The Siege of Oceansford: Open War for the Mighty

OoC: I have finally decided that this would be a fun idea; a siege on a castle, ending in a bloody one-on-one battle with the Castle's lord. I aim to play the role of the Lord and castle's army, and my challengers will take on the role of attacking armies and lords. Your army may be as sizable as you'd like, and your Lord may be of any nature; in fact, you may choose a character of your own if you desire, just to have the attacking general be somebody more than just a king with a blade at his side. I request that any takers be more experienced at the usual Gunjin workings, as this type of thing requires more skill in narrative than a regular one-on-one battle. Note that the challengers will eventually breach the walls, and have the option of killing anybody in the castle. This is a good chance for the challenger to write as many gory death scenes or one-off battles as he or she would like, and I'll gladly indulge small skirmishes among soldiers as side-plots to the final, full-scale one-on-one. The fun of this is the benefit of raiding, destroying, and fighting, as well as having the option to be personally running multiple battles in-topic. Hell, use as many characters as you'd like, and invite somebody to join you in the battle against my Oceansford keep. I myself will post the 'intro' as soon as the first of the armies accepts.
Note: Any other 'overlord' can add his army to the attacking army at any time. I will have a full list of 'important' soldiers that you may challenge, and will likely invite a friend or two to add their own soldiers to my defense. Any extra joiners can at any time decide between aiding the defense of the castle or aiding the offense. Anything goes in terms of armies, but since this is a classic, crenelated-walls-and-towers castle with archers and swordsmen as defense, try to stave away from the use of incredibly futuristic weaponry or deus ex machinas. Catapults, battering rams, ballistas, trebuchets; its all fair game. I'll even allow for cannons. Just no LAZERS PEW PEW
Before we start, I'd like to take early tally of who's in from the very start, and from there I'll write my intro. Anyone can join past the first five on-topic posts by anyone in the topic. Again, your army and soldiers can be any character of your creation, or even for the fun of it, a pre-existing character. I originally intended to 'reveal' who the king was, but I've forgotten who I wanted to use. So I'll probably do that right off instead.
also, you can pre-sign as an ally if you so desire.
Enemy Armies:
Tazy
A Traveller
Speed
VGA
1-up
Vapor
Allies:
Repster (if he's still around)

Is there going to be a problem if I don't post frequently? I actually like to write more narrative/dialogue rather than fighting cause heck, I can only think of so many ways to kill people (as I said at an earlier time I think, heh). I think this would make a good prequel for one of my characters.
I'm also pretty good at keeping my character's powers at a reasonable level too so you wouldn't have to worry about me suddenly using my ultimate apocalyptic attack of doom that destroys yer castle or anything.
So if my 'casual' posting isn't a problem I'll join on the attacking force which would be the enemies, correct?

This looks interesting, I think I'll join on the attacking army's side.

This should be fun. Already have some plans for this... hope I don't forget them along the way. Anyway, add another to the attacking side.

^I made it clear in the intro that I wanted more experienced members. I almost, almost turned VGA down, but he's been improving a bit lately. Sorry, but I'll have to turn you out of this one. No hard feelings, just keeping what I said prevalent.

Well, Galen is quite talented... I suppose I'll close out the ally port, because I see what you mean. anyone else is pretty much automatically enemy from this point forward.
And with that, I'm starting my post.

If you consider me skilled enough, I'm going to be attacking. I'll also join Blake's Casual Posting Army.

mind if I and my squad of highly trained dragon warriors join in gale? I was hoping to try out some new characters from the ranks of Inferno's army one of his generals and a few of the soldiers (it's a small squad, but a powerful one). also, will magic be allowed in this since this is a middle-ages/fantasy setting? I just want to know ahead of time so that I can take that into account when I make my opening post, and I have been improving narrative wise in my spare time.

Magic? Not everyone in your army needs to be magically endowed; your general, maybe, but but try to keep magic use to a low. It sort of defeats the purpose of a siege to be able to magi-nuke the whole wall down.

it's not strong magic just something like elemental magic misles (one has earth, one has fire, one has wind and one has water) it won't break the wall in one hit, it'd barely scratch the wall really, the magic they have is more for sodier combat and dealing with archers and catapults and such. well for my four soldiers anyway, my medic only has healing magic that can help the injured recover quicker but it can't revive the dead. my general has magic for dealing with bigger threats like incomming catapult fire and the stronger minions of yours but nothing on the level of nuking the wall. Inferno, my commander/king does though but he won't be fighting until we reach the throan room anyway, he'll hang back until we breach the wall with like a battering ram or something.
remember my small troop are all dragon warriors but if I have to cut magic from my four soldiers and my medic I will, but if I do have to cut magic from them I'll need to increase their numbers from four to six to compensate.

I throw down commendations for an interesting battle topic. Like a toned down, more manageable version of the Teufel Jihad.

wait, I've changed my mind on my forces.
instead of the magically endowed dragon warriors I'll be using a team of highly skilled samurai each specializing in one kind of weapon.
one has a halberd, another bow and arrows, a third is skilled with twin katanas able to weild them simultaneously, one is a blind swordsman, one uses low yeild explosives (mind you, they are from japan so they would have gunpowder around this time period), and one that uses a short spear that is attached to a long rope on his armor.
then there is their master, the man who trained them, he is a one eyed swordsman who is very skilled in sword and hand to hand combat and then their is their shogun a master stratagist and ruthless warrior who shows no mercy when he fights.
their names are Zanji Gochin (halberd/naginata), ZatoIrou (blind swordsman), Nisashi Miyamoto (katana & wakizashi), Yaichi Nasu (archer), Kamon Kurosake (small explosives), Yariza Kobaiyashi (spear), Hideo Zangetsu (their master), and Shien Nobunaga (shogun). in addition I am going to have Enishi Kuwabara as Shien's feild advisor.

You're missing Enishi. ...also a few others who don't really have names.
Anyway... Any plans on when this will actually be starting?

meh, enishi is a chancelor, though I guess I should add him anyway as the field advisor. and chamberlain (who I'm guessing is based off of the swordsmith masamune) isn't one for frontline combat.
anyway, I'm ready to start!
