Gravel crunched under his heavy greaves. Heavy everything, truth be told. Tall, wide, in clad in layer upon layer upon layer of armoring, he walked. Plate, scale, chain, all were parts of him. Pikes, polearms, spears, javelins, stakes and every other term for a long pointed shaft lightered the land. Countless bodies impaled upon them, being cooked by the scorching sun, as carrion eaters feasted. Hefting his simple weapon, a simple length of metal with a pointed tip, he stopped. Someone was near. He could feel it. Another would be added to the scavengers banquet.
When our world is burning.
When all run like the cowards they are.
I shall stand in the inferno, and fight until I am consumed
When all run like the cowards they are.
I shall stand in the inferno, and fight until I am consumed

Kanen walked along, no sign of emotion on his face. Behind him lay a pile of dead thieves. "Fools," he thought. There was no amount of people that could defeat him. He had been battling for centuries, he had more experience than anyone.
He could sense the presence of two souls. One filled with darkness and hatred. The other vicious and powerful.
Kanen walked toward where he sensed the presence, and found two battling. A bright light appeared on Kanen's hand as he lifted it up and shot a beam, hitting both of the warriors.

Ooc: A little description beyond Cloud, giant sword and Kenen, please. I am not able to see within your minds. I know nothing of what you look like. Except that Cloud has a sword, and Kenen has a hand and a face.
The beam struck Knight's armor, for knight he was, and deflected following the curvature of the plating. The armored one ignored the damage to the somewhat dark metal as much he did the wound done to it by Cloud. Armor was useless if one did not allow it to do it's job. He tensed imperceivable beneath his outer skin. One in front, a fighting type by the looks of that blade. Another more to the side, mage perhaps. Three sides, countless dead around them. Two more soon enough. Perhaps three. Few were those that escaped death in the pike yard. First, Knight would deal with the immediate threat. Mages always did think to highly of themselves to be a problem before the first few blows were dealt. His helm almost seemed to smile as his weapon shifted to his need.
Scythe clutched in his right hand he swung hard and low. A clean strike severing the nearest pike. A quick motion later brought it tucked into under his left arm. A massive thing thicker then a man's leg, he held it comfortably as a lance and charged towards Cloud. His footsteps fell loud and hard, punishing the earth below with the weight of a man in more armor then heavy cavalry, horse included.
Cloud's blade went up, guarding against the sharpened wood. Sword met pike. Pike was defeated. Yet the considerable mass of Cloud's weapon would not allow it to be bought to bare again and Knight's morning star came for the man's head. Three feet of shaft topped with a blocky sphere, twice as big as a man's fist. Yet the weapon's real threat were the half foot long triangular spikes around that sphere that hungered for blood.

Ooc: I do believe that a floating hand and head would quite the interesting adversary.
Sitting upon some corpses, picked nearly clean by vultures before his arrival, Artemis tipped his bolero forward, the broad-rimmed hat shading his glinting cold eyes as he looked on at the lightning quick assault that the beast of a man discharged towards the Foreigner.
"Interesting." The assassin mouthed, his thumb caressing the large ruby on the pommel of his magical dagger, the bone handle of Charon's Blade jutting out under his other arm from his hip. There were many different levels of skill here; to raise and balance his own to each situation would put a strain on his concentration as well as his patience. Such was the test of true fighters.
To see an old friend in this battle was a treat, that is, if Artemis could call anyone 'friend'. And the newcomer, this... Kanen, would he be potential ally, or potential foe?
tipping his bolero back up, Artemis Entreri leaned back against the corpses as he would on a simple chair, hands poised nonchalantly upon his weapons; a relaxed pose belying his tensed muscles, as those of a ferocious jungle cat, poised to strike.
Ooc: Here's hoping I won't disappoint you, Repster.
