How would you react if the moon suddenly disappeared?
What do you think some of the consequences of the moon disappearing would be?

She lives in the clouds and talks to the birds...

If I learned the moon had disappeared, I would probably assume I was dreaming, or drunk again.

When I figured out it actually happened, I would probably experience supernatural terror and/or existential dread. For a while. If nothing else disappeared, I would call The Government and recommend they double their surveillance of Gru, Lex Luthor and especially Carmen Sandiego.

After that, I suppose I'd just wait to see what would happen. I mean, there'd be ramifications. Tidal biz would be weird. Our orbit around the sun would be slightly funny for a while. A lot of people would be sad, maybe (?). I don't care to speculate. The moon has had a huge impact on most cultures. Most mythologies have a moon deity. The Chinese have their Lunar New Year. The very word 'month' is related linguistically to the word 'moon'. And...like...um...what would you call it when you showed someone your butt if the moon disappeared? Huh?!? What would you call that then, schmott guy?!?

I wanna know!

Presumably, if the Earth weren't kasploded or utterly ruint by our dumb moon disappearing, we'd eventually just pick up the pieces by and by.

Pffft. Watch, gang------------Hotster is just doing a feeler here to see whether people in general will be annoyed when she inevitably steals the moon or eats it on toast or blows it away with a huge sneeze or something.

If the moon just suddenly disappeared entirely, the tides would get screwed up pretty quickly, which would in turn drastically complicate ocean travel, marine life, & global water quality. Also, nighttime travel would become more dangerous without the reflected light, & nocturnal animals would have a worse time of it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
