So what line did it take the place of? -CSM
"You are all helpless before me!"

If you tell me it wasn't more Kefka-esque, more humorous, and all around better, you are just wrong.

And Chunky: no. ROMs are bad.

Edit: Also, they replaced "Prepare yourselves!" with
Spoiler.
"If that's how it's going to be... I'll snuff them all out! Every last one of your sickening, happy little reasons for living!

Okay. So I concede. Some of the lines were good. I guess the good changes cancel out the bad ones. But that doesn't mean there aren't bad ones. -CSM

The loss of "HATE HATE HATE HATE" is the only one that I can't make a solid argument against, and even the new one there could be considered better from a narrative standpoint. This translation is full of much better lines throughout the whole thing, so that small throwaway lines (like the Emperor's last words) suddenly carry much more personality and meaning.

See, there's the one line I can't really argue. Damn.

Yeah, the "Hate" line was classic. Poor form to remove it.

I have to say that that one and the "Momma's Throat" one are the two I miss the most so far.

Anyway, I finished the "Mr. Thou" part. Classic.

And the dialogue does seem to be much crisper than the original.

Edgar's womanizing jokes are much better. He had a pretty good line with Celes right before the big battle in Narshe (which I just got to.)

And Kefka had a pretty good line that I don't remember from the orginial. Something about how "dispose rhymes with oppose."

However, there's no excuse for removing the classics, though. Poor form.-jay
"]

I agree that the momma line sounds meaner but knowing Shadow's past the new line is much more ironic.

Well we didn't know Shadow's past when we heard the Momma's line, did we? -CSM

Just picked this up. So far I'm enjoying the rediscovery of one of my favorite games.
But they took out the "hate, hate, hate, hate..." line? :(
Still, this port is long over-do. I'm not going to let the lack of one or two lines ruin one of the greatest games of all time.

On related note, it also reminded me of one of my favorite flash animations. I don't care if it's old. Watch it again, damnit!
