The small figure stepped on the field, less then three and a half feet. It looked like a reptile in a vague humanoid shape, it was hard to tell with all that armor on it. Barely any of it's scales showed threw the silvery gleem of metal. Of course, without the armor it's green scales would blend with the grass well enoght to make it barely visible. Dir'creoh scanned the area slowly. It's large maw almost like a crocadiles, open slightly to taste the air. It waited. Hunger brought it here, and hunger for battle never led it wrong.

On the opposite end of the field stood a large creature, hunched over and still almost six feet tall. It possessed a beautiful coat of azure scales that gleamed in the sunlight. The creature's backside and massive wings were covered in silvery pinions, which shifted softly in the summer breeze. Standing on four large reptilian talons and carrying a sinister-looking red trident in another pair, the creature raised its head placed atop a snakelike neck. The face appeared as a cross between a reptile and a bird, shimmering teeth visible beneath the magnificent yellow beak. The massive dragon raised itself, its helm-adorned skull high above the battlefield. "Greetings, challenger," it spoke in a deep, mighty voice. "I am Valigarmander, and I seek the greatest fighter of this realm." It pointed its trident towards the fighter opposite of him. "We shall do battle, and may the greatest warrior prevail. I shall allow you the first strike."

The kobold grounded it's feet and opened it maw wide. It was glaringly obvious this was no average kobold as a burst acid shot out from deep within it's throat. Valigarmander moved aside easily, but the little one had already been running much faster then on of it's side should be able to. The much larger beast had no time to react as Dir'creoh's jaw open and shut on a leg. Teeth made for tearing flesh bit deep, comparatively small they forced they're way threw azure scales easily enough. Small claws tore madly at scales trying to get to the flesh beneath.

Growling in anger, Valigarmander raised his trident and struck Dir'creoh's face, but to little effect. The creature dug deeper into the flesh of the talon, and Valigarmander hit Dir'creoh once more, the sharp butt striking it in the eye socket. Recoiling in pain it released its grip on Valigarmander's leg, blood flowing from the fresh wound. Taking advantage of his opportunity, the wyrm swung his weapon at Dir'creoh, the razor-sharp edges cutting neatly through the creature's armor but missing flesh. Glaring angrily at its armor breastplate now dangling from his neck in shreds, it produced an enraged growl. Valigarmander brought the trident to his side, contemplating his next move.

Okey-dokey...
Valigarmander raised his trident, a violent blue lightningbolt eminating from the crystal shaft to the deadly blades. Aiming directly at Dir'creoh, who had leapt for another attack, Valigarmander shot a magnificent bolt of pure mana which collided with the creature. Dir'creoh let out a surprised yelp as he flew backwards, showering the area with sparks. He fell to the earth, muttering as if to curse Valigarmander's very name. Meanwhile, the wyrm looked down at the crystal orb at the bottom of his weapon. The attack had nearly depleted the weapon's mana supply. It would be a while before he'd be able to perform another attack with his trident. But he produced a crooked grin with his sallow beak, teeth glistening in the light. He had many more tricks up his sleeve.

Dire'creoh growled at it's much larger opponent. Tiny claws went behind it's back and brought a pair of swords to bare, they should have been much to large to hold in one hand for it's size, but it did it with ease anyway. It held those oddly shaped blades, thicker along on side of it's length then the other, straight out at arms length and spun on himself. Faster and faster and faster the kobold went. It's tail, much thicker and more powerful then it's kin, almost stabbed at the ground and lifted the armored lizard up, and faster it spun. It legs tucked under itself as did the tail once it reached appropriate speed, and there the reptile was. Floating in the air, a wheel of slicy doom. It tilted slightly and shot towards Valigarmander.
The dragon rose his trident and the spiny blade of cutty doom struck it. Now without anything to ground it, the kobold continued was forced to use the trident as a pivot. Sending it's second sword straight into Valigarmander's arm, and continued alone the massive creatures side cutting a path threw scales and flesh and scattering blood across the field. The crowd went wild. Dir'creoh slanted at an angle and turned coming back for another pass. Blood still flicking off the swords.

Thinking quickly, Valigarmander raised his trident to deflect the blow of the first sword. As the second blade came screaming towards his face he raised the opposite end of his weapon and blocked the second sword. Seeming confused by what had just happened, Dir'creoh was thrown out of balance and tumbled out of his spin. Taking advantage of the opportunity Valigarmander spun his trident, the butt of the shaft striking his opponent across the skull. Dir'creoh fell backwards, dropping one of his swords to bring his hand to his bruised face. Blood streamed from his mouth, several of his teeth had been knocked out.
Valigarmander released a sigh, a bit of sweat dripping down his scaly brow. He fingered the large bleeding gash in his side. He wouldn't make the same mistake again.

It leap to it's feet, retrieved it's second sword and charge. Midway he hurled one weapon in front of him. Valigarmander's trident blocked the sword, and Dir'creoh leaped. The second blade clutched in both hand. The butt end of the trident blocked that one, and Valigarmander head a distinctive snikt sound, and before he could react the kobold tail struck like a viper. The now extended tail blade sunk into the huge creature's arm, and stuck out the out side. The tail hoisted the small creature on the arm and he ran, all the while Valigarmander roaring in pain the very volume shaking the stadium itself. The blade extract itself from the now elongated wound with a twist and Dir'creoh, now standing on Valigarmander, pulled out a pair of dagger and started madly stabbing at the azure scaled beasts back.

Fuming mad, Valigarmander heaved and jumped in an attempt to knock the kobold off, but the creature remained on his back, stabbing away. In desperation, Valigarmander decided to use a rather unelegant move to free himself from Dir'creoh. He hopped off of his feet and tumbled to the ground, the heavy creature rolling over like a dog doing a trick. Dir'creoh was pinned beneath, crushed beneath Valigarmander's immense weight. Quickly getting to his feet again, Valigarmander brushed off his wings and trodded over to the stunned Dir'creoh, grabbing the creature in two of his hooked talons as his wings began to beat, swooshing about creating terrible gales. Slowly, Valigarmander's large body rose from the ground, a befuddled Dir'creoh still in his grasp. With one final jump, Valigarmander propeled himself from the earth and was in the air. His massive wings driving him through the sky he rose high above the arena, the kobold terrified and confused as it was lifted far into the air. After reaching a height of twenty meters, Valigarmander moved Dir'creoh from his front legs to his arms, and suddenly went into an incredible drop, diving like a bird of prey down towards the battlefield. As the ground rushed towards his face, Valigarmander suddenly threw Dir'creoh from his arms, his wings rushing to end his drop. The kobold flew to the earth, creating a collision of seismic proportions. As Dir'creoh lay battered and bruised in a tiny crater, Valigarmander slowly fell to the earth, his wings retracting back to their regular position.

Dir'creoh did not leave the dust time to settle, from his position came a torrent of fire. It enveloped Valigarmander's entire length height width and more. It charge out of the dust, fire still poring out from it's maw. Its now blood red scales darkened to pitch black as it snapped it's jaw jump leaping up baring a pair of sickles. The azure scales beast's arm never stood a chance. The common gardening tools tore threw scales, flesh, tendons and nerve endings alike. The arm hung half limp as it's mouth opened to snap shut over it, still slashing madly.

Valigarmander growls, sacrificing his ravaged arm and using the time to pull up his trident. Focusing his entire strength in his one useful arm, he thrust the weapon into Dir'creoh's stomach. The creature spat in rage as the trident tore through his gut, tearing apart flesh and scale, ripping through his entrails. Valigarmander raised the trident into the air, Dir'creoh still skewered on the spikes. The kobold screamed, trying feebly to push the weapon out of his stomach. Valigarmander swung it to the ground, Dir'creoh pinned beneath the trident. With several slow movements Valigarmander scraped a screaming and thrashing Dir'creoh onto the earth like an old gum wrapper.
