Battle Attempt 15 Million (Open Challenge)

#1

Post by Metal Man » Mon Mar 03, 2008 6:36 pm

Hey there. This is an open challenge. Challenger brings in their own arena (I.E. writes it in their intro) and I respond. One person only, of course. I don't care who responds; first to respond gets it.

I do hope there is somebody left who can challenge me, as my mental energies sit around unused here at the moment.

you're on!

Inferno approached the ruins of the village of Volcana. it was once a thriving village of half-dragons that now lays in ruin. the houses burnt out and the charred bodies of the slain men women and children of the village still litter the ground. the parched earth and the red skies of the fire region create a disturbing sight that sends a wave of sorrow and fear through those who have not entered this village before. a single path leads to the only building still standing that isn't completely burned out, which is the mayor's manor. still in ruins on the inside, this mansion conceals a single stasis chamber deep within the bowels of the mansion which holds a beautiful half dragon girl with a fatal wound to her gut. it's location cannot be found except by Inferno, the love of this frozen girl.

the half-dragon king proceeds down the path towards the mayor's manor, clutching a bouqet of red roses in one hand to place on flair's shrine within. he pushed open the heavy door with great ease and approached the small shrine to his beloved Flair. Inferno lit the candles there by touching the wicks with his clawed finger and placed the roses beneath her photo. Inferno got on his knees and clasped his hands together. he closed his eyes as a tear trickled down his human face.

Inferno: Flair, I have finally avenged your death. but I still seek for the artifact that will revive you. I promise I will bring you back, my love.

A strange laughter echoed in the distance of the large room. The sound of metallic footsteps clacked in from the great beyond. Various points of light shone on the wall. Was it...?

No. It was a man wearing shiny chromed armor. Standing 7" with his thick boots on, he resembled a streamlined human. A mix between the medieval knight and the modern battle tank. He had a blue visor which obscured most of his face, that which showed revealing an evil grin and a crooked nose, and piercing blue eyes. The most visible eye seemed to be winking, or perhaps twitching.

He stopped for a moment; one could see his velvet-esque orange cape and extremely broad shoulders. The metallic armor made him bigger, slower, and heavier than his real form; it could also be seen that it compensated for some flaws in his own body, as he spun an obviously robotic left hand at the wrist like it was some sort of revolving Christmas tree. He made a metallic noise as he craned his neck at Inferno, staring deeply at him.

In truth, he was scanning Inferno for weaknesses and likely battle tactics. The anonymous bidder had given him a rather high price, so high that he was willing to go it without doing a background check on either the target or the bidder. Perhaps uncharacteristic, but after Metal Man had seen what he had, he didn't care anymore.

He rose up his arm and that spinning hand and pointed at Inferno, not dropping a single beat, as he spoke in a deep, metallic voice.

"Thou art a smoochy mourner, aren't thee? Well, it's just a shame that thou art about to die a horrible death, courtesy of an anonymous bidder. That's life for you, I guess. Oh, wait. Death."

He burst out laughing at his own nasty joke, as he then made a strange buzzing noise. Two red sighting lasers were projected by hidden devices just above the visor as he fully targeted Inferno. He then stood there. Wryly, he pointed at the ceiling.

"I hope you aren't attached to this place. Even if you survive, the places I fight in... they tend to explode."

The hideous grin grew larger as he awaited his foe's attack.

the dragon/saiyan hybrid simply stood up ant turned to the man in the armor. Inferno had a serious look on his face as he looked the bounty hunter in the eyes.

Inferno: you have some nerve tresspassing on hallowed dragonic ground. but I wouldn't expect any respect for the fallen from the likes of you bounty hunter. how much is he offering for my head this time, five billion in gold? I've almost gotten used to these little training matches that my uncle sets up for me. oh, you didn't think you were the first to come after me did you? I'm sorry to tell you but nineteen others have tried to kill me for the bounty before you showed up, and all of them failed.

Inferno aproached the man in the high tech armor confidently and drew his katana from it's sheath.

Inferno: just a fair warning, you may want to take that armor off before you face me, because it's about to get much warmer in there.

*inferno quickly knocked the spinning hand out of the way with his enchanted blade and grabbed the other arm of the armored man and smiled as he began to raise the temprature of the metal just by gripping it. the armor on the man's left arm began to glow red hot, then orange, the yellow, then white hot before the metal finally ignited! Inferno let go and leapt back, aiming his katana at the armored warrior as his sword began to glow and then ignite as a spiral of flames surrounded the blade.

Inferno: scorching spiral flames!

a beam of red fire energy surrounded by a spiral of dragonfire cut through the air as it blazed towards Inferno's enemy at an alarming speed, super heating the air around it as it continued on it's path to the armored man.

The man stared at his left arm, almost as if to say "So what?". It would become obvious when the man snickered, holding his glowing arm like a weapon.

"My armor is insulated, but thanks for the weapon anyway."

He flexed his fingers, then noting the superheated beam of red fire energy flying at him. He quickly sidestepped, the energy burning his right shoulder some. He looked at the burnt and partially melted part of his armor, and then spun his left hand.

"Cinematics won't save you from me, bub."

He walked directly towards Inferno, his left arm still glowing almost as if it was radioactive, and burning. Apparently the metal was isolated from his flesh in such a matter that, as long as it wasn't destroyed, it didn't really matter how hot it got. Of course, it was rather soft in this state, but he didn't really worry. He clanked and clutched his way up to Inferno and then threw a mean left hook with his flaming fist. As his fist flew the air he twitched a little and then suddenly pulled back a bit and leaned forward quickly, swinging the right one at Inferno.

However that one was never intended to hit; instead, it sent him flying to the right, during which he pulled his left arm back, revealing razor-sharp elbow blades, which were now also on fire. Those he aimed to rake across Inferno's face; then, stopping almost on a dime, he held his position slightly after that and put out his right hand, which shot a jet of flame.

The massive man of steel slid backwards, causing the elbow blades to once again fly at Inferno's face, as he then ducked down and hurled a punch at Inferno's gut as he slid to his right and again took up a defensive stance.

He then raised the glowing, burning left arm, and shook his fist, as all the heat somehow moved to that fist.

"You think you can just melt me? My melting point is far above the range of your silly little candle flames."

He concentrated the energy and chucked it before him at the floor, creating a massive explosion. Razor-like shards of the ground crashed everywhere as the smell of brimstone and smoke filled the air. Only the silhouette of the man could be seen in the smoke--and that glowing blue visor, which indicated that he was smiling... smiling... ...smiling like the psychotic man he was.

Inferno quickly regained his composer from being punched in the gut after narrowly dodging the elbow blades of the armor.

Inferno: heh, impressive. too bad fire cant hurt me, then again you're just toying with me. you know I have my own weapons like your blades.

Inferno charged at the armored man and rammed his elbow into the armored man's gut and in an instant the armored man felt a sharp pain in his gut. hle looked at inferno as he pulled his elbow from the wound, revealing a retractable curved crimson spike protruding from his elbow. the spike withdrew into his elbow as he smirked and grabbed the still white hot white hot arm of the armor, feeling that the armor had weakened here and smirked.

Inferno: I wasn't trying to melt this armor on your arm, just soften it enough to do this!

Inferno dug his claws into the shoulder joint of the ignighted arm of the armor and pulled with all his strength. the crackle of circuitry and the sickening groan of the metal echoed through the hall as Inferno forcably tore the arm section of the armor from the main armor, leaving deep claw marks on the arm of the deranged armored warrior as the white hot metal was ripped away in a single motion. inferno then raked the burning arm armor's blades across the visor before shattering the softened metal on the ground.

Inferno: I fear you have underestimated your opponent's strength, but I can't say I blame you, you probably didn't know what I was. you see, I am a hybrid of a dragon and a saiyan, the offspring of a saiyan woman who once gave birth to a great saiyan named kakurott before coming here.

Inferno then slammed his fist into his opponent's chin with a strong uppercut and quickly slamming the warrior into the wall with his powerful tail. Inferno leapt back and fired off a volly of dragonfire fireballs to try and weaken the rest of the armor.

Naturally, the Saiyan Dragon superman wanted to believe he had done horrendous damage, but the smoke had obscured his vision. The arm's metal was slashed and dented, and a slash did scrape the side of the man's helmet. The retractable spike had pierced one layer of armor, only to bounce off of... a second???

The man of steel did not show pain, but rather he shook a finger at his foe, emerging from the smoke looking different from what his enemy had believed him to be.

"I don't need any sort of fancy heritage to kill people or show people who's boss. I bet ten pounds of gold that your genetics are no match for actual fighting prowess."

He laughed again, his raucous laughter seeming all the more condescending as his eyes stared from the cracked visor. Although a punch had hit him in the chin, he was too heavy to push all the way into the wall, even with the tail. He talked directly into and through the dragonfire fireballs, punching them away with his fists, which appeared to be much tougher than his foe may have expected. Upon reaching his foe he then backhanded him in the face (or at leasty tried to) and then lashed out at his right hip with his right knee.

He then raised his damaged left hand. Before anyone could see what was going on, it lashed out quickly left and right, the still intact metallic fist acting like a nasty mace. He threw this motion at his combatants face, the smell of musty metallic joints and oil being readily heard.

The man cracked his neck and then violently jerked back and to the right, before throwing a feint at Inferno's left cheek with his right elbow--rather he was setting up for something else. He made an uppercut to the left of where Inferno was with his left arm and then all of a sudden made a motion like he had tripped.

But he hadn't. Instead, the clanking, shining, metallic dent-filled man had fallen over in such a way as to crack the ground itself and make a small earthquake. Assuming his foe hadn't been tripped by that, though, the man swiped at his feet with his left leg and then rolled back before lobbing a giant chunk off the ground at his foe and standing up again, his shark-like white teeth shining in the visor. He extended an open palm to the right.

"He who does not fight as their true self... dies."

Inferno shattered the slab of earth headed towards him with a strong kick before leaping to his feet.

Inferno: heh, my heritage may have something to do with my freakish strength, but it has nothing to do with my skills as a fighter. and besides, I seem to be mooving a bit fast for you, is that armor too heavy for you? why don't you fight me without it, that is, if you think you can defeat me as your true self.

Inferno began to charge up a ball of dragonfire infused with hellfire burning white in his hand.

Inferno: heh, you know they named me Inferno for a reason, it's not just because I can weild fire as easily as a sword or any other weapon, but rather the kind of fire I can bring up to use, more specificly the two hottest kinds of fire, dragonfire, and hellfire! why don't you see for yourself.

Inferno charged at the armored man again and smashed his dragonic hellfire into the chest of the armored warrior, almost instantly spreading to the rest of the first layer of armor and causing it to glow white hot while being ablaze with the dragonic hellfire, almost to a melting point from the looks of it but the armor stayed sturdy, albeit much softer than it used to be.

Inferno then leapt back and smiled at the armored warrior, wanting to rip apart that first layer of armor to fight this bounty hunters true self. Inferno brought his hands back to one side and taking a familiar stance that his half-brother kakurott knew all too well. he began to charge up a ball of strong ki energy infused with dragonfire.

Inferno: this should shatter the rest of that first layer of armor. dragonfire....

the armored warrior wasted no time in charging at Inferno attempting to interrupt the attack, but Inferno was ready and side stepped the armored warrior as he charged past Inferno.

Inferno Kaaa meeee haaa meee HAAAAAAA!!!!!

Inferno thrust the ball of dragonfire ki at the armored warrior who spun around just in time to feel the impact of the beam of firey energy which slammed him through the western wall of the main hall to the outside. Inferno charged after the armored warrior through the hole in the western wall with sword drawn ready to impale him with a piercing strike once he caught up to him.

The man of steel took various hits of beams and rays and fire. However, his first layer of armor was by far his strongest; there would be no logical reason for him to wear it otherwise, as it was very heavy and made him an easy target. It dutifully took blow after blow, cracking and denting and losing chips from time to time, but not fully failing yet. The man stared and shrugged at his foe.

"The only people who see what's under this are usually about to die. Consider yourself lucky I didn't trigger it early just to show you the foolishness of your request."

He then steadied himself after having moved enough that the piercing strike did not impale him. In truth, impaling him wouldn't have done much, and he figured he might as well get his opponent up close.

Instead he threw an extremely heavy right hook as his foe was still moving forward at him, before then advancing upon his foe if he was thrown back. Either way, he'd get back into his foe's face and then hurl a volley of punches--left-right -right-left-knee-elbow-headbutt-knee-left... it was almost too fast to see. How could he do it?

The telltale damage to both arms, especially his left, revealed that he had layers upon layers of servos and armor in his suit, made such that no one system would fail immediately and that there would always be a couple backups ready in case of the worst. His foe had spent most of his time trying to melt this extremely over-engineered armor, and it was time mostly wasted, as the fists of steel flew at his foe's face like white on rice.

The volley would continue until his foe had either run out of range, taken most of them, or something else blocked it. The man would then stare at his foe's face, with a blank expression.

"You're afraid of reality, aren't you? You've got to hide behind your titles and names and genes and claims to fame to fight me. I'll crack you in two and hurl your pieces off a cliff, weak one."

He simultaneously cracked the joints in both his hands (in reality simply lubricating them, since they were obviously cybernetic) and then went for a grab. A grab at both of Inferno's arms. It was unknown what would happen next; if he grabbed him, he would attempt to follow up his words by attempting to knee Inferno in the stomach and literally (vertically) rip him in two, which of course could be stopped by enough resistance, though if he did that then it'd send Inferno backwards a foot or two and with damage to a number of joints.

If he dodged it then the man would simply laugh and reach for his shoulder, before hurling not one, but three shrapnel grenades, onto the floor immediately before him, causing a rippling explosion of sharp metal points and fire and smoke. The smell of oily joints, fire, and sweat would be in the air from this, and the Metal Man vanishing once again into it, appearing only as a silhouette.

Regardless of which of the two outcomes occurred, the man would then go forth and speak;

"One must know themself before they can beat their enemy."

Following this would be yet another shrapnel grenade, thrown directly at Inferno's face.

Inferno had dodged the breaking grip, but not the shrapnel grenades, the sharp barbs pierced into his tough orange skin and as he opened his eyes another grenade flew at his face, but he was ready for this one.

Inferno: not this time!

Inferno quickly caught the grenade and crushed it in his hand, detonating it instantly. the shrapnel from the manually detonated device embeded in his right hand, he opened his fist and dropped what remained of the grenade at his feet. small trikles of blood flowed from his wounds, blood dripping from his right palm.

Inferno: that hurt, but I've endured far worse pain than that. no physical pain can compare to losing the only woman you've ever loved through an act of irrational hatred and wickedness. you claim that I do not fight as my true self but you are wrong. I know exactly who I am, I know exactly what I am. I'm the only one on this entire damn planet that's willing to stand up to the darkness that constantly threatens my world! it's because of my uncle that we're fighting, and it's because of him that I can't live a live of peace with the only woman that will ever truely love a freak of a prince like me because he took that away! he's the one who hired those murderous dragon slayers that slaughtered this village and killed my love flair! he's the one who hired you and all those other bounty hunters to kill me.

as Inferno spoke his spiky crimson hair stood strait up and turned gold, his eyes changed to an aqua green and a firey golden aura appeared around him. at the mention of the dragon slayers more golden spikes appeared on his head and blue sparks could be seen darting around him within the golden aura.

Inferno: my uncle has put my family, my friends and this entire planet in danger in his vindetta against me.

Inferno disappeared and reappeared behind the man of steel and sheathed his sword before locking the armored man in a bear hug, squeezing hard to try and cause some kind of internal dammage, but the armored man broke free of Inferno's grip and spun around, taking a swing at Inferno but the punch was dodged and inferno grabbed the wrist of the man of steel. digging his claws deep into the white hot first layer of armor, Inferno ripped away the chest and back armor in a fit of rage then the same was done to the remaining arm and leg armor as he let out a terrifying roar thet echoed across the fire region. finally, he lifted his opponent into the air by his helmet and slammed him face first into the ground, shattering the visor and cracking the helmet upon the forcefull impact.

Inferno: now quit toying with me and fight me like you mean it! practice what you preach and fight me as your true self!

The man stood there for a moment, and then pulled at his shoulder, pulling otu something flattened. It was... another visor. He stuck it back into place and straightened out his helmet, fusing it back together with the immense heat from all the fire involved. Inferno had thought he had ripped away all the armor, but in truth he did not know how thick it was--he had merely ripped away a portion of it, revealing streaks of some other armor beneath. However, for him to rip it all away he would have to keep attacking.

The man responded to the dramatic speech with but one word.

"No."

He then viciously slammed his right fist into the glowing man's face, or at least tried to, attempting to knock him backwards. He would then glare at the man, breathing heavily and his teeth clenched in a snarling rictus.

"You claim to be everything but you are nothing. We all are born to die and your pretense to being above that is worthless. You have not suffered true pain until you have been reduced to a state such as I; for you have your true form intact and then some. I do have another form, but I do not reveal it..."

He smirked, picking up the broken visor and holding it up like some lost relic.

"Because I believe you're too good a subject to merely kill right off the bat. It just... would be dishonorable. No offense, but you're so into your mumbo jumbo that it'd be a crying shame to see you die right after your climactic speech. No, I think we'll be fighting for a while yet."

He tossed it over his shoulder, it shattering harmlessly on the ground as the angry face had melted into one of utter confidence. He strode right up to his foe and then spun his hand like a drill, exotically flailing it and his arm around to slash and drill his foe, and disorient him--he was moving it around like his arm was broken, even though it wasn't. Sometime during that whole mess he then boosted up into the air and did a backflip.

"It is the illusion of my weakness which makes me strong. You become angry because you think I am holding back. Which I am. Therefore your anger weakens you. But me... I become stronger with every weak threat, every pathetic attempt to justify your worthless existence. Let me solve your invalid equation for you."

He held up both his arms, as they glowed a bit... ..but instead of some super attack, he merely fell back to earth with the impressive weight of himself and his armor, fists-first, flinging every punch he could but not too much, at his foe. He relied on his foe's anger to distract him from them, as he made wild, erratic, even crazy punches from all angles.

After eventually either being thrown off or bouncing off or smushing Inferno (or even missing him with the landing but still punching at him) he would twist a valve, letting out a hiss of steam. The heat would vanish from his remaining layer 1 armor, giving him the appearance of a striped man made of steel. He made a beckoning gesture with his right hand, writing 'I > You' on his forehead.

"Come, show me you are this fake person you claim to be. Defeat me in my vastly inferior normal form!"

He laughed again, it echoing against the burnt smelling ground and the empty, deserted wasteland surrounding the two fighters.

after watching such a display, Inferno just stared at him for a moment before bursting out in laughter at what he just saw, every attack missing, almost as if he was missing inferno on purpose.

Inferno: oh wow, that was really funny. you should think about becomming a jester, my dad has need of one for our kingdom. I must admit your methods are a bit, umm... unorthodox, but you had me going there for a while. I was playing right into your trap, getting angry to make you stronger and almost blinding me to that. WOW. but thanks for telling me your plan.

Inferno simply smiled at him and began to juggle three dragonfire fireballs.

Inferno: but you know what really makes me mad? fighting someone who is far stronger than I am, you know, someone that could proove to be hard to defeat. that really pisses me off to no end.

The man was unmoved by Inferno Dragoon's magical dodging action. Instead he came at him once again, smiling.

"Yet you think you can turn my strategy against me? All you have done is exactly what I would want."

The man walked right back up to him as he was juggling the fireballs. He hurled a strong kick at Inferno's gut and then three furious punches, left-right-left in order, at his face. Regardless of whether they missed, he leaped to the left and hurled another kick at Inferno's midsection and then threw a backhand at the back of Inferno's head.

"You are incapable of fooling me with your weak imitation of my own great ability to confuse people. Dodge all my attacks you want, but it shall not change the fact that you are incapable of dodging my other attacks, of which you even relentlessly run into them in some sort of furious foolishness."

He laughed again.

"Now, show me how cowardly you are! Dodge everything! I will not mind." He cracked a hand. "I'll just keep throwing punches while you needlessly tire yourself into oblivion."

The man advanced yet again, and it was most obvious he was throwing even more punches at Inferno, unphazed by what he had said.

OOC: sorry for the delay in my post, my comp at home is on the fritz, so until it's fixed I'm limited to posting while I'm at school.

Inferno had let his guard down for his sarcastic comment towards the man of steel, something he rarely does and it was because of this that Inferno was now sprawled out on the ground on his back from the furious barrage of punches and the single kick to his gut.

Inferno: *cough* ugh... don't you know sarcasm when you hear it.

Inferno got to his feet and looked over to the strange opponent of his.

Inferno: just what do you want from me? you keep saying to fight as my true self, and yet you refuse to do the same. I've lost the only thing, the only person in this universe that I've ever truely cared about and when I list her I lost everything. sure I have a title as prince, and I have these great saiyan and dragon bloodlines, and unimaginable wealth that my family has acumulated since my ancester King Draco, but I don't care about any of that, I just want Flair back. I'd willingly give everything I had just to have her back, to hold her again, but that won't happen any time soon.

Inferno took to the air and heald out a hand aimed at the man in metal. a sphere of yellow dragonfire appeared around Inferno, with balls of red, orange, green, blue, indigo, and violet dragonfire began to circle the sphere surrounding inferno.

Inferno: I don't experience anger as much as I do sorrow now that flair is gone. it's my sorrow that drives me to fight because I don't wish for anyone else to suffer an unending pain and sadness like I have. I remember you saying that I'm afraid of reality, but I know all too well how harsh reality is, and I know true pain already, I guess that's why physical pain doesn't mean much to me, I just brush it off because it's nothing compared to true pain. but I guess I've talked long enough.

the sphere that encased Inferno then mooved to his hand, revealing that Inferno had changed again, now his hair had grown to the length of his tail and his eyebrows were gone. he had a very serious look about him as he glared at the man of metal and fired off the giant yellow dragonfire ball with it's orbiting multicolored fireballs. the thing sped towards the armored opponent and engulfed him in a matter of seconds before collapsing in on itself and exploding in a massive erruption of multicolored dragonfire that would have melted all but the hardest of metals and diamonds. Inferno landed as the smoke cleared still glaring at his foe through the smoke.

Inferno: show your true self, and if you killed me in your true form you'd be doing me a favor by ending my suffering.

The man of steel's armor showed the attack heading at him, the reflection a sinister one. Yet despite the massive amount of dents and dings, and even outright missing pieces in it, he still had a determined look on his face. He clenched his right fist as he saw the massive energy object coming at me. He had but a few moments to dodge. Defiantly, he walked right at it, mouthing off a pithy remark.

"Like someone who knows their true self needs a gigantic, overpowered fireball to make their point."

The fireball hit him, and of course it was posited that it had the power to melt anything, and that it would, naturally, magically remove his armor.

The problem was that his armor was well insulated and thick. Certainly the transfer of heat melted off some outer parts, and indeed he was burnt on his flesh some. But he had suffered worse, and he wasn't about to use his 'true form' against somebody who was too busy mourning the dead to notice who he was fighting.

He walked out of the explosion, pointing at the dragon-saiyan hybrid.

"Do you want cheese with that whine?"

He raised the fist again.

"'Cause you're gonna need some liquor when I'm done with you!"

The man bent his knees, and then leapt up to his foe with a rocketing uppercut. He spun a bit as he rose up, aiming to drill his erstwhile superpowered opponent with his mundane application of speed and force. Once up there, he flicked his arms back, a gesture which apparently automatically turned on his jets. Now floating across from his foe, he announced the name of what he would do next.

"Thou hast not prepared thyself for the IRON STORM!!!"

All of a sudden, the man began throwing punch after punch at his foe. This would be like the other one, only he wasn't holding back--well, as far as one cannot hold back with 2/3 of their normal, heavy, armor on still.

He used his arms, his legs, his knees--throwing out punch after kick, hovering around, above, and below his foe while doing so. He was still using the most mundane attacks, although this practical application brought in a good deal of force. Each punch, amplified by servos and a skillful application of aim, alongside the fact the hands were made of steel, could very easily break bone, smash cartilage, snap off limps, twist off joints, and most importantly, knock one flying.

The man did not relent in his attack, even if his foe tried to flee or attacked back. He would punch through anything thrown at him--and why not, because he had decided the only way to put an end to his foe's noise making was to smash him into the pavement.

Repeatedly.

Inferno, now in his super saiyan 3 form, realized what his opponent was about to do and began to deflect the punches and kicks with swift movements of his hands and arms knowing that just one hit landing might cause alot of internal damage or worse, break bone and dislocate his joints, if not taking them off completely. Inferno could tell this man of metal wouldn't be stopping his assault anytime soon so he had to keep up this deflecting act until he could find a weak point in this attack pattern.

Inferno: heh, so you've finally decided to fight me seriously for a change. good, I was getting tired of your act anyway. it was entertaining for a while but it got prety old prety fast. but just so you know, if I reach my omega form, there is very little that can stop me once that happens.

Inferno kept watching for a weak point in the iron storm attack pattern when for just a brief moment there was an opening, but disappeared just as soon as it appeared. as the fast and strong attacks continued to cycle Inferno saw the brief opening and took it, slamming his fist into the incomming fist from his opponent, hearing the crunch of metal and the whine of straining servos as he had the fist of his foe stopped in it's own tracks before slamming his other fist into the hole made in the first layer of armor earlier in the battle, hearing the crunch of metal again as he smirks knowing his opponent's iron-clad offense was now broken. Inferno then began to slam his opponent with powerful punches and kicks before sending him crashing to the ground with a double axe handle smash to the back side of the base of his neck.

Inferno decended from the skies in front of the metal man, keeping just above the ground as a deep fissure opened below him, lava bubbling to the surface and flowing out of the fissure and around Inferno in circles.
Inferno readied himself for what was about to come next, whatever it was.

The man of steel had taken a significant blow, which he had budgeted for prior. As his opponent had shown, a repetitive attack pattern was prone to being picked. Although he had taken a while to do it. The Metal Man spent a moment being amused by this fact, before laughing at his foe.

"My punches and kicks can hold back a level 3 Saiyan? Why, you shouldn't be so happy. My true power could reduce you to ashes! I don't think I'll need to use that against you."

He tapped his armor.

"After all, unlike you, I have been living with a steel shell atop me the whole time. My muscles have compensated for it. Grown large and thick. If it were removed, a single poke could send you flying."

Then he broke a capsule against his head, which filled in some gaps in his armor.

"But I'd rather limit my strength and use my innately stronger intelligence to rip you to pieces... which I shall do right now."

He snickered again and then jetted up to and around Inferno, making no attack.

"It would be dishonorable for the one with the great advantage to attack first, and thus, end the battle." He pointed at Inferno. "Therefore, I humbly request you hit me first." He then landed on the ground, standing perfectly still. "Please, hit me with all your might, if you can even call it that. My old battle scars itch, and you just so happen to posess enough might to scratch them properly."

He then broke out into raucous laughter. It made one wonder, who or what had twisted this man's mind? He looked especially demonic as the red firery lava reflected off his still-shiny, pockmarked, dented, scratched, lumpty, horribly damaged armor and with a filled in hole in one area.

The smell of burnt sulfur was in the air as the man basically waved hello to what should be an avatar of pure destruction.

Inferno: heh, well I guess I can stop holding back now.

Inferno vanished and appeared behind the man of steel, punching him in the back of the head with such force that his visor shattered... again. this was followed by a kick to the back that sent him flying. Inferno then appeared in front of his opponent and punched the refilled area of his armor with enough force to make that hole again and this time filling it with magma flowing from his fist and sealed it off by jamming a red stone into the magma filled hole.

Inferno: let's see how long it takes for that magma to eat through your lower layers of metal, I'm curious.

Inferno then kicked his opponent in the chest with a sickening crunch of metal under his foot. and then sped after his opponent and grabbing him by the back of the neck. still flying he turned towards one of the volcanoes of the region and dragged his opponent's unprotected face along the ground, scraping it up pretty bad until reaching the volcano's base where Inferno tossed his opponent into the air and with a swift yet powerful swing of his tail, the metal man came crashing to the ground, making a deep crater upon impact. Inferno smirked knowing that now he had the advantage of the terrain going for him as well as him not holding back anymore.

Inferno: how's that magma in your gut?

The man hit the ground, and then stood up, wordlessly. He idly detached his right hand, and shook his arm. Out came molten lava. To an extent.

He put the hand on after a second. He had been severely burned; however, this was the norm for him, as his wrecked body had been repeatedly blown up and put together as-is. It would be apparent he had long ago been unhinged by pain, and that this was just one more bump on the road.

Yet there was something odd about his smile as the lava mysteriously hardened, filling all the cracks that had been caused and reinforcing his armor.

He stretched a bit, moving to knock out the bits in the way of joints, and then spoke, idly taking out another visor and snapping it over his helmet.

"You don't know how to kill people, do you, Mr. Inferno? It's a shame, because you show so much potential, but it gets lost in your show. If that lava was going to kill me, the ambient heat from being near it alone would have already. Furthermore, we have already discussed how my armor is insulated from one another. I am a man made of steel. In case you forgot, steel and other metals are a more refined version of this rocky liquid you think will melt me."

He paused to drink from an, astonishingly, neither superheated nor destroyed flask.

"Yet my armor is composed of a number of nanotechnology-pioneered materials which happen to not melt easily. Indeed, it is my limited organic flesh you seek to harm when you do this--but it does not last long enough to kill me, for my cooling systems dispatch it. You must remember the amount of heat I make simply walking around before you believe that will kill me."

He then put the flask away, solemnly screwing the cap on and looking as if he was headed to a funeral.

"Unfortunately, this is where the road ends for you, Inferno. I do not need to use my true form to fight you, or perhaps anyone. The truth is, you've been fighting against me all this time under an illusion I was weak against fire."

He looked down a little, creating a bright flash on his visor.

"In fact, my armor is super effective against fire, and you have been wasting your time. Why, a single jolt would do what all your fire attacks combined have done to me. Granted, your kinetic ones dealt far more..."

He moved around, tapping the hardened rock.

"...But you just gave me replacement armor to an extent with rock. It's not as good, but it'll do."

He then spun his hand, chuckling. His face was scratched up, but somehow or another it wasn't bleeding.

"I wonder what would happen if... you suddenly were to stop breathing."

An odd question; why say that to a Saiyan?

The Man did not explain. Instead he chucked out a bomb at the ground. Yet while it made a furious burning noise... no real exploding occured.

...Until it became obvious when all the fires and oxygen-driven things stopped occurring.

"There is now no oxygen for you to breathe. Naturally, you won't know how I did it, or care to hear the explanation. If I know you, you probably have a way around it. That's why I brought this."

He shrugged, stomping on the device and sending it under the ground.

He then tossed another one in for good measure.

"See, a volcano has a magma chamber which controls the entire volcano. This town happens to probably be right above one, right?"

The man chuckled as he took out a shiny silver detonator... ...and put it away.

"Rather than childishly try to kill you with my own force, I have decided to give you a more tectonic death. Behold... the power of technology."

He stepped forward for a second. Then... the ground rippled.

...The entire TOWN rippled.

Suddenly, the ground beneath Inferno... imploded.

The sound of something rapidly imploding could be heard below. The small pinhole that irresistably sucked Inferno in towards what looked like magma revealed a vast, empty chamber... ..where all that lava had been sitting before, and quite a bit more carved out just now! (Especially more if there hadn't been any lava there... Inferno would be best hoping there had been a volcano there before.)

"Now, you're going to tell me, 'But fire makes me strong! I don't need to worry!' You're quite right, except the composition of the things ABOVE and AROUND it... are made of the very thing you don't like. Rock."

As he said this, the entire town and the ground around it spontaneously collapsed, the Metal Man idly walking to the edge. The suction continued, although he wasn't effected.

"You know why they don't use these bombs on my home world? Nobody's quite heavy enough to resist its pull."

He then smiled evily at the insanely loud rock collapsing destruction he had created. The entire town being ripped to shreds and falling uselessly into the lava that Inferno, in part, had helped cause the problem in the first place, which was then apparently being sucked into a compact sphere of death.

"They only said that because the man who knew otherwise... died at my hands."

He laughed evily as the crescendo of destruction inexorably continued. The town would soon be annihilated, its would-be protector crushed beneath it, and all because he had to summon a bunch of lava to burn a bum.

Inferno: great, I was hoping I wouldn't need to do this so soon.

as Inferno fell towards the gravity well that was the implosion he snapped his fingers and was quickly surrounded by 13 pillars, at the top of which were crouching statues of his brothers and sisters. each statue shot out a ray of their respective elements of earth, wind, water, light, darkness, wood, steel, electricity, sand, crystals, ice, poison, and plasma, enfusing the elements into his being, turning his orange skin snow white with strange arcane markings all over his body that represented the fourteen elements that he and his siblings were enfused with as young children. Inferno's eyes had turned a pale yellow and his hair had returned to normal, though now a pale crimson.

Inferno flew strait at the gravity well and used a combination of light, dark, and earth to reverse the gravity well's pull into a push which refilled the magma chamber with lava and caused the implosion to disperse into an explosion. the force of the resulting gravatational reversal explosion sent Inferno flying out of the fissure and onto the surface, with most of the town still in tact.

Elemental Inferno: well that was entertaining, but again you should have done your research on me, bet you weren't expecting me to reverse your gravity bomb's gravatational pull were you. at least I know your resistance to fire, but because you're made of metal and that's electronic armor I can tell right away that you should have a weakness to water...

Inferno raised his hand and a stream of water shot from it with the force of a firehose knocking his opponent down and soaking him from head to toe in the aquatic substance.

E. Inferno: Ice...

Inferno raised his other arm and a cloud of gasious ice flew forth and froze all of the water that covered the metal man's armor.

E. Inferno: and of course metal, water, and ice don't mix well with electricity. so if a lightning bolt were to strike you you'd just become one big conductor for all that electrical power.

Inferno stopped the water works and the ice cloud and then raised two fingers into the air and a small stream of electricity shot into the air from his finger tips. a clap of thunder roared as a bolt of lightning pierced the sky and was immediately drawn to the ice covered man of metal, sending thousands of volts of electricity serging through his metallic body.

Inferno: this form is a gift from my thirteen siblings, their powers are mine until I unleash my ultimate technique. and I promise you I'll be introducing you to that attack later.
