Eh, I didn't put enough in my previous posts anyway. So, there, Traveler. Not freaked out now, I hope?
Although the emphasis on Creativity makes me think burning my gloves was a bad idea for this tournament too. :p

I think you missed the train there... this link was posted because Metal Man referred to me as Brett Firestorm. If you read my post in that link, you'll see that I've been trying to convince people for ten years now that I'm not Brett.*Bryan]^Don't beat yourself up wrote:

Ten Towers! I remember that one. I kinda forgot about it, since I was so busy trying to run my story topic. When people stopped posting in Twilight Curse, I just moved on. I really wanted to finish that one, but oh well. The accursed delinquent posting did it in.
But I'm a man of my word. I'll finish that towers topic if Tazy's still around to referee.
Zaidon]Consider this a free lesson. [/quote] I don't know what all that crap was about wrote:Good God, Firestorm, why did you link that? That was a goddamn mess. The whole thing. But actually, at least it was active. Overblown and bloated, but active.

Yup... we're older than dirt. I tried looking for our fight from way the heck back in the day, but it predates the archives too. Remember when we tore the universe a new one? Good times, old friend. Good times.

In any case, since I lost I'm out of people to fight, so I guess I'll have to dig some up while I wait.
I'm up for any of those offers I got while waiting for this to be judged. And feel free to smack me if I forgot something already in a topic here.
Edit: Er, of course, Valentine could disagree and vote for me, but I dunno what would happen then. Repster flipping a coin?

Cut the Traveler worship crap.Zaidon wrote:Crap. To tell you the truth, I'd rather fight Repster than The Traveler. And that's saying a lot because I know Repster from my reading-over-Firestorm's-shoulder days, back when he was the Dragon.
So if I could just grab Guildmaster and use him as a human shield between me and Traveler... then ambush Repster...

I am so wishing I said "Omega Division" right now.
Also, prepare to die.
^^^Never really was freaked out, just disappointed and frustrated. And yes, I am still both of those to a lesser extent, but now I get to fight Zaidon and hopefully make up for it.

Wait, no, actually, it doesn't. Pasting the URL, yes, but you attempted to place the entire URL in the video tags, which renders it dead. He was just telling you that in order to post a youtube video within the video tags, you need to post only the very end of the URL, or the "video code", which he was demonstrating correctly (albeit longwindedly).Firestorm]I think you missed the train there... this link was posted because Metal Man referred to me as Brett Firestorm. If you read my post in that link wrote:
I know why you linked it. It was more of a sarcastic "jesus christ i hate old posts by me" type of thing. Don't worry, I'm pretty well aware that you and Brett aren't the same dude. :p
I don't know what all that crap was about, but I do know my video linking process goes like this:
1. Type "Monty Python Spam Video" into Google.
2. Right click the video that pops up and select "copy video url"
3. Paste the url into my post.
Entire process takes about 1.3 seconds and gets me the same results that I would get with your method.

Well, Traveler, I was just fighting to win as had gotten me the win everywhere else (including, potentially, against Acradius, but the final judge never gave their opinion.) Now that strategy is no longer unbeatable, so I will bring in a bit more of my roleplaying from the outside to make it less cheeze-tastic, since I have clearly hit the limit to which such cheese will increase my score, even if it is allowed.

It's dead as a doornail on my browser, and does not work when I click it. The method that I showed you, however, does work. The only way I could successfully watch your videos was to quote your mess, dig through it to find the URL, open a new tab, copy it onto the URL field and watch it on YouTube.Firestorm wrote:For a video that is 'dead,' it seems to play just fine when you click it. :p
So are we waiting for StuMan or can we just get on with the third topic?

Wait... I was replying to a post where you quoted Repster. Did you edit it? Where'd that post go?
Anyway, here's Repster's post in full:

Don't people say "call it" when they flip a coin and then you have to guess heads or tails?Just as valid is
4. The last post is deemed perfectly fine. Traveler wins.
My migraines are acting up to much for me to want to focus on reading and forming an opinion on those walls of text at the moment. You two judges hurry up before I feel the need to do so.
If I need to ignore all this, flip a coin, and throw the next topic up, I will. This round has already been going on for like 3x longer then it should have. Especially with all the no shows.
You know what? Just in case it does come to that let's save some time.
Traveler.
Call it.

You can't kill the metal
After three minutes of waiting at the edge of the crater, the Traveler finally loosened his grip on the Alastor. The throbbing in his fingers from clenching the sword so tightly died down as his knuckles regained their appropriate color. Slowly, he lowered the weapon from his defensive stance and simply held it as he took slow, cautious, limping steps toward the crater. The smoke billowing out of the flaming hole crawled across his cheeks as he poked his head over the edge of the crater, and the multiple gashes across his face lit up in pain as the gas irritated his wounds.
His eyes traced a path down into the crater, looking for a sign of his opponent. Then, as the smoke finally began to clear, he saw him. There, in a heap in the center of the hole, was the smoldering ruin that was once Metal Man. He had not stirred since his landing. The Traveler issued a sigh of relief as he stood up, all of his muscles finally relaxed. The very act of relaxing his muscles created excruciating pain, as the reality of wounds finally set in. The hole in his stomach was still bubbling forth blood, and now that the adrenaline was wearing off, his vision became clouded.
It was over.
“Mr Travis?”
The Traveler tried to turn and see the source of the voice, but his legs were so damaged that he instead collapsed to the ground, staring up at the dark sky. The brilliant light had faded back into nothing, leaving a starry sky behind.
“Mr Travis!”
Muffled footsteps beat across the grass as Lily rushed to him, kneeling down beside the wounded warrior. She worked her hand under his blood soaked hair and pulled his head up into her lap. She leaned over his head and looked down into his brilliant blue eyes. At this proximity, she could clearly see that his eyes were... deeper. She was hypnotized for a moment, transfixed by the endless pools of blue that seemed to go on forever. She snapped out of her trance when he gurgled, and the sounds of his strained throat were accompanied by blood.
The concern in her eyes was reflected in her voice.
“Yer gonna alright, Travis, jus hang in there...”
The Traveler's eyes rolled lazily around, out of focus, as her words echoed in his head. Slowly, in the haze of his mind, he followed the sound of her voice back to reality. Her face came into focus as he regained his senses.
“That's better! Now stay with me...”
“I will be fine,” he assured her, “I have lived through worse.”
She found this statement hard to swallow as she observed the massive hole in his midsection and the fountain of blood that it had put forth. She did, however, notice that the bleeding had already stopped.
As if to prove his point, he sat up of his own accord, lifting his head off her knees. Slowly, he placed his feet under himself, and unsteadily rose to his feet once again. Having already seen his remarkable regenerative properties before, she said nothing. It was her turn to look down into hole and see the motionless pile of scrap metal.
“Travis... what was the light? How'd you do that?”
A contemplative look crossed his face as he thought about it, weighing the possibilities.
“I do not know what it was,” he admitted, “and it was certainly not my intention to unleash it.”
His eyes wandered to the red dust on the ground, all that was left of the Soul Stone. After Kryptonite's spirit had broken free, it had no body to go back to and immediately departed this world, heading for whatever afterlife awaited him. Only the enchanted Alastor remained, the legacy of a fallen warrior.
“I did not want kill him. I picked up that golem stone nearly four hundred years ago, and yet I have never seen it do anything like that. I was hoping for a distraction, nothing more. I wanted to... heal him.”
Lily was still processing the fact that this Traveler was over four hundred years old, and it in fact crossed her mind that he was being sarcastic.
“Four hundred years ago? And whad'ya mean, heal him? He sure looked fine when he was lopping our cows in half!”
“He is not fine. He is an ancient being, like me, but he has no peace. He is a wandering, tormented soul. I thought perhaps I could release him from his suffering,” he mused, “Although, in a way, I still did.”
Lily looked lost. This was all going over her head.
“So.. whad'we do with him now?” she wondered.
“Let him finish his moment of glory.”
“... how's burnin in a hole glorious?”
The Traveler stared in silence at the remains of Metal Man, wishing he could have met the warrior under different circumstances. He knew what was now happening.
“He is hallucinating. Do you not feel the faint pulse of life that still envelopes him? His mind is alive, and in his mind he is still fighting me. Undoubtedly, he is winning. Let him savor one last victory before he passes from this world.”
Several hours later, The Traveler himself dug the grave that Metal Man would be laid in. No one else attended the private ceremony, for Orchard forbade his family to go. Thus, the Traveler alone was present to see as the Man of Steel descended into the earth. He wordlessly dug the pit, laid the broken body of the Metal Man inside, and silently filled it in. Then he disappeared without a trace, back to his travels, to see what other mysteries this world had for him to find.
No one noticed, however, on a rainy night four months later, when a metallic hand finally clawed its way to the surface....

Match 133: Sonic vs. Captain Falcon vs. Fox
Also, NC Comix.

Also, a decent ending, I guess. I guess I killed the cheeze after all, and for that I am... mostly happy.
FYI, in the SSQ 1 logs, the ones which are made by me alone start around Chapter 60/"Doomsday". The most recent are the SSQ^2 ones, which show my true skills.
