A Possibly Temporary Return, and an open battle.
I'm posting here for the first time in years. I remember that the last time I was here the Gunjin was the only forum I was really that active in, and I remember it fondly. I don't know if anybody will remember me, but still, I've decided to have another battle, after all this time, preferably with any number of somewhat experienced battlers. I'll be using my self-titled character.
The battlefield is a somewhat sparse forest in early autumn, with a river running through with a stone bridge over it. Oddly enough, there are many carnivorous fish in the river.
***********
A snakelike being stood on the stone bridge, appreciating the beautiful fall day. He had just been on a hike for a few days to reach this spot. he took out a violin and started improvising freely. He suddenly heard a sound like something stepping on dead leaves, and suddenly stopped playing, one note echoing out into infinity. He glanced without moving to see who or what was approaching...
OoC: I apparently am not that good at opening posts now. meh. :/

The sound was a single clank.
It was soon joined by many others.
A man stared fiercely ahead at his prospective foe. It was a shiny man clad in steel-like armor. He did not grin, nor did he grimace; he smelled the leaves and the fleshy smell of his foe, additionally the smell of the dampness that generally surrounds a bridge. His somewhat large knuckles contracted, clacking like ball bearings knocking together.
The sun reflected on his blue visor as he emerged from the reddish foliage, standing approximately 6'4" and somewhat wide, though mostly tall. He raised one of his hands into the air and pointed at the snakelike being, his blue eyes and wrinkled brows staring deeply into the other being's eyes.
His mouth spoke quickly, a metallic grinding noise of sorts issuing. It was actually a voice, if one heard close enough; and what it said was dire.
"The end of your days has come, abomination. Prepare thyself."
The man then leaned forward a bit and began walking steadily and quickly at his prospective foe, murder in his eyes as he raised his fists. He was already going to attack, but he had to close the gap first, clanking step by clanking step. His soles tore boot-shaped imprints into the otherwise clean soil, scattering leaves everywhere in his wake...
The destroyer had arrived.

LET US ROCK, for the first time in years.
The snake played a small, menacing melody on his violin before putting it away.
He looked a bit miffed. "C'mon, really.... what's wrong with being an abomination?" Vapor questioned. The metallic warrior was a bit confused that the reptoid wasn't attacking, but he decided to just ignore the weirdness and begin the massacre. However, as Metal Man began to prepare for an attack, Vapor vanished and a great mist enveloped the forest.
Metal Man was confused, but a vague memory stirred in his mind. Wait....I remember this...this is one of his strategies.....Yes...... The mist suddenly cleared, and a glowing dust was raining down on the cyborg from above. He looked up, and there was the snake, levitating and sprinkling the dust from a small pouch. Metal Man tried to strike, but the dust apparently made him unable to; his arms, though unharmed, felt like they were melting on the inside. Vapor then immediately, and cryptically, said "FRISSU, baby."
The ground split beneath Metal Man, and he fell into the crevass and was soon propelled out by a mysterious explosion.
OoC: In case I misrepresented your character, then my excuse is I don't remember much of what he's like....could I get a bio?

OOC: There's an old one in the book of fighters somewhere, I'll post a new one as he sort of changed as of late. However you have yet to do anything as bad as the usual person--just be aware I tend to overwrite things when it comes to how my character reacts, and tend to also leave the other person's character reactions up to the other person--just my style, although a bit strange in context with the battlefield.
The man had been flung around and, as he stared at his arms, apparently either poisoned or hit by some strange form of acid. Still, he gritted his teeth, brushing the dust off his dented body from that bizarre explosion-crevasse incident.
"You're quite an odd fighter." He smiled. "I like this much better than what I usually get."
He made a rather disgusted expression, as if considering the average person he encounters to be rather poor at their form.
Either way, he cracked his knuckles, wincing under the pain before then beginning his attacks.
"But while the weird is an effective way to off-balance your foe, sometimes it can also be ineffective. If you want to deal some real pain to me, you'll just have to learn from this!"
He stalked forward, throwing a punch which immediately missed. Of course. It wasn't going to hit anyway. He instead convulsed to the left, where most people would move in the way of a far-right hook gone awry, and then did a quick battering attack with his left fist. Being that the fist was made entirely out of metal, and rather solid, it'd be sort of like a sledgehammer.
Not to mention his next move, where he violently attempted to stomp on his opponent's right foot with his left, kicking up the smell of oiled joints and dirt in his wake. He made a variety of guttural, metallic sounds as he leaned his entire upper body forwards, threatening his foe with a sudden and abrupt headbutt.
Then he jerked backwards, to the left, then he did a small hop (which created a shockwave upon landing enough to mildly stun anyone standing next to it) and then finally worked himself up into a vicious barrage of right and left hooks, cross, punches, hammerblows, and even karate chops as he tried to reduce his foe to ruins. The sunlight glinting off his armor made him somewhat hard to look at, and it was hard to see what he was up to--especially with that bizarre, Joker-like expression on his face while he was fighting.
He looked confused... confused and crazy... and yet strangely content... all the while his arms still felt like they were melting.
His foe may try to flee, but he would try his best to keep close range to him. It would take a counter attack to push this maniac away!

OoC: I don't have feet...people are forgetting that already. And I've found your bio, so I'm good.
"HOLY BLOODY FRICKIN' JESUS MARGLIBGNARE FRAGGLAMAXIN ****TIN'........." Vapor yelled while being pummeled, in addition to other nonsense words and swears, until he finally said one of his several magic words: "SCOOB!"
A Silly word for a life-saving spell.
A very mysterious blue gel-like liquid came out of nowhere and flooded over Metal man. Once again, Metal Man was confused, and the blue liquid was extremely sticky, making his limbs stick together and his sight was also impaired by the liquid getting in his eyes. He tried to lunge himself towards Vapor, but merely stumbled. meanwhile, Vapor, even though seriously injured, was able to take out 3 elegant-looking blades of crystal. Metal man was still on the ground, so Vapor blasted him incessantly with fire breath until Metal Man regained his footing and lunged again, but as he lunged Vapor flew forward at the cyborg's head, and in a graceful move, implanted two of the blades in Metal Man's face and one in his eye while flying right over the warrior's head. Metal Man was left on the ground, somewhat immobile and blinded.
The attack left Vapor with little energy. By Dali's mustache, I'm hurt....I'll need to finish his quickly if I'm to survive....or do some healing, but the fairy dust can't help much with this many wounds....He quickly started to perform a spell, but not one of his silly-named ones. He was casting a summoning spell, which would take a little time....

The man sputtered himself, spinning around and shining dangerously while covered in the goo and stabbed by things. However, his visor had managed to protect his vision--barely. He stood up again, seemingly unimpressed this time. He cooly took out a new visor and put it on, and then walked right back at his foe.
"At the same time, you remind me of myself, a long time ago. Too bad that person is dead. Ha ha ha haaaaaa!"
He shook off his arms, the horrible burning finally gone. His face was cut up and bleeding, and his eyes didn't like all that goo and crystal nonsense flying around. He ripped the last of the goo as well, before walking back up to Vapor. He spoke, now in his foe's face.
"Spells are worthless, silly snake." He chuckled. "You know why I stomped at that part of the ground over there? Because I wanted you to think I thought you had feet. Why did I think that was a good idea? Because--"
WHAM!
He swung a sucker punch out of nowhere, a metallic left sledge-hand flying at his foe's mouth, where the evil spells which had kept him from simply punching his foe to death had been coming from. His suit groaned and let out more foul-smelling oily smoke as he swivelled to the snake's side, hurling a spinning right slicing punch at his foe's lower body, before then leaping up and making one of his rare kicks--the entire knee-down worth segment of solid steel and supports flying at his foe's head. After doing that he'd crash back onto the ground, making another stunning wavem before backing off and punching the ground.
The punch chucked a big clod of dirt, once again, at his foe's face, as Metal Man wildly waggled his right pointer finger at his foe.
"Nyah nyah nyah nyah, you can't kill me, I'm the Metal Man!"

As Metal Man was wagging his pointer finger, Vapor got up, wiped the dirt off his face, and started wagging his middle finger at Metal Man.
"Nyaa Nyah NyaaNyaa Nyaah, SCREW YOU!" Vapor yelled as he flew up into the sky.
Metal Man was kind of getting used to his opponent by now, so he wasn't really that confused by now. He jumped up with great power to land right in front of Vapor in midair, who had his eyes closed and his hands clasped. Metal was going to land a sledgehammer punch in vapor's face, but he opened his eyes suddenly and a winged ghost crocodile-panther came out of nowhere and rammed Metal Man in the face.
WAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAH, TIME FOR ANOTHER CENTAUR RODEO! LET US ROCK HIM, JEFF!!" he yelled to his summon.
Vapor then came close to passing out, as he had been injured so severely. He fell on jeff's back, then quickly awoke. Holy crap....I better do something about this. He swallowed some fairy dust and carried on.

Metal Man shook his head, staring at the strange thing which just appeared from thin air.
"You really are weird, aren't you? Well, no matter, you've only dented my helmet. And I'm sure it's only a model."
He chuckled to himself.
"I think I'll fight both of you, then... right here."
He flew to where they currently were, and then... well, he didn't stop flying. He was like a metallic missle with no brakes--and he would be able to steer himself to constantly chase Vapor like a homing missile. The sun glinted a whole lot off of him as the smell of jet fuel filled the air and the roar of jets did too. It got a lot hotter in that area as the Metal Man would repeatedly attempt to ram and crash into Vapor and his mount with his fist, head, and feet.
After a few go-rounds, he'd become sick of it and try to grab them both and fall to the ground with them... ...with them both under his feet, so they'd be brutally crushed, if it worked. He had that same manic look on his face, and his stance was relaxed--apparently he knew not to be surprised by anything this foe did anymore.
A pity, as that had been one of his foe's best moves in this fight.

As Metal Man was about to crush both of them brutally, They both rapidly evaded it by Jeff simply using his ghost abilities to pass through Metal Man's
falling body while Vapor turned to fog.
"This...is getting annoying" was Metal Man's reaction as he landed with nothing under his feet but the ground.
Jeff started to be quite paradoxical as he kept ramming and biting the cyborg's head while Metal Man could barely touch him at all. This guy is definitely one of the most annoying people I've met this month... the cyborg thought as he blasted electricity at the ghost, which actually harmed it, strangely enough. Then, two thingz simultaneously happened to the air. the mist cleared and the hydrogen content in his immediate vicinity-a 10 foot radius of Metal Man, to be exact- increased. he didn't really care about the hydrogen, but he knew that when the mist cleared Vapor would be somewhere. and he was, standing with an outstretched palm towards his metallic foe.
"What, another spell?" metal said sardonically and somewhat annoyed.
"No, just science." Vapor replied.
He launched a torrent of fire breath from his mouth at Metal Man.
when it got within 10 feet of him, the air instantly exploded violently. and it kept exploding, because Vapor kept feeding in the flames and hydrogen. Jeff, a ghost unaffected by fire, stayed inside, with a vicegrip of a bite around Metal Man's midsection. Vapor performed this attack somewhat lazily, as he had only managed to not roll on the ground vomiting in pain because the fairy dust had given him strength.
While he was blasting, he was bleeding all over, and had been for a few minutes. He summoned another ball of bizarre liquid (while STILL BLASTING) and poured it on himself, which actually, instead of gluing his limbs together, kind of helped with the wounds. A bit like a liquid bandaid envelope.
yet my healing will probably exhaust itself soon.....

Though the electric blast had been a bizarre fluke unrelated to Metal Man's attacks, he had seen the weakness of his foe quickly, and had plenty of time to plan as the less-than-effective fire failed to actually do much harm to his incredibly insulated and thick armor.
"You use tricks to protect yourself... but you're fighting a trickster as well."
Metal Man pressed a button on his wrist, activating the other move he used: his dimensional distortion device. He warped between dimensions, now appearing in a ghostly fashion like his erstwhile foe whom had been holding him still. His foe was still stuck in the form which would hold a corporeal being back--it is unlikely he expected an enemy to shift to his dimension and then...
...Begin violently punching and kicking him like a punching bag, before eventually picking him up and hurling him over Vapor's head, if possible; otherwise, shoving him away.
"Let me give you a present."
The Metal Man phased back into his normal reality, where Vapor was, and then immediately hurled two crushing hook attacks at once, aimed at his foe. If they both hit, his foe would possibly be crushed in two by the sheer force; if they missed, the violence of the two fists hitting one another would make such a horrendous noise and shockwave as to knock his foe off his feet.
Either way, it would clear the way for another of Metal Man's attacks, as he quickly did a right-leg roundhouse kick, with his jets on, spewing fire, nasty exhaust, and heat at his enemy.
The Man of Steel surveyed his surroundings, and laughed.
"What you use so much magical power to do, I crush with two fists and a foolish interdimensional teleporter. You are too inexperienced to defeat me. Ha ha ha haaaa!!!"

Vapor avoided the attacks by taking out two portative pipe organs which Metal Man's fists crashed into instead of him. only the E flat and C sharp pipes were damaged. as the flying kick came, Vapor crashed one of the organs down on metal Man. This didn't do too much, but Vapor started playing a jazzy melody on the other organ and singing along:
"Your attaaaacks are laaaaacking in variiiietyyyy! you're just puuunching and kiiiicking agaaaain and agaaaain!"
Vapor had also turned completely purple.
Metal quickly rammed a sledghammer punch into the back of Vapor's neck, and began beating Vapor's head against the organ, creating many dissonant chords in the process. He enjoyed the noise, as it reflected Vapor's pain. His head was eventually smashed to pieces against the keyboard.
"hm. that was a foolish way to die." Metal remarked as he walked away into the trees.
Suddenly, Vapor came out of the trees and bit the Man of Metal in one of his patches of actual flesh. Metal was actually surprised at this, yet reacted quickly, and smacked Vapor off his shoulder.
"WHAT THE HELL!! I JUST SMASHED YOUR HEAD TO PIECES!!" the angered cyborg yelled, genuinely annoyed.
Vapor responded, slowly, ".....You just do not understand the mechanics of funk."
"Wait....was that other Vapor just an illusion or something?"
"pretty much, but only the one at the organ." The Vapor from the trees was actually the same snake Metal had been fighting all along, but the one playing the organ was merely an embodiment of Vapor's funk, his rhythm, his soul--not spirit, I mean music.
"Now for some more science!" Vapor yelled.
the winds shifted, and Metal sensed the air's structure changing...seeming to combine. The winds were only of hydrogen, and a green gas had appeared out of nowhere, oddly-and Metal suddenly realised what that meant.
Vapor was using his powers over gas to create a compound, something that wasn't a gas-this Metal realised too late to stop himself from being engulfed by a torrent of Hydrochloric Acid flooding down from the sky. Vapor levitated out of the way.
OoC: this is possible because the chemical formula for hydrochloric is a combination of hydrogen and chlorine (which was the green gas). Vapor's using his gas powers to make a compound of them.

Metal Man smacked his computer. It had, once again, become sentient and said something completely out of his character. However he had little time to think about that, as the hydrochloric acid barrage was going to be dangerous. At least his undersuit had blocked the attempt at his flesh--it would be a rare event for anyone who hadn't totally killed him to actually touch that.
Metal Man flicked a finger as if the acid was nothing. "Tsk tsk tsk. You are using science against a man who was resurrected by it. No points for you."
Metal Man did a short leap, before suddenly sinking beneath the ground. His immense weight plus his fire jets had... allowed him to make a hole there. All the acid in the world couldn't quite make it after him; he began tunnelling through the ground with his raw strength, moving in ways which would frustrate the acid--although it had both polished and worn down his suit some. He would soon reappear, out of the ground, smirking.
Let me first settle some business.
He turned to his helmet, and smacked it good. "Don't interrupt me again, Mr. Computer! I'm busy killing people!" *SMACK* "Yeah! I'll kill you next if you do that again!"
Metal Man then regained his composure, then picking up the busted organ thingy.
"I think I found my new favorite throwing object."
He lit it on fire, and between that and all the acid that had been thrown around, the area smelled of brimstone. He then hurled it at Vapor and the oxygen rich air that was most likely left behind from bizarre hydrogen works. Thus... turning it into a bomb.
The man then turned and ran at his erstwhile bizarre foe, speaking some more as the shiny armor's reflected sunlight angled at his foe's eyes, possibly blinding him. "Variety is the spice of life. But I am the spice of death, foolish fool! Death, like me, uses plenty of repetition. Do you not know how he uses the same scythe all the time? Away with you, petty foe!"
The man reached his foe and then began berserkly swinging punches and kicks at Vapor, spinning around him like a whirlwind; if the organ attack had succeded, his foe would have it stuck on his head AND be on fire, too.
The man's incessant laughter filled the air, creepily, as the clanking and smacking going on continued.

The hydrogen works had really left the air much more rich in nitrogen than anything else, therefor hindering the flames, but not the flying organ. Nothing hinders a flying organ. But vapor managed to dodge it, and them Metal came right at him. Vapor had no escape but to disintegrate into mist. He reappeared underneath the bridge, where Metal Man could not see him.
Metal was looking around for Vapor until he found he was nowhere to be seen. He turned on his infrared vision (I think that's what it's called) and spotted Vapor underneath the bridge, and went for him.
Metal smashed the bridge apart with one hammer fist, and saw Vapor feeding fairy dust to a fish. Vapor threw the fish at him, which suddenly grew about 80 times its original size and swallowed the arrogant cyborg before jumping back into the water, which was just deep enough to let him in.
Before he could react, metal found himself inside the giant fish's digestive system, in the stomach in particular, and was getting blasted with acids and bile and whatnot. It was extremely gross, and blinded Metal, and stuck his limbs together, so Metal was helpless while he was being sprayed with acid and bile and whatnot.

Metal Man didn't seem bothered by his foe's newest, strangest attack, because there was really no reason for his limbs to be stuck together, except perhaps by his foe's fear of Metal Man escaping; had he feared that, though, he should have known to try something more sneaky, as Metal Man punched his way out of the fish, and, still covered in acid, walked out of the water and then grabbed Vapor by the neck, the acid now burning the very person whom was bent on using it against him.
"You are rather pathetic, with your redundant usage of whimsical but weak attacks. It is your loss, however..."
The fist tightened around his foe's throat.
"I shall not fall from any mere magic trick; what do you think this armor is for? Fun?"
He laughed, before hurling his foe to the ground and flicking his thumb a weird way. It was but the most subtle of movements, accompanied by a small click. The smell of the acid and the water hung in the air for a moment, before a loud servo noise engaged.
This noise was going to be the last one Vapor heard for a moment, because immediately after Metal Man's arms began punching again and again like pistons. Even worse, Vapor was most likely on the ground--therefore the overall effect would be like being hammered flat, into the ground.
Metallic armor contacted soft tissue, rending whatever it touched and crushing the structures it hit underneath. Pain would have quickly gone away, however--if this continued hitting for but a few moments, it would destroy vital parts of Vapor's central nervous system.
Most bodies being unable to compensate for the extremely fast, rattling beatdown this sort of attack would give, Vapor would have two choices: Escape the attack and risk being maimed by the arms being knocked off balance, or be pounded into a wafer-thin pancake and die.
The mechanical piston-punching noise had only one competitor: the operator's laughing.
"Who's the crazy one NOW? Huh? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!"
It was quite an unsettling laugh... the vicious, sadistic man of steel apparently gave no quarter to anyone.

"Didn't you notice we're both insane?" Vapor asked in his mind.
"It's not like I have anything else to do." He replied to Metal's first comment.
No, he didn't have much else to do at all. he was going to die, and he knew it. Unless there was something inventive and deadly he could do.
Once again, Vapor evaded Metal Man's attack by Foggifying. he had really only one thing left to do- attack Metal man from inside him. It seemed impossible, but he would do it.
Using some more bizarre gas works, he made the oxygen the cyborg was breathing extremely unfiltered and pure. Metal didn't care as he lunged at Vapor, piston fists still swinging. Vapor then completely filled metal's body with oxygen while trying to evade metal man- putting it into him through his nose, his mouth, EYE SOCKET, all possible openings. Metal was still not diverted. He would be though.
As he lunged at the floating snake, he opened his mouth to say something, or yell a battle cry, or whatever. But vapor shot a jet of flame into his mouth, igniting all the pure oxygen he had just filled his body with. he continued to feed in the gas. Yes, metal man now had a bonfire burning inside his body. It was burning his lungs, stomach, brain, everything. his computer chips were being melted. and it wouldn't stop.

The man knew the damage was imminent. However, faster than he could react, the cooling systems in his body slapped into overdrive, putting out the fires and balancing things. The pain was felt, but was far from lethal thanks to advanced technology.
Metal Man took a moment to breathe in and exhale, before staring at Vapor with his enlarged left eye.
"Fool. My insides are not that easy to destroy! As long as my armor functions, I am unstoppable!"
He then leaned forward, throwing his body weight, and, seemingly, his forehead at Vapor--but it was not to be. He punched the ground and flipped himself into the air, then flying above the snake and eventually, diagonally behind his head. He smelled the fresh air from his burnt nostrils, his appearance looking a bit darker and more sinister from the charring.
He tasted the air a bit, judging the wind, and then floated down to where Vapor was.
"Get a load of THIS!"
The man's jet's engaged to maximum power. As Vapor was either fog, oxygen, or some other gas, he would probably appreciate the horrifying sensibilities of what happens when that's heated up.
The weakly connected molecules in any gas, especially Vapor, generally expands when it is heated. Being exposed to the great heat of the moment, Vapor's very being would feel like it was ripping apart, disintegrating. If it were even mildly flammable, it'd have been combusted away.
The man floated there, relentlessly chasing his foe if he tried to vanish. If he tried to get close he'd back away this time--it would be questionable if he could fool Metal Man like he did earlier again.
The man's burnt visage stared piercingly at his foe, judging him subhuman and foolish. His teeth stuck out and a nasty way as he had his burnt tongue poking out just a little--the look of one who is concentrating, or at least the look of Metal Man's concentration.
He had nary a care for the horrible fuel consumption.

(btw, the mind is a seperate entity from the body in this case, which explains much)
"Assuming your armor functions, that is." Vapor said to Metal Man, which metal could not believe. However, Metal's insideds were still charred, and his cooling systems going into overdrive stole from his energy.
As Metal predicted, Vapor did indeed turn to gas, and Metal tried to roast him--and he was succeeding. Escept that vapor felt no pain. Water does not have pain receptors. So Vapor didn't mind when he went beyond gas, into the 4th phase: Plasma. He actually used it to his advantage.
Metal was feeling grim satisfaction from turning his foe to plasma, as he though the gas being's mind was screaming in pain. the plasma, however, sisn't feel a thing, as it leaped up onto Metal Man's face, while it still had the tremendous heat, and leaped in through the cyborg's eye sockets-severely damaging his eyes. And Vapor was then heading for what might have been the most crucial point to hit: Metal's brain.
Inside metal man's metal head, the plasma was sloshing round everywhere, melting both halves of his mind, human and mechanical. He was losing some important nervous functions already, and his computer brain was also slowly losing control of many of metal's cyborg parts, including the cooling systems and jets. Vapor felt himself turning to gas, so he quickly seeped back out the way he came in, which was larger now due to Metal's eyes being quite melted away. He resolidified outside of Metal's body, which was now losing control- not going insane, just going into nothing-malfunctioning, that is to say. He could hardly move due to his destroyed brain. Vapor watched as Metal slowly began to turn off.

Yet like some sort of monster, the armor stood up, wholly unimpressed despite the grievous damage inflicted. His foe had assumed that his brain was the only controller and only place for neural circuitry. Without eyes he merely switched systems, and continued speaking. It was quite unnerving with the top part of his fleshy skull basically burnt away.
"You have fallen for the oldest trick in the book." He flicked a hand. "I am more machine than man. My flesh is here to fool you." He began laughing, it echoing oddly now that there was more space in his helmet.
"So it seems you cannot feel pain in your form. Very well. I shall simply have to destroy you instead."
The man looked at the plasma, which was now solid. It was still phase shifting, making it vulnerable to sudden changes in temperature and/or environment.
So what did he do? He ripped up a piece of rock and hurled it so fast it exploded when it reached Vapor.
He walked up and strafed it with flame mid-phase shift, burning some of the flesh as it solidified.
Then he took off one of his hands and doused the half-liquid, half-solid being with his cooling fluid; this was so cold it could freeze him entirely solid lickety split. The cyborg was cooled with stuff comparable to liquid nitrogen! No wonder why he hadn't been killed earlier.
It was no lie that Metal Man had been seriously damaged, but he moved quickly to do the same to his foe before he could begin to lose some sensitivity due to his automated backup systems.
The now solidified, most likely lumpy, patches missing, maybe even melted-looking Vapor was now rather brittle if he had been effectively hit by the ice. The perfect time to coup de grace him.
Metal Man used the last of a failing energy reserve (much being eaten by his emergency backups) to grab the right arm of Vapor, extend it out, then punch it so viciously it might just snap off and/or in two, or break horribly otherwise. Then he kneed the being in the torso hard enough to make a hole in it.
Finally, expending the last of his effort, he punched the being in the head so hard it could go right into it if it hit properly, and holding the person aloft (if he hit) he would then promptly detonate the fist, inside the most likely brittle, frozen person, creating one of the nastiest antipodes known to man.
Perhaps he felt no pain as such destructive temperature change and explosion combined had the potential to blast him into frozen debris, unable to phase shift until defrosted and yet partially defrosted on other bits... and burnt completely on others.
Not to mention some re-frozen by the fluid gushing forth again, a blue-ish quicksilver which seemed to suck the heat out of the air itself.
The Metal Man replaced his visor to hide his obvious head-related deformities, and then began to limp away.
"You use a lot of tricks, kid. Tricks don't do you any good. You used them up too fast. When you save them up like me, you can simply counter away people like you. No problem, though--I just hope you don't die too permanently--I would like to kill you again some day."
Metal Man made a portal, assumably to some home base, and vanished before anything else could enter. Not that they would--a defense system in the warp would send unidentified particles into the center of a certain sun marked as "highly interesting."
OOC--And that ends my part in the battle. Again, that's my writing, interpret as you like.

After metal survived getting his BRAAAAIINS melted away, Vapor now cared about nothing but survival. Which is what he should do.
As Metal blasted the flame out at the still changing Vapor, He tried to save himself by summoning the blue fluid once again, and it went in between him and the blast just as the blaze hit him. good thing, because it would be the last thing he would be able to do for a while.
The substance somewhat hindered the impact of the flames. it did not hinder the cooling fluid, strangely, and it was frozen onto Vapor's bizarre between-state form, which felt pretty damn weird. It would save his life, though.
When Metal pulled the arm out and hit it viciously, it did indeed seem to fly off. And he did indeed seem to make a hole in the torso. and his fist did indeed explode in Vapor's face.
By the slimmest of luck, the fluid made the arm and the torso snap back right into their places, with no breaking seen. same for the head. The vicious cyborg did not notice this, due to his melted eyes, when he stepped into the portal and left his parting remark.
Hours later, the fluid thawed, and Vapor finally changed back into his normal body. his body was still severely injured, of course, but he had his arm. and his head. and all of his torso. a bizarre gelatin had saved him, and he was thankful. However, Vapor could hardly move due to exhaustion and so then took a nap. but he had survived.

OoC: That was a great return battle! it really showed me some stuff about me and this character especially. Thank You.
By the way, would you mind if I had Selene judge this? I want to see how my writin' is.
