Dragon's Dungeon

#1

Post by Valigarmander » Sun Jan 28, 2007 3:41 pm

Welcome to my first story topic, the Dragon's Dungeon. I'll give you the basic rules... Anyone can play, and anyone can join in at any time. Each person can use only one character. All players are allied together.

You are traveling through an immense labyrinth. You must work together to get through the tasks I put before you. There are exactly 100 tasks which you must pass through. Once one task has been completed, you can move onto the next. The players will enter the dungeon once enough people join. Remember, I'm the "dungeon master," and I'll be the one laying out the basic path for you to take. However, feel free to add whatever you want. Also, know that many of the monsters you will fight will have a hidden weakness, and all of the puzzles can be solved.

Current Players
SweetTroubledSoul (Angel Starr)
Repster (Knight)
Bartman (Killer)
Lupin III (Wallace Ghremange)
Agents Bob and Steve (Special Agent Bob)
Wyborn (Storyteller)

Outside of the Dungeon

Hidden in the dark jungle forest beneath a shimmering green canopy lay a towering stone monument. Covered in vines and eroded by time, this rocky pillar stood up from the earth. Several yards from it, another one stood, this one broken in half, the second piece lying crumbled on the ground. Not far from the pair of stone pillars stood another, and beyond them another. Further, massive stone steps emerged from the muddy earth, leading up to an enormous stone building. A pair of braced wooden doors marked the entrance to the dungeon, a long line of drakish words written above them. The entrance was locked firmly, and could only be opened by the collective strength of journeymen bound by the will to enter the dungeon and locate the treasure, legend holding it be the most incredible power imaginable in the world.

(I will open the doors and grant you access to the dungeon when enough players join. Cheers.)

Alright, let me know what character you're using and post your entrance. You're the only one here right now, and you can't enter the dungeon yet, so, yeah.

Alright.

Hmm, not many people seem extremely interested in this. It might be a while before we can get started.

Ooc: That... or I could decide to incinerate every "little box thing" as a waste of space and clutter. Let's hope for the first shall we?

Knight stared at the door before him. He, if he it was, looked more armor then man. Not far short of the truth. A steel quarterstaff rested on his shoulder. He recalled his master's instructions. His every inch glimmered slightly showing no sign of the rough terrain.

There some dungeon type thing in the juggle that way. Something about treasure in it or something. I don't know. Fix that. Not like you have anything better to do. Your just sitting there getting your armor all rusty.

The armored armored armored armored warrior doubted that last one as much as he doubted anything. Rust was the least of his worries. He has fought creature simply known as rust monsters and had little more then a few specks on the first layer. So there he waited, examining the door. He was no rogue to pick a lock, or brute to break it. He was no mage to simply magic it open either. No, for this one there was a simple way to have this door opened, patience. While he may not the proper tools or skills to open this door, this type of dungeon always attracted a drove of adventurers of some kind. One or more that could open the doors would come.

So there Knight waited, as patient as a statue. He moved little more either.
When our world is burning.
When all run like the cowards they are.
I shall stand in the inferno, and fight until I am consumed

I will use Angel Starr

Staring at the entrance, she did not seem nervous nor exited but she did look foward to seeing what will happen. Her green eyes looked over at a Knight but she did not smile nor frown, just looked as if it was something of importance to her. Instantly she turned away but did not move from the same spot..she waited for anything to happen.

A tall man in an intricate suit of armor made his way across the land, such was the way of the lonely adventurer. He traveled(on foot) across vast expanses, over mountains, and through heated battles. All the way collecting more and more gold coins(the object of nearly every wandering adventurer's affection) as well as recognition. While in search of gold and quests, he found himself in the jungles of Karamja(he had paid a fair to get there, as it is an island in the middle of the sea). While resting at an inn, a drunken pirate told loud tales of treasure and loot in the heart of the jungle. After much... umm... "Encouragement" the pirate was persuaded to give the wandering hero his map, and the adventurer made his way into the jungle. He hiked and slashed through dense vegetation and many beasts, and eventually found himself in what appeared to be a large ruin. A glance at his map confirmed that it was the location of the treasure he was seeking.

"Alright, time to get started!" His armor doing nothing to hinder him, he walked up the massive stone steps, what he saw surprised him. Two others, a man in armor comparable to his own(whom was standing perfectly still, as if he were waiting for something to happen), and a woman that had a look about her, as if she was waiting for something to just make itself happen as well... either way Wallace decided to try and stay focused on his goal, he could go chasing damsels afterwards. he walked up to the door, and attempted to open it. The was no knob, but rather a large bar, as if many were to grasp it at once. Wallace's strength(as great as it was) was no match for this door.

"Mind givin' a fellow some help?" He addressed his question to the others.

Angel Starr looked toward the man and smiled running too quick for his view and slamming into the door making it open just a bit. Now it would be easier to open it more. She seemed to have smiled to herself only showing white straight teeth and two vampire fangs. Her hands touch the door, showing slim long fingers with nails the color of red roses, such as her red hair as well. It was as if she was trying to sense something...but soon she backed off and stared at the man once more. "One more push should get it open." There was something about her strong voice that almost seemed sweet. She then indicated with her hand for the other fellow to also help with the door.

Knight made no sign as to move.
"Be patient young one. It would be rude to proceed before the others arrive."
His deep voice was as steady as his posture. The voice one would expect from a stone in the middle of a river. Worn smooth by the years it knew the river would slowly erode it into nothingness. Yet it weathered the storm as diligently on this day as the first, and until the last. He suited it, staying in place, waiting.
When our world is burning.
When all run like the cowards they are.
I shall stand in the inferno, and fight until I am consumed

She smiled at him. "Young one?" A vampire is never a young one no matter how well they look. "What if we do not enter but open the doors...let the heir of strangeness start seeping in?" She stepped back and calmly sat on the ground, then leaned back and closed her eyes. "Sometimes you can't wait too long, or else the moment will pass by and leave you alone... still waiting. Trust me--I know." And with that, a red blooded tear came tumbling down her cheek.

The last to appear so far was a man - it was assumedly a man - in a cloak. He seemed to be cloaked in shadows, and every feature was hidden beneath his frame, save only that he was massive and hunched over. He looked at the massive door and chuckled, wondering when enough of them would be there to lift it. Could he have done it alone? He doubted it. Regardless of his power - and he doubted he was the strongest there, not by a long shot - these things were held by a different magic, and more souls would be needed as a sacrifice to the adventure.

His head turned to the vampire - or those watching thought it did.

"Child, why do you cry?" he asked, and his voice was as smooth as glass. She turned to him, a thin film of red covering one eye, and was about to speak when he held up his hand. "Do not contest your childhood; I am far more interested in your story."

"Who are you?" the Knight asked, and hiss was not a voice that trusted the cloaked man.

When the cloaked man turned to look at the Knight, his eyes opened for the first time, and they were huge and red.

"You may call me Storyteller. I am here to watch, and to learn, and to tell this story to others when it is finished. I will not help you as much as some, not in this endeavor, because stories about the self are always less interesting, but..." and here he grinned, and it was liek the Cheshire cat, "you will find me interesting to walk with."

And he turned back to the vampiress.

"Why do you cry?"

"Before I say anything about my...story....tell me, storytell, why are your eyes red? If I should tell you about myself, then I should hear a bit about you. You see, I have not told my story in many many years and if I should tell it, it should be to someone who I at least fond of. Don't get me wrong....it's not that I dispise you....but my senses don't do well with strangers who want to know my life." She cleared the tear from her cheek, stood up and ran quickly toward the cloaked man without any warning. She stands a few inches from his face, the wind picking her hair up and making it touch his shoulders. "You have a story, storyteller...do you listen to others stories to rescue yourself from telling yours? Or do you just simply find a random interest in listening to the stories of others. I might as well be a storyteller too, since I am to tell you my story. Then what does that make you? You are one of us....a story clasped inside your soul awaiting for the right moment for it to finally fly..." She spoke sweetly and daring but did not mean to offend anyone especially this mystery man....

"Can somebody help me?" Wallace said. "Let's just get this door opened so we can begin this thing."

With a few uneasy shrugs spread throughout the group, all six walked up to the door, grabbing hold of the bar. Before they could even push, it suddenly illuminated, shining like the moon in the night's sky. Half of the warriors pulled their hands away from the door, as though it might hurt them. As they did, the light began to die down.

"Come on," Angel said. "I think this is how we open it." Slowly, all six returned to the bar, and it began to glow again. The radiance spread along the bar, up along the edge of the door, and finally surrounded it in a trembling aura. With a loud crack, the door swung open. The six warriors stood at the threshold, looking into the dungeon. None of them moved.

Finally, the one called Killer stepped forward and entered. Knight followed. Wallace quickly walked along with them, followed by Angel and Agent Bob. Finally, Storyteller silently entered. Behind them, the door slammed shut, a loud clunk signifying the magical locking mechanism, trapping them all inside until they completed the tasks.

The room was massive, like the foyer of a great mansion. The room was circular, with a single red carpet running from the entrance to the exit. The walls and floor were made of stone, and the ceiling seemed to reach so high its limits were shrouded in darkness. Archaic paintings and banners hung from the wall, as though this were the ancient dwelling of an old baron. At the center of the room, at opposite sides of the carpet, two tall statues stood, sword and shield solemnly held in hand.

The six warriors spread out through the room, unsure of what they were to do. The entrance had been sealed, and the exit was clearly protected by some sort of magical barrier. Perhaps this was a waiting room, or maybe there was a puzzle to be solved?

Finally, a voice erupted from the shadowy heights of the room, bellowing like the cry of an angry dragon. "Warriors of the Light, Adventurers of Far and Wide! You are very brave to have entered the Forsaken Dragon's Dungeon, yet foolish. None have survived the trials, none have seen my face, and none have laid eyes upon the unimaginable reward that awaits! This test is not for those who are weak, which I can sense in your hearts. I can feel your uncertainty, your fear... it makes you powerless!" A loud crack filled the air, and as the six warriors looked, they saw the two statues at the center of the room step forward, raising their weapons into position for attack. "This first test is to determine if you are even fit to enter the Dungeon. Be wary, warriors..."

The voice faded just as a blinding flash illuminated the room. When the warriors opened their eyes, the could see the room had been divided into two. Three warriors and one statue lay on each side. The objective was clear. Destroy the enemy, then proceed.

TASK 1 - Defeat Enemy (Statue Guardians)

Think of this as a regular gunjin match, except it's 3-on-1. You are divided into two teams, and each of you must beat the enemy into submission. The rules are exactly the same as any gunjin match. Any number of you may attack in any order, and I can attack you as well. Only you decide when to give up, and only I decide when the enemy is destroyed. Keep it realistic, no super-moves. The two teams are:

TEAM 1:
SweetTroubledSoul (Angel Starr)
Repster (Knight)
Bartman (Killer)

TEAM 2:
Lupin III (Wallace Ghremange)
Agents Bob and Steve (Special Agent Bob)
Wyborn (Storyteller)

Good luck.
