Keir gives you some directions. You follow them and soon arrive at the magician's house. Its somewhat small, and aside from a door at the front and a few windows there aren't any other ways to get in.
What are you going to do?

Before I left, I wanted to know the name of the book and what does it look like.
What time of day is it?
Is there anybody around?
Single story house?
Can I see the magician inside?
What's the surrounding neighborhood like?
Any visible defenses?

Total slaughter, total slaughter. I won\'t leave a single man alive. La de da de die, genocide. La de da de dud, an ocean of blood. Let\'s begin the killing time.

Eh... I really don't have much planned here, and I'd rather not have this dragged out too long, so sorry for sort of rushing things along. Now then, lets pretend you asked him before leaving:
"Its a very old book with a leather binding over it. I don't exactly recall the title, though its a book on replication magic; so the title should be something among those lines. Sorry I don't have much more information."
Its currently mid day. The house is just outside of the actual town and its only a single story. You can't see anyone around the outside or any defenses set up. You would need to get closer to the house to see inside it; so you can't tell right now.
