But, yeah, Chaos should come back, but he'd have to not be an enemy becuase he left for another dimension after a chsnge of heart or something after sonic adventure 1.

Eggman will finally defeat Sonic. It's official.
None of the final bosses were all that epic.
Giant water dragon, giant dragon in space, mechanical dragon, weird alien dragon, some thing that's probably a dragon in some way.
God damn it, Sega loves dragons.
