Knight leaned upon a pillar. He was set to guard this place from any and all. He had been called a living suit of armor, and it was not far from the truth. Layer upon layer of armoring, four times that of most. Spear in hand, he waited. The massive chamber stood empty, carved wood and stone across every surface. Stone walls, domed ceiling, wooden flooring, wooden supports, wooden decorations. Strange to think of it, this did not look to be much of a place to guard. He was not one to question his orders. He waited, his armor gleaming in the low light.
A Massive being, just over 9 feet tall approaches the wooden structure. His mangy brown hair so thick around his arms legs and non facial regions it could almost be called fur. He wears a Green leather tunic, and a pair of tanned leather breaches that contain the Dark Brown forest of hair, and give him an almost human appearance. Ears hidden by hair, two eyes, both brown, a nose and mouth, teeth hidden behind the lips. Two large Muscular arms as thick as tree trunks and two sturdy legs even thicker.

Gunther was big and dangerous, even for a member of his race. He'd heard something valuable was being guarded in a strange wooden structure, and that the guardian was a mighty foe, a behemoth of steel. Walking into a massive chamber, Gunther cracks his knuckles, the jarring sound echoing around the pillars. His booming voice chuckles, "Knock Knock, anybody home."

"No. You are trespassing." Knight's deep voiced intoned as he stepped forward. He did not give warning, he did not introduce himself. This rather large foe was trespassing, therefore he would be removed. The haft of Knight's halberd slammed into Gunther's nose. The crush of cartilage was a familiar sound to the aged warrior. His opponent distracted by his bloody and ruin face, the armored man's chain wrapped itself around the giant's legs, and he heaved with all his weight. Weight that was rather considerable. As the half again his height beast fell, the chamber shook. Knight weapon, now rather similar to an over sized miner's pick, went straight for Gunther's chest. Knight had a job to do, and he had always been a very good worker.

Gunther doesn't have time to howl in pain as his face is knocked in by a well timed jab to his nasal rejoin because a moment later he's dragged to the ground.
But one thing he's definitely not going to do is stand still and take it.

His left hand juts foreword as though the consequences of what he's doing haven't even crossed his mind as Gunther jabs his palm right into the tip of the knights weapon and grabs hold, immediately pulling back with a monstrous amount of raw force, rivaling and possibly beating that of a charging dragon as Gunther's right fist comes in to meet the knight who's pulled along with his weapon. A loud Crack piercing the air at the conclusion of the inevitable collision, dented armour and bruised knuckles aside.

Gunther doesn't let up there, spreading his powerful legs apart as he rises, snapping the chains wound around his feet as he sends a second spurt of force through his fists, pulling the knights weapon away from him while pushing the knight in the opposite direction with his other fist.

The pole arm comes out, possibly by sheer force, or possibly because Knight knew deep down it was pointless to keep holding on to it. At the same time the massive upheaval channeled into the knights chest is spread across his entire body, a testament to the strength of his armour as an unarmoured man's chest would of given way and he's sent flying through the air away from the Giant.

Gunther tosses the weapon behind him and winces as it comes free of his hand, blood rushing from his palm. Gunther snarls as he looks down at it and chokes as the blood from his nose gets in his mouth prompting him to cover his eyes for a moment as he wipes his face with his bruised hand.

Ooc: Should have made it more clear. Knight has one weapon. Not multiple. It constantly shifts from one to another. So the chain was never there to be broken. It was already in the shape of the weapon careening into Gunther's chest.

Gunther's sight restored, he did not like what he saw. Knight gauntleted fist. The armored made had crossed the distance, and the slightly over three feet of height difference between them in the time it had taken the giant to wipe to blood from his face. The metal felt cold, colder then steel, or iron should be in this area. Knight inertia, and the surprise factor of having a heavily armed man throwing himself at you, nearly toppled Gunther.

The nine foot hulk of a man grabbed what seemed to be a tin can comparatively and hurled Knight behind him. They're was a large crash as he went threw a support beam. Gunther turned to look at what would should be a dented piece of man and iron. What he saw was annoyingly different. Knight stood there, armor battered as it was, with a rather large mace in hand. He charged, and his speed defied what he wore.

He swung with all his might, and the massive sword aimed to cleave Gunther from rib to shoulder. The giant did not like that idea, so he caught the blade, a slight cut to his hand, but much better then the alternative. Knight foot came down on his foot. More importantly, Knight entire weight crashed into the giant's toes. Gunther's grip on Knight weapon was lost as it shifted into the thin blade of a rapier. The weapon shifted again, and Knight brought his fist surrounded by the ridged and studded mass of it, straight into Gunther's gut.

OOC: Is no big deal for the fight so far, good to know for the future though.

As Gunther takes the gauntlet to his gut, the Knight can feel how hard his body is, even through the gauntlet, almost as hard as his own armor and certainly a rival for a standard suit of plate mail.

Gunther jumps backwards, and before the knight can close to attack again lets out a savage cheer, a grin plastered across his face as his brown eyes shift yellow. Gunther's voice seems filled with energy as he speaks to Knight. "You're good, no... Great. Even if there's nothing here, this trip was worth my time."

Taking advantage of this pause Knight closes the gap but Gunther Jumps away again, but instead of stopping and grinning brings his fists to bear on the ground in front of him, a massive Barrage of wooden shrapnel flying towards Knight, Gunther jumps upwards this time, his speed for his size also impressive, when moving in a straight line anyway. He kicks off the ceiling, the roof where his foot touches ripping free and flying into the air as he quickly comes down, right on knights shoulders. The wrenching of metal is heard once again as Gunther's powerful body comes to bear on knight full force and a slight shift sends him headfirst towards the barrage.

But that was not the only purpose of the shift, using Knight as a springboard Gunther flies towards the remains of the pillar Knight had flown through just moments before and skids to a stop, picking the entire pillar up as a club of his own. One of the skidmarks has a thin trail of blood, matching a blood stain on the rended plate of one of knights shoulders.

The sound of grinding, warping, flexing iron was heard as Knight's armor forced itself back into shape. It was as if unseen hands gripped and pulled. The splinters, no matter how large that's what they were, dropped away. Forced by the crude repair. He got up. Maul clutched in his hands, he charged. Gunther swung, the massive tree sized piece of wood in his hand like an oversized baseball bat.

Knight did not duck, he did not leap, he did not dodge. He stopped, braced himself, and with his damaged arm thrust his spear into the floor further rooting himself. His other arm rose, and tensed as it took the full blunt force of the wooden beam. It shattered against armor, and broke in twain, and as it did, Knight charged forward once again, yanking out his scythe. Splinters the size of javelins assaulting him from every angle. They bothered him little more then raindrops.

The giant set his feet, and brought the remained of his over sized cudgel down. Once again Knight's undamaged arm went against it, and won. The armored warrior ducked under the remainder of the wood, and brought his mace around, ignoring the few splinters that made it into his plate, and broke off. The weapon shifted hands far faster then a simple toss could have done, even though that was what it seemed. Knight put his weight behind it, but his good arms strength into the strike.

The mace smashed into the giant's leg and shattered his knee. He feel to one knee no longer able to support his own weight, whether it was from the shock or the damage was unknown, and his fist went straight for Knight's head. Iron buckled under the force and the helmet flew off, as knight skidded along backwards just as quickly. His hand went up as he backfliped to his feet, catching the dented piece of metal. He hurled it and it smacked into Gunther's already broken face.

Cold dark eyes, like iron, stared out from a wrinkled face. Quarter inch long white hair, and well trimmed short beard of the same snowy color did not leave a doubt that this one was older then most lived on the front lines. Those eyes however, those eyes held a promise of strength beyond youth, and wisdom beyond a lifetime.

Knight grasped his sword, with it's thick blade curved and nearly as long as he was tall. His armor warped, and a new helmet formed from it. He walked forward, weapon ready.

Crack! The sound of sliding bone as Gunther rights his left knee and rises to his feet. However, even his incredible endurance cannot withstand the pain in his leg for long and he's forced to lean foreword, shifting his wait onto his hands and taking on the visage of a bear.

Gunther crawls towards Knight for a moment, like a wild animal stalking it's prey, stopping once two pillars are within arms reach of him. The Grin once again transforming his face, as blunted as it is from the shaft and helmet. He grabs hold of the pillars and with a kick off the ground from his good leg flings himself towards Knight.

Knight braces for the impact and takes a mighty swing at Gunther, now more like a Gorilla than a bear. Despite having the most injuries on both his left arm and leg, Gunther connects with his left shoulder, the sword piercing muscle and cartilage which scatter into the air behind Gunther, but Gunther's charge is not slowed by this tiny resistance. Knights weapon is slammed into his chest as Gunther's body connects with his. This time, Gunther's strength is well passed a charging dragon, and more in the realm of a Space Battleship on full impulse.

Knight collides with the far wall, Gunther's body indented into the same side as his sword arm as Gunther presses him against the wall with all his weight while bringing his good arm, which until now was the farthest thing from knight in to bare. Blow after blow into the Knights chest, the same place he'd struck originally. His intent seeming to beat you down faster than your armour can regenerate.

Pounding strike after strike after strike battered Knight's armor. The cold metal warping, cracking, chipping off. Knight did not move. He did not need to. He felt his ribs, his every bone really, creaked under every blow. He wore armor for that reason. He withstood the assault, and gathered himself. His weapon was out of reach, his undamaged arm was rather effectively out of commission. Here is where most warriors would tap into a new source of power or some such thing. Knight smiled within the confines of his armor.

Gunther heard the satisfying crack as one of Knight's ribs broke. He fist reeled back, fueled by the knowledge he was making headway it struck harder and faster then ever. His scream of pain echoed as it was transpierced by his own strength.Spike pieced threw his flesh and out the other side of his hand. Dozens, hundreds, thousands of them six inches long and thin. A veritable bed of nails across the entire front surface of knight's armor.

Gunther backed away clutching his heavily bleeding hand, the bloody thing useless. The spikes changed, retracting, thickening and spreading out. The armor unbent, and he grasped his weapon once again, the simple two inch thick staff in his hands. A particularly nasty spike between the knuckles of his right fist.

Gunther slid back away from Knight, his movements beginning to slow immensely. The spikes had done little damage to most of his body, but His left arm hung limp, refusing to move, and his right hand was twitching, several holes in it where spikes had pierced it. The savage glow leaves Gunther's eyes as he laughs in a hearty fulfilled voice.

Gunther speaks to Knight, a defeated tone coming over his voice, Knight seeming to honor this "final speech", or perhaps needing a moment of his own to collect his strength after such a brutal barrage. "Your armour can transform too, I wasn't expecting that. You turned my own strength against me. A few months ago, this would of been the end of it. Both my arms are crippled and I've but one leg to stand on. No one's ever been able to endure my blows this long before. If you survive this, pay whoever enchanted your armour a visit to thank him., I've only got one trick left, and I've only got one arm to focus through and no hand to aim with. I can't tap into much of my ki yet, so I'll have to put everything I've got into this. Win or lose, I'm finished here, you've done a remarkable job protecting this place, I'm not going to dishonor you by taking what's here."

Gunther changes his stance, his injured leg flat on the ground towards knight while his good leg braces the ground behind him. Gunther takes a massive breath and the air in the room seems to rush past him and away from knight as a low hum begins to resonate from Gunther's Body. Knight takes a defensive stance, his staff ready to deflect whatever comes at him.

Gunther brings his right arm back, a Purple Glow starting to emanate from it, just before he flings it forward and lets out a massive shout, "Dimension piercing bullet!"

There's a blinding flash before a Fist Sized arrow of Purple energy bursts forth from the end of Gunther's right hand and flies directly towards Knight's chest at a blinding speed. The arrows trail bends all light that passes through it as though the arrow's carving through reality itself, no armour, no barrier, no amount of force could possibly hope to oppose it.

Gunther turns away and limps towards the entrance of the dome, this fight was over, he needed no confirmation, whether or not knight endured, this was Gunther's loss. No one had been able to match him in martial prowess until this day, the only reason Gunther had underwent the training to master his ki and the dimension piercing bullet was to even the scales against the impenetrable fields of certain spell casters, not to pierce that which can be pierced by strength alone. Still, Gunther couldn't help but hope Knight would survive, if the two were to meet again, Gunther would be ready for it.

Knight watched him leave. Keeping anyone there was not part of his job. Half his arm was missing. That was the only thing that had bought him enough to turn and avoid a hole in his chest. Plate after plate after chain after scale after chain scraped and peeled off, and a rather nasty gash in his chest, bleeding. Not quite blood, but rather similar. Laying his spear on his shoulder, he walked over to one of the remain pillars and sat down. His armor slowly forced itself back into shape, his arm slowly reforming as well. Becoming softer more brittle in the process. It would need to be reforged in entirety now, but he could not afford to look weakened at the moment. Not until his finished his work.

That was a fun exercise repster. Really got my blood pumping a few times during that match. My first attempt at fighting a battle using the style popular on this forum too. Although I think I make things too fatal, since this barely lasted a page of posts. It's a shame no one else has accepted any of your open challenges. Although the last two challenges seem to have preset "opponents" which I can only guess are there for someone who doesn't want to create a character just for the fight.
