Trivia:
--Attacking the ducks earns meaningless points on the score display below, & it technically controls the frequency of the dog popping up (killing both brings him up sooner, ignoring them brings him up later), but otherwise has no effect on gameplay.
--The scoring will actually complete a 10-round cycle using the same system as the original Duck Hunt game, if players continue to attack enough ducks.
--Fighters are depicted in 2D on this stage.
--Moon, Nightmare, Andross, Jeff, Dr. Wright, Squid Sisters, Abra, Snorlax, Lugia, Xerneas, & Lunala cannot be summoned here.
--The Duck Hunt fighter's laughing taunt has him rear up just high enough to be seen over the tall grass on this stage.
--Banned in competition because of the tree & the dog (yeah, sure, fine, whatever) & because of the score display being "distracting" (what the everloving crap).
--In Smash 4 3DS, Duck Hunt is fought on Battlefield for unlock instead of this stage, even after the DLC patch.

Let's play it one last time before Flash dies!

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

This stage was actually legal for several years, it wasn't until Smash 4 was announced for the prime-time slot in EVO 2017 that a decision was made to ban it. It was a very controversial move at the time and a lot of people weren't happy about it, but since Ultimate came around and introduced a much wider array of legal stages to play on, nobody really cares anymore.
