Mario Hoops 3-on-3

This'll probably be the best game NC's witnessed to date, I guess. Mario & FF characters in the same game, who would've guessed?

The final character roster may have been determined, but here's who else should've made it:

Fighter
Red Mage
Grand Master
Chocobo
Mallow
Geno...

...Which reminds me, if Square came back to Nintendo, what are they waiting for? Revive that gem already!

(Yes, this is Boo Destroyer...Stupid age old ideas, which mainly explains my sign up date)

^The game is actually a Final Fantasy spinoff with Mario characters put in.

They've already revived somewhat. They're doing remakes of the old FF games for the GBA, and they did a KH game for GBA, and they're doing Dragon Quest (they have that now) exclusively on the Gamecube and Wii. -CSM

Then why is it called Mario Hoops?

Because it was the Final Fantasy team's idea, not Nintendo's. -CSM

Why do I get the feeling that when most people hear "Final Fantasy" they think of a spiky haired blonde with a giant sword and the ultimate in effeminate bad guys?

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

Certainly wasn't thinking that, but I can picture it.

I wasn't talking to you.

I see. But yes, I'm glad he's not in there. Too overrated. :P

I always think of Black Mages, Moogles, Dark Knights-turned Paladins, Badass spear users, Treasure Hunters, and a picture of a girl piloting a giant machine. -CSM

That's because you're educated.

Mostly I'm referring to the people who say "I hate FF" without giving any reason. Now, if my connotation of "Final Fantasy" were 7, yeah, I'd probably hate it too.

Agreed on that. I think of Final Fantasy with spells, cool characters and always nonstream weapons available(example: Gunblade) to most games. Then there's the storyline that even the game with the most straightforward(albeit boring) storyline can be good.(FF 8)

I still was hoping Geno and Mallow would make an appearence, but since this is a Mario/FF crossover, it makes sense to an extent. Would've been really sweet, though!

Plus, Red Mage is the literal generic all-around character. Not counting 8-Bit Theater since that's a comic, not true Red Mage factual information. Mario himself would be under the Red Mage class, being an all-around character with multiple abilities. I'd say Dragoon class, but he can't use a direct Axe related weapon, so... Link, to an extent, also would be the Red Mage class. He can use both magic and non-mage type weapons with utter ease.

Anyhow, that's just some opinions on stuff, sorry for the unrelated speculations.

When I think of Final Fantasy, the first thing I think of is...probably a spell, a moogle, or a black mage.

I'm not really interested in Mario Hoops, mostly because I hate basketball, I don't have money, and more games interest me, like FFIII or umm...some other game.

Speaking of which (I may be derailing, but...), to those of you who think that Mario Party has gone way too far:

I rest my case. Just had to work that in somehow.

^MMAC is a collection of the old, classic MegaMan games. Mario Party is a board game that's starting to get somewhat old(Making an online one might be cool though)...

I think the first time I heard/read/saw anything FF-related was in NP's preview of Tactics Advance.

The reviews for Hoops are in the 6.0s from what I've seen.

Sonic was the same thing all the time as well. So was Zelda and Metroid. No complaints there for some reason.

Mega Man was the same thing all the time and had 8 or so sequels. But anyway, with the Wii, it just might make Mario Party....something else.

Also, there needs to be more true Mario platformers. Basically more games just like New Super Mario Bros. (which is apparently the way they should be)
