Wyborn]Good God wrote:Ass.

When I inputed the word "felled" into my post I directed it to the game of life, which would intend to be a reference to achieveing a life. [which SephirthKirby fails to do] Also, if you are, don't pend it all on me, SpehirothKirby was the first to step into plate to protest to my posts.

But mainly, I'm angry at you for eliminating something that would tend to be "funny", but I guess some people don't put forth adequate punchlines these days.

Oh, and thanks for making my post suck.

I guess when it comes to video games I think of them more on Wyborn's level, as a form of art. If I play a game especially one which relies heavily on plot like an RPG I want something as close to the original script as possible. If a moment was not meant to be funny then it should not be made to be so and instead ruins the scene.

If it's the Japanese version you want, go learn Japanese. I've learned some myself. -CSM

We don't have to - the new translation is right here.

Also, you might feel better to know that the whole "Gau meets his dad" thing is funnier now, because the lines involved in picking out an outfit for him actually make sense.
If a moment was not meant to be funny then it should not be made to be so and instead ruins the scene.
"He'd slit his momma's throat for a nickel" doesn't ruin the scene. It's a much better line. The "He'd kill his best friend for the right price" line is much more bland.

Really, though this is the only line that I have a problem with so far. Otherwise I think the retranslation has been fine (Of course, I haven't gotten very far yet. Time will tell.)

Do they use "ara" and "aga" in this? I hate that. -CSM

Yes they do use the "ras" and "agas" this time around. Again, this is more of a direct translation. I just got through the Magiteck Factory so I still have a while to go in the game. A lot of the items have been re-named too.
Tonic - Potion
Potion - Hi-Potion
Tincture - Ether

There are more but these item names fit more into the rest of the series and I don't have as much trouble figuring out what they are.

I will mention that Kefka's lines in particular have gotten better. A real winner:
Spoiler.

Yes, you can apparently improve upon perfection.

They kept that, genius. If they hand't, it wouldn't have made sense in the scene. And taken up too much space.

After reading this topic, I REALLY need to buy this. Especially considering I never played FFVI.

*10000 Pound Weight crashes down on me*

I need to check if I have enough first, then if I don't have enough, I'll sell FFIII.

It will take maybe,...5 minutes to push that off.
