Lunar Challenge.
An Open Challenge that takes place on an abandoned moon colony; Testing out Trevellyan.
<<<<<<>>>>>>
The metallic towers were crumbling, mere figments of the imagination to the descendents of those who created them. Now, they're just taking up space. And being the home of the Moon's sole native.
So much space, Trevellyan thought as he wandered through his domain. So much litter, he also thought, reflecting on how Earthlings had so rudely came t his home, taking it as theirs. They could have part of it, but all of it? No. He had to have some room. This colony was an artifact of when they had gone too far; planning to plunder and conquer the Moon. Trevellyan Tizzakik, the Moon's only rightful inhabitant, had taken care of that.
This reflection was interrupted by footsteps.
"Who is passing through my home?" Trevellyan asked out loud, pulling out the Dagger of the Lost and charging it up, just in case...

*I'll use Chase AlphonseOn mission to reclaim research notes and valuable samples from the base*
A dark clammy mist starts winding from the ventalation shafts in the hallway. The steps grow louder and an annoyed sounding voice proclaims, "I believe you have something my masters are willing to kill for."
A faint hissing sound can be heard and a tangle of wires breaks from the wall of vapors towards the lunar hermit.

As the Wire flew, Travellyan tried to use his psychokinesis to send tham back to their source. Travellyan was surprised, for his psychokinesis was met with an equally powerful form of psychokinesis. (Chase controlling the wires with the merest thought, remember?) The forces fought for a few seconds, but then Travellyan released a cannonball of darkness from the Dagger of the Lost towards the Brass Knight, which was unexpected to the 12th degree, and thus Chase was thrown back and out of his dark fog.
Trevellyan ran over to Chase with shocking speed, and pulled out the Helliossune with just as much speed. "You didn't answer my question," Travellyan said, as he surreptitiously charged the Dagger of the Lost with darkness.

(surreptitious, yes, I think I like this word, yes this is a good word)
Chase's form melted into the mist still billowing from the vents. And the moon dweller heard a whisper in his ear and a graze of a claw across his back
Is that is how you wish to play?
Despite all of his astounding speed, Trevellyan's next attack met nothing but mist.
I have always wanted to visit this symbol but I guess it really is nothing after all.
Another energy ball passed through the mist and dented the corridor wall. The power I sense here is just so delicious, tell me is this why you loiter here? A gash painlessly opened itself in Trevellyan's shoulder with an uncharacteristically large spray of dark blood.
I you need to know I am a servant of the darkness and a warrior of the light.
"That doesn't answer my question Invader."
I am a seeker of the ultimate truth yet I hide in lies
"You speak in a riddle"
He reformed launching wires at his foe. "No, I just want to pick your mind for a minute." said the newcomer. Trevellyan had sensed the collection of his opponents thoughts and moved aside before the attack was even made.
"Do you think as fast as you move?" the human asked. Wires that has been laying around the area sprang taut, filling the corridor with what would be a razor death.

"Show yourself," Trevellyan said, and it happened the moment he spoke it, for he then drained the darkness out of the mist and stored it into the Dagger of the Lost.
With a little bit of telepathy and thought, Trevellyan answered his own question. "Hello, Chase." he said. "I do not loiter here for power, nor for what your masters would kill for, but because I am here, and have been here for millions upon millions of years. This is my home"
Chase was surprised. He had some notion of how Travellyan did it, for he sensed something poking around in his mind. Nonetheless, someone you met under very mysterious conditions without telling them any useful information suddenly knowing your name would be shocking to just about anyone.
Chase was re-shocked when his wires were suddenly incinerated by lasers coming from nowhere.
Travellyan floated in the air, cross-legged, and said, "If you serve darkness and light, then you should know that I am their master." He then spun an a orb of darkness and of light around him, for effect, and then hit Chase with it, for damage.
Travellyan then examined his gash. This would be annoying, but he found no conceivable way to heal it, so he went along with it.
While The moon dweller was examining his wound, Chase had started to lash out with wire. Forunately, Travellyan noticed, and tried to fend the wires off with the Heliossune, but they wrapped around it. To Chase's surprise, when he tried to rip the sword away from Trevellyan, the wires were slashed.
Travellyan then acted quickly, running on the ceiling towards Chase, gravity affecting neither him or his clothing. He leaped down, and slashed Chase in the exact same location of Trvellyan's gash. As Chase tried to lash out again, Trevellyan unleashed the stored darkness, and Chase was thrown to the floor.

(Until the source is destroyed, the mist will continue to pour out of the vents)
As Trevellyan brought down Heliosunne in a fountain of blood, his assailant once more dissolved into mist. The voice in the moonkeeper's mind appeared again, slightly more distant sounding
You are very arrogant of you to claim to be the master of light and shadow. Your mind betrays you, you are not even master of yourself.
For a moment the mists parted and the man could be seen standing with casually standing with his hands in his pockets.

I meant literally. And there is no one true master of it; many exist; I am but one.Travellyan responded, finding telepathic communication much more convenient than speaking. Are the inhabitants of Earth master of Earth? Nay. It all depends.
On what? Chase responded.
At that moment, Chase felt his thoughts dissassemble. When he tried to get his train of thought back in order, the order was shattered again.
On the controller of the majority of the centre. (I like the british spelling.) Travellyan responded. I am my mind's majority. To my knowledge, no one else has ever been. You'll try to change that, they'll all try, but they shan't succeed. I'm too well gaurded. In the offensive way.
Then, The Brass Knight's thoughts stopped breaking. They were in order again, undisturbed. Less could be said for his body, for Travellyan then ran over and slashed him again. He then was about to stabb him with the Dagger of the Lost, but Chase enwrapped (Probably not a word) it with wire, and flung it away. Travellyan ignored it for the moment, thinkning it might even be an advantage, and it would be a bit too time-taking to retrieve it. Instead, he tried the ultimate confusion.
Bars and walls of light and darkness randomly appeared everywhere. the light and dark seemed to swirl. Chase's thoughts were once again scrambulated, (Yes, probably not a word) but he quickly reassembled them, and said to Trevellyan, Do you believe such a tactic would win against me?, but then suddenly didn't know where Trevellyan was. well, most of him. It seemed that only his head and arms were there. Strangely enough, Chase detected no magical forces.
I am removing the light's reflections from me. I am in one place, but not seemingly there.
Chase launched his wires towards the area of Travellyan's head, but nothing hapened. Then, he heard a laugh behind him.

Chase laughed, a deliberate mocking laughter, but he knew the disturbing effect it would have on a recluse.
Do you think such a simple trick as covering my eyes has delivered you a victory? I must say you are quite an amazing specimen.
Intrigued and a bit flattered Travellyan listened
Still not turning to face his foe, he said out loud, "You are very bright, and faster than even myself, but your isolation has cost you a millennia of hard experience. Tell me, do you trust yourself, completely and without any doubt."
He pulled off his mask and slowly turned, his features pale and chiseled and his eyes firmly closed.
I underestimated your abilities moon god but with your metabolism, I won't have to wait mush longer. I can feel it in your blood.

OoC: I'm really not too sure how to respond to that. That's why this post is shorter than usual. It's tough to out-enigma Chase. I try, though.
Travellyan thought to maybe wait for explanation of what Chase had just said, but figured it would be just as enigmatic and so he decided not to. "I trust myself to the 36.8973412th degree. But Quite frankly, I only completely and undoubtedly trust this satellite that we stand on. It has always stayed here for me, and has never hurt me, and it has many times helped me. I imagine it will do so again." Chase only had a faint idea what this meant.
Travellyan slowly lifted the Heliossune, pointed it towards the wall of the colony, the only thing protecting them from the harsh non-atmosphere of the moon, and fired an orb.
The controlled atmosphere of the colony was let out immediately into the atmosphere of the moon.
"I do not fully understand your powers, alchemist. But I know most humans cannot survive without oxygen for long."

Chase pretended to suffocate for a minute and then grinned even more maliciously, making sure to show off his keen fang.
I agree, a human probabbly wouldn't stand a chance.
Drops of blood began to spatter to the floor from the reasearcher's right cuff into a loose pattern on the floor, then his sleeve started to squirm in a sickening way until the whole arm ruptured into thousands of living wires all intent to taste the blood of the moon dweller.
Soon the entire corridore was covered in the writhing mass, leaving no escape but the cold caress of Pale Death.

The vampiric wires started to encroach. Travellyan was sure what to do- but just not too sure how to do it. Then, he realized how, but it was kinda sketchy. The Moondweller knew it would be hard to destroy all these wires- so he decided to go for the temporary method. Travellyan knew there was another exit- the hole he had made in the wall.
Acting faster than he ever had before, Travellyan ran towards the hole in the wall. The wires attacked, but Travellyan created an odd thing about him- a shell of lasers bursting outwards. They cut the wires as he ran, and they might have hit Chase, but he didn't know. He soon burst out of the wall, and started running up the wall. The wires followed, but Travellyan was faster, and he was in another room before they could catch him. The room was the colony's security room. He locked the only door there was and covered the walls with a laser web, so the wires couldn't get in by any way. He heard Chase telepathically mocking him for his cowardice, but The lunar warrior blocked him out.
Travellyan found the security control panel, and tried to remember what was there, for he couldn't read the human language. The humans attacked me with explosives concealed in that corridor's walls... I think... Ah, there's the switch. He thought as he flipped a switch. Travellyan saw small bombs fly out of the walls of the corridor on one of the many small television screens in the room. Chase cought some, but not all.

(In a safe room, this will be fun)
When the moon dust cleared the Earth native was laying in a bloody and battered heap on the ground, the unmasked alchemist looked directly at the camera and telepathically sent, I hope you appreciate precisely how much that hurt.
He stood up weakly and let a single strand of wire skip down the halls setting off a chain reaction of small explosions disrupting the lights before completely cutting the complex's power.
If you have a problem in your cozy control room I might be willing to cut you a deal.
Meanwhile he headed for the research wing to collect the research notes and samples.

Anticlimaxus Maximus.
Trevellyan didn't really have a problem. He simply charged up both daggers and shot at the floor with them. He floated down, and landed in a corridor that was a few corridors away from the research wing. The lights were out, so Travellyan used his light control to illuminate the way. He didn't know where Chase was, so he did a telepathic search, and discovered his location. He sped into the reserch wing, illuminated it, and saw what Chase was doing. The alchemist sensed his approach, and started to attack, but Travellyan said the most unexpected thing possible:
"Oh. So that's all."
Chase was somewhat confused. "....What? 'That's all?'"
"Yes, if you'd told me you'd wanted those papers, then I wouldn't have minded. Same for those chemicals. I never found a use for them."
While Chase was being shocked, Travellyan took a vile off a desk and smathered its contents on his gash. It started to heal.
"Good battle," The moon man said, bowed, and walked away.

Note: You can still continue the battle, if you want, but if you don't, it's a tie.

Then farewell, moon dweller, I'm forsee our paths crossingh again in the future. With that the masked intruder swept up the papers and chemicals into a nearby containment case and simply walked away, right into a wall and then to nowhere.

Back in the dank inquisitor's dungeon, Chase, bloody and torn, was kneeling before an elder church patriarch who was wearing the traditional heavy robes.
"Have you retrieved the research documents?"
"Yes, master" the kneeling man answered
"And the invader is dead."
Slowly, the Brass knight said, "No, master, he was very helpf..."
He never got to finish his sentance as a powerful psychic blast from the patriarch sent him reeling. After a tense moment, the old man saids, "Brass Knight, you dissapoint me, I expected more from you." The elder paused for a minute, started to say something and then changed his mind. Instead he simply held out his left hand.
By then Chase was kneeling before him again, resisting the urge to shred the old fool, to hell with all the consequences. No, it was better to bide his time and wait until his bargain was fufilled.
He lifted his mask and kissed the old man's ring before quietly walking out.
Along the hallway, away from prying eyes, he pulled a vial of Trevellyan's blood from the breast pocket of his blazer.
"He was very helpful indeed"
(If anyone has anything to say, feel free to do so, I love to hear feedback, notes, or even criticism)
