I learned the first one from Doctor Who.

I should look up a precise definition for the second one, but we use the word in my field to describe flooding that occurs a specific way. Some flooding is 'riverine' if it's a result of a stream overflowing it's banks. 'Pluvial' flooding happens during rain events when storm water runoff floods something on it's way to a stream or body of water either by just accumulating and "sheet flowing" overland, or by overwhelming local drainage infrastructure like storm sewers and ditches. We also have 'coastal' flooding caused by waves and storm surge during hurricanes or tropical storms.

i've only ever heard the word pluvial the other one sounds like a rock pokemon you would get from a fossil.
