It was only when Luigi would set his own fight that he would ever advance in skill and power.
However, this was not because no one fighter could offer him a real challenge. True, no fighter could draw the sweat from him let alone his blood, but it isn't just bleeding and healing up that makes a warrior stronger. The body is only one muscle to exercise; the spirit and mind must be trained just as much, if not more.
It was because Luigi 64 had a warrior's spirit, a spirit that wanted to become stronger, that he focused so much on his training. And it was only when Luigi turned that will power on himself that he became an unstoppable force.
Luigi 64 was in torment. If only Luigi 64 knew how much torment he would be in soon enough. It was his will to train which lead him to this massive dungeon called Labyrinthine. Upon entering the gates of the monolithic surface stronghold he was immediately captured by a dozen strong, armed soldiers. The creatures were barbarian like, and there was something animal or demonic about most of them. Luigi 64 knew that he could destroy all of these monsters with one mighty blast wave of his power, but it was then that Luigi 64 had a revelation. If he continued to use his power to destroy every enemy, he would never gain experience from a fight. He would never use his mind to save himself, and he would never grow physically stronger. That would be his down fall if it ever came down to it.
And so Luigi 64 held out his wrists saying "Arrest me, I surrender."
Luigi 64 was taken down an almost endless elevator shaft, and then at the bottom he was lead for what seemed to be a mile long maze of prison cells by two guards.
.....said a muscle headed guard as he laughed."Welcome to Labyrinthine"
With that, Luigi 64 was thrown inside the cell.
