*Blur wondered how he would get out of this one
to the left: Darkness!
To the Right: MORE Darkness
There was only one thing to do....
Yell "FREE ICE CREAM" to trick the Darkness into leaving....
no, wait....this Darkness is lactose intolerant....what?
Blur pondered what just happened in his head, but got back to the task at hand....*
Blur:....THAT'S IT!
*Blur charges and runs through the Darkness*
Blur: Stupid Spire builders....

The darkness was familiar to Ushi, he had trained in many similar places. None, however, were as unnaturally devoid of light as this place. He sensed magic was at work here, and magic wasn't something he was keen to face.
Ushi: (There's a way out somewhere...)
His attention was garnered by a blur of motion that whizzed past him.
Blur: UGH! It's WAY too dark in here!
He continued running left and right, too and fro, trying to find an exit. He ran and ran until finally he hit something. He hit it with such force that he actually bounced back about 10 feet after impact.
Blur: Oof! What was that...? Is it the exit?
A pair of gleaming yellow eyes fixed themselves on Blur, this definitely was not the exit.
Blur: Friend or foe?
He was answered with a defining roar, the breath of this creature smelled of death. Blur didn't stick around to find out what this was, he ran as fast as he could in the direction he thought he came from. While he was running a thought was placed in his head as if by magic.
Telepathic message: If you wander around in the dark you are likely to be eaten by a Grue...

^ Valigarmander doesn't speak in Man-tongues. Let's say he spoke with Blur telepathically.
Valigarmander looked around. Grues, of course. He should have realized it earlier on. No matter. He wasn't about ready to let a shadowy monster devour him in the darkness. As he knew, there was little to do to kill a grue, yet there were plenty of ways to avoid them. For instance, light. They will not enter any area illuminated with light, as it could kill them.
Tapping into his reserve mana, Valigarmander increased the intensity of his trident's light. No filthy grue was getting it's rotting jaws anywhere near his neck.

Aidan mumbled as he walked forward, a simple fireball floating over his head, barely any source of illumination at all. Reliance on eyesight would have done him in oh so long ago. Grues weren't much a problem either, that small fireball above his head could burst into blinding light easily.
"Move it you slackers. Flame... are ya all nothin' but a bunch of slow pansy sight reliant buggers? Exits this way."
The monk kept walking forward, the only thing truly visible of him being the glowing light above. He wondered when this place would throw a real threat at him. Then again, threats to him, were easily dispatched by others. It was always a annoy point to him, that things that could cripple him barely effected those whom could handle oh so little of what he did.

When our world is burning.
When all run like the cowards they are.
I shall stand in the inferno, and fight until I am consumed

Valigarmander continued to walk forward, ever alert. It wasn't long, however, before he came to a stop. A stone wall had emerged from the darkness right in front of him. He snorted, turning to the right. There had to be a door somewhere.
He squinted through the thick shroud of darkness. His kind wasn't known for exceptional eyesight; even if Valigarmander was a youngling of only two millenia. Nevertheless, the light eminating from his weapon provided him with enough vision.
As the minutes passed, Valigarmander realized locating this door could be very difficult. He looked into the air, pausing silently. He closed his eyes, and concentrated. The forces of Magic flew through his mind, coursing through him, giving him power, knowledge. Slowly, a shining diagram appeared in his head, a basic layout of the floor. Using his magical power he pinpointed the exit: just to the northwest.
He opened his eyes and grinned.

*Blur was walking closely to Valigarmander, not too close too suggest anything, yet close enough so that " If you wander around in the dark you are likely to be eaten by a Grue..." wasn't blaring so loudly in his head. Ever since he left his Dimension where the Sonic Characters married he's had a strange psychic power, not only for the former owner of the blades, but for other things too. For some reason, someone was telling him to avoid Grues
The Question was.....who?*

Fang saw Aidan's plan and quickly held a charged ball of energy above his head.
Fang: This guys got the right idea.
Havik: Yeah, but what about the "guru" or whatever that guy was talking about?
Alex: We'll be ready if it comes near us. Don't forget to be on the look out for that key card.
The arachnoid turned on his night vision setting and walked into the darkness. He could see just fine, but for some reason the green that enabled him to see in the dark was turning black. He couldn't maintain this vision anymore and had to switch off.
Fang led the trio toward the end. He caught a glimpse of a pair of yellow eyes disappearing into the darkness. He fired the blast of energy he was using for light at the spot where he saw the lurking eyes.
Fang: DIE, YOU INFERNAL BEAST!
Havik: What was that all about?
Fang: Uh...nothing. I thought I saw a grue. That's all.
He quickly charged up another ball of energy and headed toward the exit.
