As previously reported, Namco is bringing Tales of Phantasia, the predecessor of a long line of Tales games, to the Game Boy Advance. This classic title was previously released on both the Super Famicom and PlayStation, but only in Japan.
Famitsu, a Japanese magazine, is reporting that the upcoming GBA port of Tales of Phantasia will be from the PlayStation version instead the older Super Famicom version. The PSX version sported updated gameplay, which included new abilities and items along with an improved battle system like the one in Tales of Destiny.
Tales of Phantasia for the Game Boy Advance is due to be released in Japan this June, but there has been no word as to whether North Americans will see the game released on this side of the ocean.
