Zombies! escape from the city!
ooc: okay, now that all my RL stuff is out of the way I can finally get back to the forums.
the year is 2009.
in a small city somewhere in the United States there has been an outbreak of a disease, a plague that has infected almost the entire city. those infected by the plague have died within hours of contracting the disease, and decomposition begins immediately upon death. after death, their corpses rise from the dead after a dorment phase and begin seeking the flesh of the living. the plague has even found it's way into the soil of a nearby cemetary and the rotting corpses of the long deceased have clawed their way to the surface from their graves. these plague victems can only be called one thing, ZOMBIES!!! these zobies can only be killed by either removing the head or destroying the brain.
only a small few have avoided being infected by this plague. they are scattered throughout the city of the living dead and they have one goal on their minds, escape the city alive, with any survivors if possible.
okay here's the rules
1. you have to be human here, no special powers either like magic or psycic abilities.
2. the objective is to find the others and escape the city before you get devoured by the zombie hordes.
3. if you get bitten or scratched by a zombie and the wound isn't treated immediately, after five posts you will become a zombie and you will then be after the other survivors to kill them before they escape.
4. you will start out with only a baseball bat but you can get other weapons to fight off the zombies in certain buildings like a sporting goods store or the police dept. etc. but firearms still require ammo to use so remember how much ammo you have because if you run out your firearm will be useless.
5. there are certain buildings that zombies can not enter, but I'm going to let you figure out which ones are safe. remember not all buildings are safe from zombies so be careful.
6. I'll be controlling the zombies and NPCs so you guys don't have to worry about that. also I'll pop some surprises on you so be prepared.
I'll be taking the first four to reply to fill up spots as architype survivors. choose who you want from the list, but it's first come first serve.
1. the tough guy- MC Mushi Mo
2. the brave girl- selene starblade
3. the coward- firestorm
4. the loner- abbadon

Ooooo....
This sounds entertaining - Resident Evil RPG.
Let's go for a change of pace here.
I'll take the coward.
--------------------
Hey Inferno, can you clarify a couple of things regarding specific rules:
- How much distance can a character travel in a single post?
- Does each character have to wait for all three of the others between posts?
- How long should a post be, roughly?
- How much RPing of the other characters is appropriate?
- What do the zombies taste like?
Sorry to bombard you with questions; I'm really into details and such.

actually this isn't a RE game, this is something of my design. it's based more on the zombie film genera in general.
and to answer your question firestorm.
-it depends on how many zombies are in the area
-until they meet each other, no. but as for forum rules try not to double post.
-posts should be kept short to medium in length but should be longer than 3 sentences.
-try not to but if you feel you need to try to do it as little as possible
-I'm not touchin' that last one.

Heck no
^I'm good. Really. I plan to have some serious fun with a cowardly character.
Now that I think about it, I only know of three ladies on this board. Selene, HotD, and Jedi Knight. You might want to ask them to play our little game, otherwise we really do need a guy to play that role.
Or alter the role, if need be.

Like a magnet.
Alright, alright, I've been pulled in. I'm gonna ask a few things myself, though.
First off, can we get a general definition of game-world-time in minutes/hours/whatever of how long the zombification takes to set in, not a post-based one? Given that a post could easily cover anything from a few seconds to a few hours, having it be a post-number-based timer is kinda strange.
Second, I'm going to be going on the basis of thought that whatever buildings are zombie-proof, there's something about their construction or nature that makes them so, and they don't just happen to be places zombies don't go- and if that's not the case, can you please make it the case, for the sake of sensibility? Thanks.
Third, can we do things to zombie-proof a building that isn't inherently protected against the undead? The ability and thought process to use weapons, tools, and alter the environment is almost always the most major advantage the humans have over the zombies in games/movies/books of this sort, and I'd hate to see that get cut in any way- particularly as it's just four people against millions of zombies (going on the idea that this city is probably at least a major city, and not some nowheretown).
Finally, can we start out with some alternate to a baseball bat of roughly equal utility? Not everyone's gonna be starting at a high-school locker room, I don't think.
