I bought the full legit english version. It's much more powerful than RPG Maker XP and 2003 and the rest of the predecessors. Thankfully Ruby is a programming language I am fluent in and I think I can create a very nice RPG which I will share once I am done with it. This is sort of like my summer project I guess you'd call it.

That's nice. Where did you obtain it?

I have RPG maker for the PS2 it's not PC quality but it's okay I guess. as for your RPG Maker well I've seen what that program can do and expect great things from you.

^Thx. Yeah the difference with the PC is added customization and stuff. Plus, since VX utlilizes Ruby, I can basically shape the game however I want. I can add music, graphics, anything really. I just figured out the code for my menu that I am making. It's gonna be a ring menu.

I'm gonna upload a demo so you can get a feel for the game. All of the graphics you see are what came with the game and since I bought a license I am able to legally use these. I decided to keep them because they are very nice. I did create the title screen myself, however, in photoshop.
The ring menu, the meters in the status screen, damage pop-ups, and the way that the characters follow the hero are all customized scripts that I have written specifically for this game. They are not normally used in rpg maker games and are examples of how Ruby script editting can change the look and feel of your game. Isn't it neat?
[EDIT] Until I figure out how to properly encode everything onto a game disc, the demo will have to wait.[/EDIT]

You can download the 30 day trial but to buy the license it costs 60 bucks.
Alas, I have just created a brand new battle system and I have created a custom royal themed window for the text boxes and status screen.

Cool. I just downloaded RPG Maker 2003 yesterday. It's pretty cool, but I'm a little disappointed that I have to select from pre-made sprites for characters.

You can add your own in rpg maker 2003. I chose to get RPG Maker VX though because I like to script my own battle systems and stuff. The preset stuff they give you in the rpg makers just wasn't for me as I couldn't make the game my own. Now with Ruby Scripting I can make literally everything however I want it. RPG Maker XP has ruby scripting too though, if you feel like making a full custom RPG and you don't have any money you could try finding a pirated version of that. Just know that you won't be able to release it to the mass public because it'd be illegal.
I found the official trailer for what I have on Youtube.

The battle system they show in that video wasn't for me so I created my own. If you have programming knowledge you can make it side view or however. I programmed a ring menu battle system for my game.
Look at this guy's game he made. This is showing the true potential of RPG Maker VX. He scripted it to have a party selection for each battle, more party members, and a side view battle system. Pretty neat huh?

Okay I am back only for this. I am releasing the first demo of my RPG. It took me a while to get all of the systems how I want it. This is only the beginning and gets up to the bar in Wells when you find Brandon again. I haven't created the whole town of Wells yet and you can't exit the bar. I will expand upon the town of Wells and Drakes Island this week. The game is called Crossover: Tales of Life. Eventually you will go through four seperate adventures; One with Brandon, one with Katie, one with Morgan, and one with everybody.

This will be the site to track the progress of the game.

Is it not compatible with Macs? I tried downloading your demo, but it didn't work out for me.
Are there any screenshots you can show us? Like the menu, or a battle?

I can make some sure. It's for windows users only I'm afraid. My computer uses Windows Vista and I guess it's not Mac Compatible. I'm sure there's a way to make it Mac compatible but right now I'm not sure. I'll make some pics and upload them on my site now. Did you extract it and double click the icon with the word "Game"? You are supposed to do it that way. I know the extractor is not in english because they never translated that part of the VX RPG maker.
[EDIT] Just uploaded the menu now. You will notice it's different than RPG Maker VX's default menu in that it is a ring menu and has the "Party" option added where you can switch out party members. The new Icons I have going along with the options are nice too.
[SECOND EDIT] I have to get some rest now so I don't have time to upload more screenshots onto the site. Does anyone with any free time wanna download the demo, take some screenshots, and upload them somewhere for you guys to see? Also, please tell me how you like the ring menu, the battle system, the graphics, etc. Also tell me what you would like to see such as a bank or whatever. It's gonna be a huge game with over 60 hours of gameplay hopefully.

New updates: Okay, this time around it's been outdone. I've added the Assassin class which is basically a killer tank with low hp and defense that uses daggers. I've also added the Drake class which is a demi-human who uses their accession skill to turn into a dragon. They use dragon genes just like BOFIII. Different combinations of dragon genes give them different skills to use in power just like BOFIII. Each drake also has a unique set of genes. The dragon gene system is scripted and is not normally part of the default program and was actually very hard to implement. The menu now has a bestiary option which you should complete for a surprise! Also added the continent of Tethe'Alla. Drakes Island has a statue at the end for easy transportation to the next continent. It's pretty nice all around what I have so far. I'm currently looking into have a side view battle system in combination with the ring menu battle system but I haven't figured out something that I like yet. Stay tuned for more details.
