shop.) Nobody has woken up, though, so you close it carefully. You go to the northwestern trap door and open it. It's in much better condition. You look down from all four directions and see a blank space with walls west and south, but just some empty hallway east. The north is, of course, a few feet and then a wall, as the roof ends that same distance to the north of the trap door.

You descend as silently as possible and shut the door above you. It closes with a small click. You move south to the wall. The wall is jutting out from the one on your right, the west, and turns a corner to your left, heading back south. You spy steps leading downward farther east into the hallway against a wall.

Nah, I'll just peer down the steps, if no ones there I'll descend 'em slowly
Yeah.

You walk to the steps and look down. Suddenly, you hear a shout from down the hall and the drawing of swords. You glance over and find two armed guards, weapons ready.

Guard: You! What the hell are you doing? How did you get in there?
