Yeah, like they're EVER going to give us something we want. Seriously.

The last best thing they released, IMO, was Mario Hoops 3-on-3. Remake SMRPG or make a new Chrono Trigger already!(I haven't played CT, but to my knowledge, it's battle system is similar to Quest 64, which is an instant win to me)
What's the matter, scared?

Most likely announcements from Square:

1. Another FF remake
2. Another FF7 game
3. Another FF12 game
4. Another MMORPG
5. An announcement that in fact, they really do hate each and every one of us, and want us all to suffer.

Seriously. I can't think of the last time I've been *really* pleased with a Square game.

That's it! I'm off the Square bandwagon!

From where the sun now stands, I will play no more Square game, forever!

I mean it!

Yay for Super Paper Mario!-jay(SuPaper MaRPGio)

Yes! Go Mistwalker!

Actually, the last Square games I have liked are:

Radiata Stories
FFIX
Star Ocean: Till The End of Time

And only one of those is actually a game by Square itself. The other two are Enix based, made by Tri-Ace.

Thus. Tri-Ace is now my favorite RPG developer. Too bad they're tethered to Square. Damn.

Concerning the announcement, I guarantee its another FF13 or plans for FF14. Blech.

^ *Shudders* That, no offense, would be a terrible idea. R.I.P Squaresoft, you were a great company while you lasted, but we're really getting sick of you. Seriously, the more games that Squaresoft makes that bear the Final Fantasy name (or otherwise), the more angry, resentful, and stubborn the fans get. Right now, Final Fantasy, and Squaresoft deserve a burial. They used to be great, and now they completely rush every game they make now.

Probably more Final Fantasy spinoffs.

I know they have a large fanbase, but at around X, the Final Fantasy games just kind of lost something.

...No, it's not that the heroes didn't lose testosterone...They kind of begun that in IX with Zidane...But then again, he's how old, 15?

"No future Square-Enix titles will be released on any of Sony's gaming consoles."

"We're making something other than a new Crystal Chronicle/Remake of an old Final Fantasy for the Wii."

"We've been bought by Microsoft."

Chances are, the announcement will make no one happy.

^ I'd like a new FF on the Wii too. It'd just kind of suck if they didn't release anymore FFs on any Sony console, because then my PSP would be even more useless and I wouldn't have as much of a reason to buy a PS3.

Oh well, if they did, they'd probably just release them on the 360. Which is fine by me. *hugs her 360*

It really depends though. It'd certainly help the Xbox 360 market in the U.S, but from what I hear about Japan, the words "Japanese Xbox 360 Market" is a border-line Oxymoron. (The japanese people I know actually grew up in Japan and if they're correct, most Japanese people won't touch the Xbox 360 'cause it's not Japanese...) It would be nice though...The Xbox was really more of a system known for FPS'es and Online gaming and really lacked RPGs. (Sure, they had KOTOR, but you could get that on the PC and not everyone liked Fable...Though they do have Final Fantasy XI now.)

Sony losing Dragon Quest was already a big enough "Ouch" if you ask me...They'd have another huge "Ouch" if they went and lost Tales as well.
