Inferno Vs. the dragonslayer, the final battle begins (vs. holocost)

okay, like the title says, this is Inferno's last battle with the dragon slayers, more specificly their leader. the time has come for inferno to exact his vingence upon the murderer who killed his beloved Flair.

rules are the basic gunjin rules.

the battlefield will be where they first met, at the ruins of Flair's destroyed village. my opponent can have the first attack.

it had been five years since the destruction of the village by the dragon slayers, it had been five years since her death, and it had been five years since Inferno unlocked his power within.

a semi-muscular man approached the burned out village ruins. he had spikey crimson hair, orange skin similar in color to a soft flame, amber eyes which burned with a passion for battle, a kind yet strong face, blood red horns of a dragon, crimson claws of a dragon at the tips of his fingers, the crimson wings of a Dragon folded to his back, the feet of a dragon and two tails, one tail was that of a dragon and the other, was the tail of a monkey which wrapped around his waist like a belt. the only clothing this dragon hybrid wore was a pair of blue-jean shorts tattered at the end of the pant legs.

the hybrid looked over the ruins of the village, the homes of innocents still charred and blackened from the fires of the dragon slayers. the burned corpes of the murdered half dragons of this village, while decayed a little, still remained undisturbed. men, women, children, none were spared in the raid. Inferno approached the ruins at the end of the main street of the village and walked inside to the shrine he had made for Flair, his girlfriend who was also murdered on that day. he focused to the tip of his finger and a flame danced on kis finger tip. he touched the candles at his shrine for Flair and lit them before blowing the flame on his finger out.

Inferno knelt before the picture and thought of Flair as he looked at her. suddenly, he hears the clanking of armor heading towards him. Inferno spins around to see him, the head dragon slayer, Korgoth the Heartless. his elaborate dragon armor was black as pitch and his eyes were a piercing crimson. his long raven hair blew in a sudden gust of wisd as he stopped, smiling sinisterly at Inferno. Inferno got a horrified look on his face as memories of that day came flooding back to him.

[flashback] Korgoth stood before the entrance of the village with the blood of the innocent splattered across his armor laughing maniacally with his generals Rogan, who was clad in raven armor with short brown hair and Sindaro, who was clad in blood armor and had bright red hair that covered one eye. the village burned with the corpses of the innocent half-dragon citizens scattered about. Inferno and Flair had returned from a walk they had taken to find this horrifying sight.

Korgoth: well, it looks like we missed two of them.
Rogan: heh, why don't we have some fun with the girl before we kill her.
Sindaro: nah, I'm good, let's just kill them and get out of here.
Korgoth: hmm... kill the male, but I want to kill the female.
Inferno: Flair, get out of here, I'll hold them off!
Flair: but they'll kill you if you stay.
Inferno: don't worry about me flair, I just want to know you're safe.

Sindaro and Rogan rushed at Inferno and attempted to attack with their swords but Inferno quickly blocked their attack with his katana. the three of them fought on, their swords clashing over and over. Flair, not heeding Inferno's warning, stood there and watched her boyfriend defend her to the best of his ability. Korgoth smiled and walked steadily towards Flair who began running away from Korgoth but she tripped on a rock and fell. Korgoth quickly caught up with her and grabbed flair by her neck and lifted her into the air. Flair struggled in Korgoth's grip, but it was no use, she couldn't escape. Inferno saw Korgoth holding Flair by her neck out of the corner of his eye and tried to get to her but Sindaro and Rogan grabbed him by the arms to keep him from saving his love. Inferno watched helplessly as Korgoth the heartless stabbed Flair in the gut with his sword, driving it completely through her and then pulling it out. blood shot from Flair's mouth as the sword impaled her. Inferno broke free of the grip of Rogan and Sindaro and quickly caught flair before she hit the ground from Korgoth dropping her.

Flair: Inferno, it hurts!
Inferno: Flair, don't worry, I'll get help.
Flair: no, Inferno, it's too late for that.
Inferno: please don't talk like that, I'll get you back to my dad's place, my sisters can heal you.
Flair: that's nice of you Inferno, but I wouldn't make it.
Inferno: no, it's not your time yet!
Flair: your right, it's not my time. Inferno, I love you, and I always will.
Inferno: don't worry, I'll bring you back, I promise.
Flair: I'm cold Inferno, please hold me.

they embrace one last time and flair lets out a sigh as she passes. Inferno lays her on the ground and turns to the slayers.

Inferno: why... why did you kill Flair?
Korgoth: because your kind is an abomination on this world, but I didn't realize that you had names I just assumed that your kind were mindless beasts!
Inferno: I'll never forgive you for what you've done!!!

Inferno's hair waved a bit and stood up turning gold and his eyes flashed a bit before turning an aqua green. Inferno roared a dragonic roar causing nearby volcanoes to errupt and the magma fields shot up into collumns of flames. [/flashback]

Inferno: YOU! You're the one that murdered Flair!!! This ends today Dragon Slayer!

Korgoth's grave eyes did not match the cruel smile on his face as Inferno snarled out his challenge. How long has it taken for it to come to this? he wondered. Every day he went on knowing that this...creature before him had survived was another day that smacked of bitter failure.

"You know, I had the chance to kill you back then, but I spared you because I wanted to experiment on you," Korgoth began, his forced smile fading into an impassive mask. "I was intending to take pleasure in watching you spiral into self-hatred, but you've been very disappointing, monster. You've lived on, driven by hatred for me...isn't it strange?" he wondered, drawing his sword.

The pommel of the sword was decorated by strips of leather upon which dragon teeth dangled, prizes of his greatest victories against the wicked wurmkind. He bore many more scars than he had then, and his black hair was thinning from age and the withering heat of malice in his heart.

"Strange that you, vowing to destroy me, have come to thrive on hatred as I have? I long gave up taking any pleasure in the mere idea of killing you. I will only know peace when I have slain you and taken your hatred for myself. Now, bleed your rage!" he shouted, dashing straight at the hybrid, sword in hand.

He swung in low, and as expected, Inferno deflected the strike with a swipe of his claws, sending the tip of the sword glancing across the ground. Korgoth let out a surprised shout as he feigned a trip, falling into the failed swing. No sooner did his shoulder hit the ground, however, than he caught one of the small pebbles cast aloft by his blade's movement, throwing it directly into the hybrid's eye. He grimaced at the pained growl that gave him his cue, and thrust his sword straight up at Inferno's stomach.

The flesh that stopped the blade, however, was not his target. The blade had found its mark in Inferno's palm, the dragon-fiend's left hand twitching as blood ran from its new opening.

"And here I was looking to have you die from the same wounds your mate did," he said. The words had not filled his head the moment he struck, but they served their purpose as they struck a chord with Inferno, causing him to lose focus for just a moment.

"Let go of my sword, animal!" the Slayer Lord barked, thrusting a heavily armored boot up from the ground at Inferno, smashing the steel plate into his gut, sending him stumbling backwards, his hand relinquishing the bloodied blade as he wobbled. Korgoth rose quickly and studied his foe with narrow eyes.

"Is this all? Five years have passed but the gap between a creature like yourself and a slayer hasn't shrunk in the least? Come now, wretch. Feed my hatred," he mocked.

Inferno attempted to open and close the fingers on his left hand and saw that his hand, although it had a hole in it, still functioned, but it hurt when he used it. thankfully the sword went in with the blade verticle so that it passed between muscle and bone.

Inferno: is that all you've got slayer? you don't seem to have gotten much stronger since then, but then again, you can't get stronger unless you fight opponents stronger than yourself. last time I checked you were a coward who killed defenseless innocents.

Inferno's hair stood up and turned gold, his eyes shifted from yellow to aqua green. then several more spikes of golden hair shot out from his head and the air around him sparked with electrical ki energy.

Inferno: in a twisted way, I should thank you for unlocking the secrets of my Saiyan lineage. now here are the fruits of your gift to me!

Inferno vanished from sight and then re-appeared behind the slayer, kicking Korgoth in the back hard, denting the steel armor with the imprint of his foot. Inferno disappeared again and re-appeared in front of Korgoth, uppercutting him into the air. Inferno vanished again and appeared above korgoth, slamming his dragonic tail into the chestplate of the slayer, sending him flying towards the ground and chrashing just outside of the ruined city. Inferno disappeared and reappeared again standing over Korgoth. he stompped on Korgoth's hand that gripped the slaying sword, the crunch of bone could be heard as his foot came down and broke the slayer's hand. Inferno then picked up the slayer's sword and drove it deep into the charred ground next to the slayer so that only the pommel of the handle was above the surface. Inferno untied the dragon fangs from the slaying sword and toed them around his neck.

Inferno: it's an insult to our kind for a slayer to carry dragon fangs like that. I'll hold onto these for now until I can find the dragons that these belonged to and give those dragons a proper funeral.

Inferno took to the air and drew his katana, aiming it at Korgoth the heartless as the sword began to glow orange, then white as it ignited with dragonfire.

Inferno: searing spiral blaze!!!

a red beam of fire energy with a spiral of dragonfire shot from the enchanted katana blazing through the sky down towards Korgoth. The beam and fire super heated the air around it to the point where the surrounding air ignited as it sped towards the ground, heading strait for Korgoth.

The Slayer Lord had just enough time to face the fiery destruction that set the sky aflame on its way to him, baring his teeth in anger at the coming blaze. The white tongues of heat washed over him, and he clinched as agony took hold of his nerves. He rolled in wild desperation against the ground until the flames dancing across his skin had been snuffed, but he knew his flesh had been completely ruined.

Slowly, bit by bit, he rose to his feet, doing his best to hide that his weak legs wobbled within their greaves.

His fists clenched tightly as black flakes of completely charred skin began to fall from his face. His enchanted armor had barely preserved his life, and though the overwhelming heat had penetrated enough to boil the rest of his epidermis, most of his body still functioned, albeit barely. His eyes, however, had been melted shut, his lips similarly welded together over teeth that had instantly turned black under the heat.

He was a wretched sight to behold, but he still had life in him, such as it was, and he used that life to lift a gauntleted hand to his face and tear into the flesh. In one swift motion, he tore off the burnt skin from his face with a sickening ripping sound, revealing skin that, while seared, was still in the shape of Korgoth's visage.

"This is not the first time I have been touched by the dragon's fire," he muttered in disdain. His thoughts were less intimidating, as his taxed nerves would barely grant him the strength to lift his sword, let alone wrench it from the ground.

"But you were right, I have not had a worthy opponent to bring to the blade in far too long. The years of silence from your kind, after I butchered them all...they have made me soft, but have also given me time to prepare for your arrival," he laughed, charred teeth shaking particles of ash onto his boiled tongue as he did.

Inferno could not divine the man's meaning before three of the flame-embalmed draconic corpses near him collapsed in on themselves, revolting green organisms of bile and rot oozing out from the holes and slithering at the hybrid. Two wrapped around his feet and began to coil up his legs, constricting him, while one worked its way up his body and around his neck.

"Do you like them? These marrow-slimes have been feasting on the remains of your kin, hollowing them out from within...there will be no burial for monsters." The creatures tightened their grip on Inferno, the skin of his neck and lower legs slowly dying and disintegrating bit by bit as they ate it. Korgoth walked over to his sword with slow, uncertain steps, kneeling by it and wincing with pain as he slowly jostled it back and forth to loosen it.

"I must admit, I cannot kill you on my own now, but that doesn't mean I can't kill you. I will not fail the one who gave me this cup to bear," the Slayer Lord finally managed to remove the sword from the ground, watching as the small patches of exposed muscle tissue gradually grew visible. He drew closer, mustering the strength to level his sword at Inferno's neck. With the last of his vigor, he pulled the blade back and took a ferocious, wild swing to decapitate him.

"Die, beast!" he shouted. He believed it was his finest moment.

OOC: sorry for the late response, college has been kicking the crap out of me.

Inferno smirks and intense flames errupt from his body, instantly incinerating the marrow-slimes that were attached to him and quickly deflected the slayer's blade with his own blade. Inferno quickly got to his feet and looked to the Slayer.

Inferno: Marrow slimes? is that really the best you can do slayer? those things are like the weakest harmful creature on the planet! even civilians could easily fend these things off. I would have expected better from you, the last of the Dragon Slayers, but I guess attacking the weak and defenseless is what you do best, isn't it?

Inferno sheathed his sword and pulled his hands back to his right side, a ball of dragonfire energy infused with Ki energy formed in his hands and grew bigger by the second as he fed more and more of both into the ball.

Inferno: Dragonfire... Ka...Me...Ha...Me...

as Inferno was about to finish the decliration of attack, Korgoth charged Inferno and swung his sword thinking he had sliced clean through but it was just an illusion. the real Inferno appeared just behind the slayer and thrust his hands out in front of him.

Inferno: HAAAAAAA!!!!

the slayer turned around just in time to see a beam of swirling blue and orange energy smash into him, knocking the breath out of him as it pushed him through the air towards a volcanoe outside of the village. the beam slammed into the side of the volcanoe and engulfed the slayer as it turned upwards leaving the slayer behind and dissapating. the slayers armor, or rather what was leaft was now gone, leaving only his normal cloths on him. Inferno appeared in the sky above the crater, his sword drawn again and pointed at Korgoth.

Inferno: Before I kill you korgoth, and thus rid my home of your threat once and for all, I want to know why you kill dragons, what drove you to it and why do you think we are evil? it's been bothering me ever since that day five years ago when you and your minions slaughtered a village of innocents just because they were half dragon. Tell me now Korgoth!

Korgoth's ruined body lay within the face of the volcano, muscles too tired to even quiver. He felt the pain fade from what little remained of his nerves, and he was left with numb hands and feet, number arms and legs. He struggled to even conjure the breath to speak.

"I...hate...you..." he whispered. He drew two breaths, then froze. Something inside him clinched his airways shut, and he gasped violently but found no breath. His body convulsed once wildly, and then in a long exhalation he cast a blue wisp into the air. It spiraled up past Inferno with great speed, disappearing into the firmament above and on to the aether, screaming as it went.

Slowly, the corpse of Korgoth rose to Inferno's horror, standing tall, defiant. Its eyes were hollow, and something dripped from all over its body slowly like a mud-flow. It was hot, bubbling flesh, viscous and tumorous in appearance. The melting body seemed to have no regard for the confusion or disgust in Inferno's eyes nor the fact that it was falling apart. Here and there, entire pieces of meat fell from its bones.

"It is only a game, dragon-king. All just a game. Each and every person you loved died solely because you loved them, solely because it would bring out this power of yours...doesn't that make you responsible? What will you do with that weight upon your heart?" Korgoth's body let forth a hollow peal of laughter, the wet gurgling of ozzing flesh in its throat infiltrating the mocking sound.
