i remember the zelda forum being really popular, NC too. NC was weird bc it was this separate universe from the rest of the site full of people who you never saw anywhere else

Pokemon was always pretty active, the Nintendoland one too, I think. At least I gravitated towards them and there was plenty of activity.

Zelda Forum was always hopping. SilverWind and smelly old TML helped foster activity, and occasionally I'd run a Hyrulean War if I was feeling ambitious.

TML moved to Oz. I guess he was off to see the wizard.
Wyborn is evil incarnate. I have nothing nice to say about him, or Galefore, or Ace Mercury, or Cap'n Boo from Timbuktu. They are blackguards all, sinister and debauched.
They eat worms.. We know this to be true.

I don't actually have a problem with any of those guys (not even Cap'n Boo from Timbuktu, believe it or not). Just having a laugh.

Eh, even users I feuded with I think back on fairly fondly, VGF was too fun to feel otherwise. Wyborn really mellowed out toward the tail end of his visits here but he was pretty argumentative (me too so I can't hold it against him lol). ML was often quick to threaten me from his moderator position, I didn't care for that much but we still remained pretty civil, and got along mostly.
We all clashed here and there I guess, especially towards the last several years of VGF's active period. When we were kids or really young I remember us brushing disputes off easier, but that seemed to change.

^Likewise. I liked Fryguy and WEAPON, for all that they evidently thought I was the stupidest guy ever. And yet Lurch and I got on pretty well.
...not ML so much. You know, I'm sure ML is a great guy (no doubt his mom thinks he's terrific), but sometimes two people are just destined not to be pals, I think.

I barely interacted with WEAPON.Booyakasha wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 1:30 am^Likewise. I liked Fryguy and WEAPON, for all that they evidently thought I was the stupidest guy ever. And yet Lurch and I got on pretty well.

Don't recall Fryguy.
Couldn't stand Lurch (& it was mutual).
Still good friends with ML.

Re: what was the most popular forum on this place back in the day?
You know, that last line I wrote about ML just now? That was a crappy cowardly lie. Fact is I got along fine with ML, right up until I started drinking heavily all the time and acting like a total asshead. Of course he disapproved of that------------looking back, I disapprove of it myself. It's a bad way to be.
I'm amazed anybody anywhere wants me around, quite frankly.
